Mission: To bring cultural events to the underserved. To those in out of the way areas not close to major cities.
Programs: Moscow festival ballets touring production of sleeping beauty. This touring company, led by former principal dancers from the kirov and bolshoi compaines is now estblisheed as a significant artistic force in moscow. Their performance was oustanding and have been invited back for next season.
mariachi sol de meixo was invited to perform on the series on december 5, 2016 and was attedned by an audience comprised in large part by hispannic patrons who responded to the dance and music with tremendous enthusiasm. 30 of those attending were not hispanic and all shared in the best of mexican culture brougt live to visalia. Turnaround artists is the first presenter to invite mariachi sol de mexico to visalia and we enjoyed the support of local hispanice comedy presenter, leonard valesquez, as an advisor in the selection of sol de mexico and as helper in the disemination of publicity.
ladysmith black mambazo. We presented ladysmith black mambazo, to our knowledge, the first ever performance in visalia by a troupe form africa to be seen in visalia. This all-male choral group sings in the vocal syles of isicathamiya and mbube and was founded in 1960 by joseph shabalala, then a young farm boy turned factory worker and named the group ater his hometown. The reponse was enthusiastic for them as it has been all over the world.
