Over the past few years, TPF has quickly become a cornerstone of the Turkish-American community, gaining trust and recognition for its continued support of impactful initiatives. From arts and culture to disaster relief, TPF stands as a vital force driving positive change across diverse sectors.
I learned of TPF many years ago and slowly began to get involved. .I greatly respect their work helping those in need in many different areas, such as orphanages, providing financial aid to students who excel but don't have the means to pursue their goals, guiding women to gain economic independence, and assisting earthquake victims. Last year they gave the Turkish Psychiatric Organization funding to purchase a container thus enabling over 1000+ volunteer psychologists/psychiatrists to visit survivors and administer treatment to those struggling with loss of limbs; death of family members and the shock of the devastation. When my mother wanted to leave my father's and her legacy I suggested TPF. Now I am following in their footsteps. I can't think of any better organization who will work honestly, with transparency and in the forefront of finding more and more ways of helping others help themselves. Serving on two Boards and having the experience of the inner functioning of organizations I can say with sincerity TPF deserves the trust bestowed upon them.

This year, TPF started an incredible campaign to raise funds in support of students of Turkish origin in the U.S. The best part? The campaign only asks for $17 a month. As a donor, this amount is very manageable and I can see the impact that even this modest contribution can make. It’s a simple yet powerful way to invest in the future of these bright young individuals, helping them overcome financial barriers and achieve their educational goals. You know, growing up, I always heard about how important it is to give back to your community. That's why I really like the Turkish Philanthropy Funds, or TPF. They're doing great work in areas that really matter - like social and economic development, education, healthcare, and disaster relief.
TPF's work really hit home for me last year during that awful earthquake in Turkey. I was amazed at how quickly they jumped in to help. What really stood out was how they kept us donors in the loop. They'd send updates showing exactly how our money was making a difference on the ground. You don't see that kind of communication very often, and it meant a lot.

Being a donor through TPF has been a wonderful experience. We have an alumni scholarship fund that provides scholarships to students in need at my high school in Turkiye. My friends and I, living in the USA, donate via TPF to take advantage of the tax benefits. TPF has a very smooth process and a highly transparent reporting system, making it a platform I can trust.
I've met with TPF after the earthquake on February 6th, 2023. I wanted to help the earthquake region and the survivors and TPF came to the rescue. For 17 years, Turkish Philanthropy Funds (TPF) has served our community to channel the generosity of its donors. The organization has done an incredible job over the years to directly impact over 3 million lives and offer strategic guidance to donors to maximize their philanthropic reach. TPF stands as a collaborative hub where donors, businesses, and nonprofits unite, pooling resources and expertise. I am very proud to support this precious organization anyway i can.
Last year I donated funds to TPF for for donor advised funds. I am planning to use these funds to make donations to various deserving non-profits here and in Turkey. They understood what we were trying to achieve and designed the funds accordingly. The process to transfer the funds to TPF was easy and transparent.
Since then, I had occasions to send donations to two charities. It just takes and e-mail with the information. The donations arrive at the non-profit offices in a timely fashion. I am very glad I am handling my giving through TPF.

I've been a part of the TPF Family since its inception. One of the reasons I was drawn to the organization and continue to be a part of it is the high level of transparency, communication, and integrity that the board and staff embrace and put forward. All of TPF's partners are vetted. Contributions can be tracked and actually go to the organizations to which they are pledged. I recently set up a Donor Advised Fund, in the memory of my late father. The TPF staff was so accommodating and clear about how to go about it and provided me assistance every step of the way. Ten years ago I decided help a well-respected educational institute assisting low income orphan students.
I was able to reach and financially help that institute through valuable assistance of TPF and started an education assistance system named Equality in Educational Opportunity . Thanks to TPF, we now have a group of 80 low-income orphan students receiving financial assistance via funds transferred by TPF to Turkey. Without TPF this philanthropic dream would not have become a reality.
From its inception, it has been an incredible source of joy and pride to see TPF grow to the organization that it is today. We continue to see great work and amazing accomplishments each day. The TPF family touches many lives, creates opportunities and bring positive effect on many lives. I am forever grateful to have had the distinct pleasure and the privilege to actively serve from its inception in this great organization. I know, the amazing group of Philanthropists that became an extended family for all of us will continue this selfless journey for generations to come.
Recently, we re-located the endowed scholarship funds, that we had established at an academic institution, to TPF. The fund’s intent is to provide scholarship, in the fields of health care and special education, for secondary education in the USA to Turkish girls graduating from high school.
We contacted TPF to see if they would be willing to take over the endowed scholarship fund and manage the program. We thought TPF, as a nonprofit philanthropic organization, was well suited for the management of this scholarship program to achieve its stated intent.
TPF assisted us during the transfer of the funds and shortly after that, put together an extensive road map of how the scholarship would be administered.
The scholarship program was quickly put back on track. Throughout this process we found the TPF staff to be highly knowledgeable, efficient and professional.

I cannot imagine a more fulfilling achievement than touching someone’s life in a positive way. Some of us are more privileged or fortunate than the rest of us. One thing is for sure that no one knows what the future holds. Therefore, I tend to believe that we are morally obligated to reach out to others who have the capacity to elevate themselves but lack the means or who are stripped of everything as a result of natural disaster or disease. Thanks to TPF I was able to realize my goal of helping others.
Most of us work very hard to excel in life, and some of us are lucky enough to make it financially. I believe those of us who achieve should contribute to the less fortunate and needy. There is no better joy than touching someone's life and making it better for them or helping someone when they are down and in need. I believe TPF is the perfect channel to get in touch with people in need without being worried about corruption and being deceived. I was amazed at the quick actions of TPF on disasters such as recent wildfires or earthquakes.
During college applications, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to attend college because of financial reasons— however, Turkish Philanthropy Funds has truly brought me the greatest hope I could have ever imagined. Thanks to TPF donors, I’m able to go to college to pursue my dream of becoming a neurosurgeon.

I’ve been a Board Member and Donor of TPF since it’s founding and it is the most impactful US based non-profit related to the Turkish community in the US and Turkey! It’s focus on Gender Equality, Education, Social and Economic Development and Disaster Relief are all areas that it has made a huge impact on through philanthropy.
When earthquakes and wildfires have devastated communities in Turkey, TPF has immediately mobilized emergency response and directed donations to networks of local and well established organizations that are on the frontlines. But TPF's involvement goes beyond by staying involved with reconstruction and long-term issues (such as rebuilding, job training and cultural preservation). It's this dedication to a continuum of commitment and impactful philanthropy that is so admirable. A gift to TPF goes far and I've been very proud to serve as co-Vice Chair of the Advisory Board to see how this work has made a real difference.

We all, at one point in our lives, needed help or had received help from someone. Otherwise we wouldn’t have made it this far. So when we are able, we should also lend a hand to someone else. Making a difference in people’s lives and seeing it with your own eyes is perhaps the most satisfying thing a person can do. I have been experiencing this feeling through TPF since 2007 and I am so grateful for the wonderful friends I have made because of TPF.
I am one of the 2022 recipients of the Sena Eken Schieber Economics Award. As someone who was introduced to Economics in the second year of college, I could have never imagined I would receive the prestigious Sena Eken Schieber scholarship to study Economics in the United States. I believe this scholarship raises awareness and encourages more women to study Economics. Sena Eken Schieber is a great role model for Turkish women. I am excited to be a future ambassador for the program while honoring Sena Eken Schieber. Without this scholarship, I would not be able to study at my dream university in the US.
