Mission: Tulsa air and space museum's mission is preserving oklahoma aerospace heritage to inspire science-based learning through discovery.
Programs: Public awareness - admission to museum and planetariumpromoting awareness and inspiring interests in applied aeronautical sciences among students and the general public. During the year there were 52,230 visitors to the museum and planetarium. Volunteers are available to explain the historical significance of the aircraft and artifacts on display in the museum. A variety of planetarium shows are rotated throughout the year.
educational - tours were conducted for 31,230 students and teachers. Of this number, 4,240 were admitted free of charge due to grants donated to tasm during the year. A total of 9,800 students visited the museum and planetarium with adults who accompanied them. Additionally 114 students participated in workshops and camps at the museum.
facilities rental - tasm rents the museum and planetarium for personal and corporate events. Many of these events are educational in nature and/or feature access to the museum where visitors may learn about the exhibits,programs and use the interactive displays. These events raise overall awareness of the museum's mission in the community.
