This was my first time volunteering and my first major trip abroad on my own. To start with, Tropical Adventures was one of the few organisations I found that enabled me to work on a project for a short period - in my case for 1 week - which is great, because unfortunately I do have a job to get back to :-) this enabled me to experience something very special, working on the sea turtle protection program, as well as adding some tours and seeing more of this beautiful country while I was there.
Being fairly inexperienced in the travel business, I was glad to have Scott organising my trip seamlessly and looking after me while I was there, always quick to reply to any queries I had.
My week at Romelia was an exciting and very rewarding experience! I saw things and animals I never thought I would see that close. The people at the camp were lovely, fun to be around, very helpful and made sure I was part of the team despite my very limited wildlife experience (and barely existing spanish skills)!
I loved the vibe, I loved the food, I loved the place!!
I was pleasantly suprsed by the experience i had with Tropical Adnentures. I had been to Costa Rica before and had a pretty good idea what to expect getting there. Scott from Tropical Adventures took great care to organize our itinerary to fit into our tight schedules. The actual sea turtle program was very worthwhile, and exciting. The volunteers were all awesome, and scott and his agent also kept in contact with me during the trip to be sure things were all ok.
The tours offerred were varied and the ones we did were fun and seamless,as Scott had organized pick up and drop off shuttles for each excursion. Same for the ride from the airport and back to the hotel. Great attention was paid to detai. And finally, the prices were fair.
If my experience is the norml then i would be happy to recommend any volunteer experience through Tropical Advetures. I myself would go again.. Very Good Job.
From day one, I absolutely loved my experience with Tropical Adventures. From beginning to end, the same person was contacting me and creating my schedule and itinerary and she even stayed in contact with me while I was in Costa Rica and changed my plans while I was there. There is someone in Hojancha who lives there and works for Tropical Adventures to show you around the town so you have things to do while not volunteering. The volunteer projects that Tropical Adventures sends volunteers to are truly great and I enjoyed them a lot. I would recommend Tropical Adventures to anyone!
