Trinity Rescue is a piece of heaven in this crazy world. I started volunteering a year ago at Trinity Rescue, little did I know the impact this place would have on me and my family. I have been an equestrian most of my life & have a deep seated love for horses. After loosing my horse 15 years ago, getting married, & having children, I knew it was finally time to get myself back into the horse world. I found Trinity Equine Rescue through a friend and decided to start volunteering. A short time after I started my husband and children wanted to join me in volunteering, it's now a family affair! We have met amazing people that are now are FARMily, I have been able to teach my children about hard work, how to fix things when broken, and patience. They have learned what it takes to care for these beautiful creatures and how to help them when they are sick/injured. Things they don't teach in a classroom.Trinity Rescue is not just an amazing place for people, the true magic is in the rescued horses. The horses come to Trinity from all different situations. Some abuse cases, some hoarders, some abandoned, some from owners not being able to care for them, some from slaughter pens...it doesn't matter where they are from, once at Trinity they are loved wholeheartedly, nourished, and cared for. I've seen skin and bones rehabilitated into a beautiful majestic horse that becomes someone's heart and soul. I've seen dull clouded eyes shine with life and love again. What Trinity Equine Rescue does for these horses is truly beyond words. They give life back to the broken, both horses & humans.
I do not know how to begin to tell this story......so I'll just write from the heart. I worked with Joey in the corporate world many years ago. We lost touch. Then about 15 years ago I found his name on Facebook when he was working for another company and running the rescue with his wonderful wife, Cynthia. We reconnected and my then husband, myself and our little 2 year old grand-daughter went to the original farm to visit. There we met Xena (the wonder mini) Caramel, Twonkey and beautiful Greyson.(Cynthia's horse from years gone by that Joey found and brought back to the rescue) And we got to see Destiny as a tiny colt. My grand-daughter was amazed with all but especially taken with mini Xena. I have always sent what I could afford to help the whole crew and recently added Trinity to my will. Trinity was too far away for me to help as a volunteer and then I had moved out west. When I came back to GA the rescue was in new digs in Rome, Still to far from me. We visited with grand-daughter and new grandson....Xena was still the star. It is amazing to me that these 2 special people are able to do what they do with a regular job and the rescue......but then their success also counts on the awesome volunteers who help with the animals every day. Probably partially due to her visits to Trinity my grand-daughter has decided she needs to ride and is now taking horseback/barrel racing lessons locally where we live........thanks to the visits to trinity to discover how wonderful equine life is. I cannot say enough good things about Trinity and how they work with other rescues to help where needed. It is a large job to handle equine ( and the other animals they have on site)in addition to holding down 9-5 jobs. God love the volunteers for their help and I am very happy to donate what I can when I can........Joey and Cynthia rock in my book. Thanks guys!!!! They are the BEST!!!!!!

Second try.......first review didn't take. We love Trinity Rescue. I know Joey from a job in the non-horse field....
It is very obvious that Joey and Cynthia are very devoted to their animals. They are concerned for the health, welfare, and happiness of all who reside with them. We stopped by a while back with our grand daughter and carrots for all the "buddies". We got to meet all of the animals and saw Destiny, who had just arrived. What a difference in that horse today! A real beauty!! Trinity has devoted and wonderful exercisers and other volunteers who also truly care for and love these animals. Joey and Cynthia do their best to make sure the horses end up with a better life!
I met Cynthia and Joey when they first started Trinity Rescue. From the beginning they brought extraordinary knowledge to helping abused or neglected horses. Each horse that comes through the gate gets individual care and plenty of love and attention. I have been impressed all these years at what they have accomplished and when I called for help, they jumped in with all their hearts. I will always have love for them both and respect for their dedication to the animals. They are top notch EVERY day and the animals thrive in their care. Never has a non profit been more deserving of any time and money people give to the Rescue and Sanctuary! The Best of the Best!
I’m a huge animal advocate and rescuer, so when I moved to Rome GA in Dec ‘23 I was thrilled to learn there was a horse rescue across the street! Since I have gotten to know Cynthia and Joey both as neighbors and fellow animal lovers, I can say with all honesty that this is one of the best run rescues I have ever ever had the privilege to work with. All of the animals right down to the barn cats received the very best care. Our volunteers are completely devoted and dedicated to the well-being of the animals.
I have been following this rescue for a while and have now had the opportunity to be a volunteer. The farm is amazing. The animals are so well taken care of and are so happy you have the horses, you have the minis, you have some donkeys and they are all so well loved. The staff and the volunteers are awesome. They all make you feel so welcome and are willing to teach you whatever you need to know to help them with whatever needs help with. I am looking forward to working with this rescue for a long time.
I love coming to this horse rescue . This group has a true devotion to horses and their care . It is a wonderful community to volunteer with .
I just became a volunteer and this farm is AMAZING!!! The horses are so sweet and so are our admin. I recommend volunteering here, it’s so fun and a great place to come when you’re bored and if you love animals!! I recently visited this farm and had an amazing experience with the horses. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making sure we felt comfortable and safe at all times. The horses were well-cared for and beautifully maintained. The riding trails were scenic and peaceful, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. I highly recommend this farm to anyone looking for a wonderful horseback riding experience! They do amazing work rescuing and caring for these beautiful animals. It's heartwarming to see the dedication and compassion that goes into giving these horses a second chance at a happy life. I admire their efforts in providing a safe and loving environment for the horses in need.
I had an amazing experience at Trinity! The dedication and care they provide to the horses are truly commendable. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to share their passion for animal rescue. It's heartwarming to see the horses thriving in such a loving environment. Highly recommend visiting and supporting this wonderful rescue farm!
I have always loved animals. Horses, in particular. I am genuinely impressed by the exceptional care and dedication that Trinity provides to their horses. The facility is impeccably maintained, and it’s clear that Cynthia and her team are deeply passionate about animal welfare. Each horse there seems to thrive in their loving environment, benefiting from tailored care and attention. Each horse has their own sweet personality that the team is well aware of for enrichment and care. It’s inspiring to see such a committed group making a tangible difference in the lives of these magnificent animals. If you're looking for a place that truly embodies compassion and expertise in equine rescue, Trinity at Pine Hill is a standout choice.

Trinity is truly extraordinary. I’ve spent my time for the past few years and I feel like I’ve found a family there. Everyone takes care of each other which builds an amazing team to take care of these amazing horses. Trinity advocates, cares, and protects the horses they come across. I’ve never met a more caring sanctuary that not only puts the horses first, but also the people who spend their time at the rescue. This place has done so much for me and I cannot be more grateful to experience Trinity Rescue. They deserve the world because they give their all to their rescue!
My visit to Trinity Rescue and Equine Sanctuary was unforgettable. I loved getting to interact with the animals, especially during the feedings. The sanctuary is beautifully kept, of the workers do such an amazing job.
Trinity is doing amazing things! Taking care of these animals is not easy and the care they show towards each and every one is heartwarming. I have seen them in action and they really have their hearts in it.
Trinity is a great place doing wonderful work. I enjoyed my time up there earlier this year. Cynthia and Joey are so welcoming and willing to show you around and tell you about each of the different animals. Their passion and love for each of the animals is very apparent. I enjoyed getting to hear about all the different personalities of the horses, miniature ponies, donkeys and dogs.
I was looking for a horse rescue to get my 11 year old daughter involved with horses, a place where she could see what it looks like to take care of a horse.
Trinity does a wonderful job at this. The horses are helped, and you walk away with a greater sense of connectedness.
The staff and owners are so kind and knowledgeable. They show you how to get evolved while keeping your safety a top priority.
I have learned so much about horses by volunteering with my daughter at Trinity. It hasn't hurt my status as "best dad ever" either.
Dads, if you have a little girl, bring them to Trinity, you can thank me later.
Cynthia and Joey are committed to the physical and emotional well-being of the horses 150%. Truly an amazing rescue that puts their heart into every horse they get.
I have volunteered at Trinity for over 7 years now. The love, care, and devotion they provide for their entire herd is AMAZING. I am so blessed to be involved with all of these lovely people and sweet creatures. Carrie Barie
My husband and I started volunteering at Trinity about a month or so ago, this is an amazing rescue and Sanctuary!
The owners and all the volunteers are truly amazing and have given these horses a great life to rehabilitate and thrive!
It has been a great experience and truly therapeutic to volunteer and love on all the horses, donkeys and goats!!
This rescue is truly dedicated to the physical and emotional wellbeing of every animal they bring in. The owners are some of the nicest people around and love horses with their whole heart!
Trinity rescue is an incredible place ran by incredible people. They have great knowledge about the animals and their needs. It’s provided me a safe place to learn about horses and gain comfort around.
Trinity Rescue and Equine Sanctuary is an amazing organization. The owners and lead volunteers are skilled, experienced, and very friendly and welcoming to all volunteers, regardless of their level of experience/knowledge. However, what's most impressive about this rescue is the passion, love, and humor with which the rescue members welcome unwanted, neglected, aged, abused, and surrendered equines into the sanctuary herd. Rehabilitation is clearly not these people's profession, but their passion. Trinity Rescue is the perfect example of a relatively small organization making a big difference--or, as they say, "changing the world four hooves at a time."
I started volunteering at Trinity Rescue and Equine Sanctuary a little over 1 year ago and I couldn’t imagine life being any different. I always loved horses and they have always been my favorite animal even though I never had any interactions with them. Me and my mom decided to Google horse rescues near me and Trinity was the first one to pop up. Once we started volunteering we couldn’t stop because of the amazing people and horses involved in this organization. There was one horse though that taught me everything regarding horsemanship and that’s crazy horse a.k.a. Cray cray, cray, trot trot, messy boy, etc. And I now couldn’t imagine life without him. I definitely found my heart horse here and even some of my heart people. I would recommend this rescue to anyone and everyone. It has changed my life and I believe it can do the same for you if you take the time and come volunteer with these sweet souls.
We were living in north ga.snd had to move out of state..due to illness..we heard of this rescue..checked it out..we had a high end dwarf..just s sweet little doll..he fit in right away with a little girl mini...they had several minis..a nice barn set up for cold weather..Give them the highest marks.
Trinity Rescue has been a part of my life for over 7 years. I have never volunteered for any other organization that did more for me than I feel I've ever done for them. The amazing work Trinity Rescue does in saving, rehabilitating and rehoming horses is nothing short of millions of miracles. Watching these abused, abandoned, starved, and neglected animals find life again through the love, nurture, vet care, training, knowledge, experience and tireless effort provided by Cynthia and Joey and the wonderful volunteers is one of the most rewarding opportunities life can provide. Just ask all the magnificent animals who are alive today because of Trinity Rescue.
Love being a part of Trinity!! The work is supposed to help the horses, they seem to heal us along the way.
Trinity goes above and beyond! They always put the animals best interest first! They are welcoming to any and all that want to volunteer!

I have watched this rescue from the idea coming into reality to their current growth to a second facility. The endless compassions and energy they put into every horse that crosses the doorway ofTrinity Rescue is awe inspiring. They do everything within their power to give them happy healthy lives free of pain people caused them, from their physical ailments, or mental pain. I respect the choices Trinity makes for all the horses in their care.
Trinity Rescue is a blessing for both its horses and its volunteers. I have never felt more welcomed and at home than I do at Trinity and it has quickly become the only place I want to be after a tough week. All the horses are so full of personality and can easily bring so much joy when needed.
The owners, Cynthia and Joey, are so passionate and knowledgeable and it shows in everything they do. They have the biggest hearts for horses and are driven to save the world 4 hooves at a time. I could go on forever about how amazing this rescue is, but I instead encourage you to go check it out for yourself. Whether you have years of experience or are brand new to horses you will be welcomed with open arms. Go meet the horses, volunteer, or help their mission in any way that you can because this is truly a place worth supporting.
The way they know what every horse that they take in needs is amazing. Volunteers are so friendly and fun. Any amount of help is so appreciated by Trinity owners.

Trinity seems to know what every individual horse needs, as a volunteer it amazes me every time how every horses needs are met. They are a wonderful sanctuary for these horses to be re- homed after being rehabilitated with love!
I was only able to volunteer at Trinity for a couple months but it was probably the most rewarding time spent for me. The care that they provide for these amazing animals that have come from some pretty horrific situations is remarkable...they truly care about each and every one of these magnificent animals and allow them to either retire and live out their days peacefully and comfortable or be adopted out to a loving home/ family. Thanks for all that you do!
I love volunteering here. It’s a nice break from all the craziness in my life like school and work and I wish I could volunteer more. The people are welcoming and amazing and I just love spending time with the horses so much. I hope to one day open my own sanctuary and it everytime I volunteer it makes me push for that goal more and more
I have had the pleasure getting to know the volunteers at Trinity Rescue over the years working on several of their horses. I have always been impressed with their compassion, dedication, and professional integrity. This is an amazing group of people!
Trinity is and will always be not only a rescue for horses but for people. This is a place where you can go and find something bigger than yourself. The horses and volunteers will always cheer you up and put a smile on your face.
Being able to work with the rescues and watch them go on to find their forever homes are some of my proudest moments. I worked with a rescue and not only did I change her life, she changed mine. I will forever and always be grateful for this rescue. Not only for saving horses lives, but for helping save mine.

This rescue is absolutely amazing. They always put the needs of the horse before anything else. Volunteering here is such a amazing experience every time.
My daughter has had a love for horses for longer than I can remember. She is a quiet yet strong willed sweet soul. We started volunteering at Trinity Rescue when she was around 11 years old. It was there that she discovered her passion and saw a path for her future, Vet school and future Equine rescue. It was also there that she fell in love with a young horse named Destiny... how fitting that after years of begging, hidden notes, presentations about why she should be able to own a horse, countless Single request Christmas lists, that we would finally ( years later) surprise her with a pony for Christmas named Destiny!
Our entire family have loved how Trinity Rescue has changed our lives for the better. We are forever changed. ❤️

I have so enjoyed getting to participate in caring for the horses at Trinity. Each one knows they are special and all have special needs. I am privileged to be able to help.
Trinity Rescue and Equine Sanctuary a true heaven for horses on earth! I know first hand the love and dedication Joey and Cynthia Heaton provide for these amazing creatures. You see, TRES borders my property. From precise measurements of Scheduled feeding times to daily care and grooming the horses at TRES are shown amazing love! The roaring of the side by side means it's feeding time. Every afternoon, as Joey and Cynthia feed their babies are ecstatic to see them. It absolutely is a beautiful site to witness these daily relationships. We are so thankful to have TRES in our community in Rome,Georgia.
I have known Trinity Rescue for about 2 yrs. All of the animals are taken care of as you would your own child . I have seen on first bases how much they love and care for them from bathing to taking them to the vet. They are hands down the best very passionate and comparing people.
Trinity Rescue is great rescue! They care and love all the horses! We adopted Jessie from them back in March 2020 and are in love with her. She is such a good girl and she is my daughters horse. They have built a bond that will be forever! Trinity Rescue helped us with her and continued training to this day to make sure she will have the best life and never have to want for anything again!! Thank you Trinity for allowing us to have Jessie part of our lives!! ❤❤❤❤
This place is amazing. When you think of a horse rescue sanctuary there's a lot of people out there that are terrified of horses or have never even really been around them but they're the most gentle animal you could ever be around. I have two sons one is 13 one is 9 and taking them there has been a major change in their life they've went through some hard, hard stuff that no child should ever have to go through as much as they have been through, buy them there It has been amazing seeing the change in them and how much the horses lift their spirits. They love the horses and the horses love them and they recognize them every time that we go and they just come and running. My husband is really fine if one of the many horses there Xena. He says that's his girlfriend and she always recognize him and he always has her a special treat when he comes. There's just something about a horse that is so special you'll just have to see it for yourself but I'm telling you it is an amazing feeling.. thank you Trinity Rescue for everything that you do and that you have done for my family.. love always Chavers Family
Wow. Where do I begin? I am so lucky that Cynthia hired me to trim the horses at her rescue. As a farrier, unfortunately, when I hear the word "rescue" I wonder if it is of quality standards, because some are unable to provide for the level of care rescue rehab horses need. Boy, I am dumbfounded at the level of care Trinity Rescue provides for their equines. They feed high quality diets, keep their stalls incredibly clean, have lots of pasture space for the horses to be horses, have exercise and training programs, get regular farrier and vet, and dental work done, and i could go on and on. I think the fact that they have such long term volunteers speaks to the level of their professionalism and kindness at the heart of their charity. I have an even extra special place in my heart for them because I adopted my sweet pony from them. Trinity is top notch!!
Trinity has an AMAZING staff, team of volunteers and facility, and they take on some really tough equine cases. I work for a North Ga Animal Control Department and we recently had a horse owner contact us requesting assistance in placing a horse with a rescue after he had been diagnosed with cancer on his eyelid see photo 1. Trinity was immediately willing to help this family and not only take on around-the-clock personal care for Chief but also a tremendous monetary expense to develop the best possible treatment plan for him. If you will look at their Facebook page and follow the posts about Chief the horse from Murray County you will see that this had been a roller coaster for all of them. Yet they continue to shower him with love and their followers/volunteers continue to pour in donations to try to help Chief. They have many other horses also who have have been rescued by this wonderful group and been given an opportunity to live their best life.
Trinity Rescue and Equine Sanctuary is an exceptional organization that I have been actively volunteering with for over 5 years. The people are great to work with. The horses and donkeys that the rescue takes in are given a thorough evaluation and decisions are then made regarding diet, medications and other things. The love and care that they exhibit to these animals is incredible and they make sensible, sound decisions about a situation. The people at the rescue is also wonderful in teaching new volunteers about each horse's situation and about the operation.

I have been an active volunteer at Trinity Rescue & Equine Sanctuary for over 3 years now, and I am happy that I did not miss this great opportunity to help in any way that I can to rescued horses. Cynthia and Joey Heaton are the founders/owners and they say this is a dream come true for them. The truth of the matter is that not only have they helped our horses, but they have also helped people to get to know all about horses, which leads to loving them and everyone else who frequents the rescue. It is unimaginable the amount of friendships (human and equine alike) that have developed here. Everyone is courteous and loving. I can sense that the horses are all happy here until the absolute right person(s) come along to adopt them. Then, or course, it is a bittersweet situation and I can guarantee you that any adopted horse will never be forgotten. Trinity Rescue is truly a wonderful organization and I am thrilled to be a part of it; learning more and more every day.
I honestly cannot remember if Trinity Rescue found me, or I found them. I was looking for a place to volunteer with my daughter a few years ago where we would be among animals in need of help. This was initially to help my daughter with anxiety. In time, I found myself showing up, without my daughter. I realized that these wonderful creatures were helping me as well. Trinity Rescue has such an amazing, selfless heart! From the owners Joey & Cynthia, to all of the volunteers that dedicate their free time to help things run. When you see a horse arrive from a horrible situation you ask yourself a few questions: How could someone do this? Why did they do this? Will they ever feel safe again? Well I can answer the 3rd question: ABSOLUTELY! From the time a horse arrives, they are tended to with every bit of care that is required. Trinity knows just how to ease them back to feeling safe again. It's truly an amazing sight, and Trinity Rescue is an amazing facility!
Trinity is ALL about the horses. Every dime is spent to make the life of each horse, mini and even the very necessary barn cats healthy, safe and happy.
Horses, as you may know, have incredible recall of incidents in their lives. To rescue one of these injured, abused and traumatized animals is a HUGE commitment to re-write those horrible experiences and bring them back to trust and happiness. Trinity as a scrapbook full of such stories.
Trinity staff and volunteers shine in the eyes of these animals. Come experience the miracle first hand any time you are in Georgia.
Great place to volunteer! As a new comer to large animals everyone has been very helpful in every aspect! They treat all their horses as if they are all their own, going above and beyond to make sure all the animals have everything they need!
I’ve been a volunteer with Trinity Rescue for 2 years and have made lifelong friends, as well as meaningful memories loving on the sweet ponies! The owners and all lead volunteers make decisions with the rescued horses best interest in mind as well as their health and wellness. I love Trinity Rescue!
This is an outstanding group of loving, dedicated people who work so consistently hard to improve the lives of horses in need. This wonderful organization deeply cares about giving the very best life to their four legged residents.
Trinity Rescue is one of the most carrying a compassionate rescue groups I have ever come across. I am in the veterinary field and have also done rescue myself and they go above and beyond. Cynthia and Joey are always willing to answer any questions or give us recommendations, just absolutely wonderful people. I wouldn't recommend anyone else after dealing with this amazing rescue.
I’ve worked with many non-profit organizations over the years and Trinity Rescue is among the most professional groups I’ve seen. The leadership actively participates, all new volunteers are required to attend an orientation with at least one of the owners. This sets a consistently high standard of commitment to Caring for the horses and goats among all team members.
The standards are upheld every shift by a highly competent and good-natured team leader. The place is well-run and organized. I ❤️ trinity horse rescue!!!

I give this nonprofit 5 stars because they are making a huge impact by working with abandoned and abused horses and finding them loving homes. They are saving these horse’s lives and providing them everything they need and more. They work with them to show them that not all humans are bad, and teach them to trust again. They are also patient with all the horses and they always make sure the horse is comfortable and safe. I volunteer with them and they have taught me so much about how horses respond to certain things, how to calm them down, and most of all, how to make them feel truly loved!
I wanted to be involved with helping horses. A friend of mine highly recommended Trinity Horse Rescue. She read all about the rescue and supports it. She is a horse lover as well, has had horses, and boards them. My 12 yr old grandson and I volunteer there every Tuesday evening. The horses are well taken care of. If they need medical attention, they get it right away. The needs of each horse are met. The facility is top notch. We have been volunteering there since January of this year. We both love it and love the horses! I appreciate, so much, the Heaton’s and the work they do to give horses the best care possible.
I have been helping to train the rescue horses at Trinity Rescue for several years. It is one of the best rescue that I have helped. They make sure that every horse that comes to them is cared for at top notch level. From rehabilitation to trained for a forever home, every horse is special.
Cynthia and Joey truly have hearts of gold. The love and care they give to horses in need are beyond measure. My heart was broken following the loss of my gelding companion of 27 years, when someone told me about a sweet gelding recently arrived at Trinity Rescue. His owner had passed after a long battle with cancer, but prior to his passing, he asked Trinity to find a good home for his beloved buddy. When I saw him, I knew we were meant to be together. Cynthia was incredibly welcoming, kind and understanding. She made the process smooth and communicated with me in a timely and detailed manner. Jabez joined our family and is very much loved. In visiting Trinity Rescue and staying in touch, it is clear just how very dedicated Cynthia and Joey are to their mission. They are a gift to the countless horses and donkeys they rescue and to those of us who are fortunate enough to be honored to be given the opportunity to share our lives with them.

Trinity Rescue not only rescues horses, but people. They certainly rescued me. I had lost my Arabian heart horse who had been with me for 27 years. Needless to say, my heart was broken. The loss of a beloved pet is very difficult and healing takes time, so I wasn't looking for another anytime soon. But one day a photo jumped out at me on Facebook and tugged at my heart. It was a sweet Arabian, Jabez, who had just recently come to Trinity following the loss of his dear person. Once I saw that photo, there was no question about contacting Trinity to meet him. Cynthia was nothing short of amazing. She was so kind and helpful as we navigated the adoption process. After meeting and riding Jabez, I knew that we were meant to be together and both Cynthia and Joey made it happen. I was so touched as they showed me around their beautiful facility and introduced me to the other special souls they are caring for with kindness, love, attention and the best of care. Everyone who volunteers there truly loves what they do. Trinity Rescue is a magical place. Cynthia and Joey are as dedicated as they come. We are so very fortunate that they provide an amazing service. Jabez and I are truly grateful.
It's really hard to know where to start with describing my experience with Trinity Rescue and Sanctuary. I have been involved with Tirnity Rescue for 7 years now since they started. Not only have I learned a LOT about horses and horse care, but about myself and others who are there to help the rescue also. The owners and leads are always willing to teach horsemanship, care, and everything you want to know and could know about horses. They've built a great community in dedicated volunteers that not only shows in their verbal and celebratory appreciation for them all, but you can see and feel that the volunteers care just as much too. I've seen amazing transformations from horses who were so malnourished and couldn't stand (and helping to get them back up) to beautiful creatures that some are beyond recognizable because of their regained health. Not only does Trinity change these horses lives physically for the better but works to improve their minds by building trust and discipline through love, kisses, ground work and other knowledgeable and respectful training! Such an amazing nonprofit which is why I tell everyone about it and always support them.
Trinity Rescue, where compassion, integrity, and determination are just a few of the attributes seen at this rescue. Compassion for each animal, no matter the circumstance is so clearly evident. Integrity in how they operate, at all times, is seen and heard in interactions. Determination to help heal the bodies, minds, and hearts before finding a forever home to continue the same love and care.
I have my two heart horses as life partners because of this rescue and I highly recommend anyone looking for the same to visit Trinity Rescue!
I only visited once for an orientation and volunteered (had things going on and live about an hour away). But I could tell the horses are loved and well cared for while I was there.
Absolutely love this place and everyone involved! They are doing amazing things to help the horses. And make barn chores fun while volunteering their time and effort
Trinity rescue is one of true love and dedication not only to the horses it saves but also to anyone who walks through their door! After losing my beloved, well known Atlanta news brother inlaw, Capt. Herb Emory my daughter and I decided to do a charity fund. After much research we felt Trinity rescue was on par with Capt Herbs values and love of animals! Never meeting Cynthia before we showed up and were given the full tour, met all the rescues and told of their past awful stories! Cynthia was full of excitement and sorrow for she too was a fan of Capt Herbs! During our visit she showed us a pregnant mare that they had rescued and was ready to deliver at any time. We left that day with our hearts full and Cynthia with a check and supplies... life is good! A few months later I see a facebook post that the mare had delivered a healthy colt and Trinity had named him Captain!! Yes the tears flowed and of course when the time came he was destined to be mine!! Funny how people can come into your lfe and change it forever!!

Trinity is an amazing rescue. The Horses thrive here and Cynthia, Joey and all the many volunteers genuinely care about their wellbeing.
Trinity is an amazing organization. Their capacity for compassion and selflessness are an inspiration for us all. So grateful for the refuge they provide so many neglected, abused and unwanted equines.
Trinity Rescue has been such a blessing to our family. When my family was ready to welcome a pony to our family for my daughter, the Trinity Family was so patient with us in searching for the right fit! Cynthia did not give up on us and I was so surprised to find a message from her while we were on a family cruise. She sent pictures of Clara and said she thinks she may have the pony for us! Well she was so right! Emma visited Clara a few times and the staff was so generous of their time in helping us tack, letting Emma ride, telling us all about Clara’s story, and giving us as much time as we needed to decide if she was the right fit! We have had Clara at our farm for just over a year and we are so in love with her! Thank you to all the Trinity staff!
We are so lucky to have Trinity Rescue in our lives. Our family is new to the world of equines and could not have managed without their help. Trinity Rescue tirelessly assisted our family with horse education while we searched to find the perfect companion for our pony. All horses in Trinity’s care receive the very best care AND so much love from all the volunteers. We are beyond thankful for Trinity Rescue and all they continue to do for horses and the entire equine community.
Trinity Rescue is a one of a kind place. They are a prime example of giving back to the community by means of high school students doing projects and many other functions. Their expertise in horse care shines by viewing the before and after pictures. I have seen horses come in near deaths door, only to be rehabilitated into beautiful creatures. In addition to the love and care that Trinity offers the horses, it is a wonderful place to volunteer...great people are the owners and the volunteers truly love what they do.

I started working with Trinity Rescue in February of 2017 after a sudden tragic death of my only child. I went to coumseling, but wasn't getting what I thought I needed during what is the most difficult time of my life. I prayed to God daily, asking for peace, love and understanding....I also prayed for God to help me find a purpose that would help in the healing process. Well, God does work in mysterious ways....I saw a friend had posted a picture working at Trinity as a volunteer....I knew immediately that's what I needed to do.
I cannot begin to tell you the rewards I have received from the rescue. The owners are absolutely wonderful, loving caring people...not just for the care of the horses, but for each of the volunteers....there are a lot of volunteers and they know each by name and have a personal relationship with each of us.
They are eager to share their knowledge for caring for these horses, ensuring that they receive the individual special needs required.
In the short time I have been there, I have seen several abandoned, abused, starved horses rehabilitated to the most amazing, beautiful animals.
Trinity goes far beyond the call of duty when they are notified of horses in need. In addition, to the full time job of the rescue, they both have "regular" full time jobs.
Trinity is a blessing to the horses and to all of the volunteers. My soul was (is) broken and so are the new rescues. Together we are healing.
Trinity Rescue is dedicated to healthy new beginnings for horses. The owners and volunteers are top notch horse lovers. The volunteers are compassionate, organized and dedicated to providing excellent care to all the horses and ponies...with roomy stalls and gorgeous pastures to boot. Definitely 5 star operation.
Trinity is close to my house and I love volunteering there. You can tell everyone there loves horses and just wants to give them the best care they deserve. They truly get rehabilitated through the love that the volunteers give them.
I have been volunteering at Trinity for over 2 years. The horses that come through the rescue are treated to some of the best care available for horses. They have stalls cleaned daily, thoughtful turn out, careful leadership, well organized regular volunteer scheduling and frequent projects to get everyone involved. Nothing is spared to make sure these horses have the best food and vet care while they are with us. Only the best homes are good enough for our rescues so the horses will never have to experience anything else like what they have already been through. I have never seen such a wonderful rescue!

I have been volunteering here for over a year. I have seen so many horses come in fearful and starved for nutrition and love. They get fed, loved and trained. They become confident, loving and happy. All of the volunteers that I have met have a high level of commitment to the animals and to the organization. It is a great place to give time, effort and love.
I started volunteering at Trinity in September 2017. My sister and I rode at what used to be a lesson barn and is now Trinity Rescue. We decided we'd go check it out and I couldn't be happier that we did. I've met so many awesome people through Trinity! It's amazing the love and passion Cynthia and Joey have for these beautiful animals and the time they spend ensuring their happiness and safety. I've come to love all the ponies and even formed many friendships with volunteers! Trinity is Awesome!!
God bless Cynthia and Joey. You could never understand how much time they spend Helping these horses. I admire and are grateful for people like them.
This is a wonderful organization. Cynthia Heaton and her husband have sacrificed their lives to give these beautiful animals a second chance. God bless them and all the volunteers that dedicate countless hours to help.
I rode & owned horses before I went to college. They were the best years of my life. I miss my horse so much. I read Cynthia's story about finding her childhood horse & how she rescued Greyson. It spoke to my heart. I never found my horse but helping rescure other horses & knowing they were someone's special horse makes me feel prevliedged to volunteer at Trinity. All the horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules are loved & cared for at Trinity!! It's truly a special place

I started volunteering a year ago at Trinity. I have never seen more care, commitment and passion. The owners and other volunteers pour their hearts and souls into the mission of saving abused and neglected horses.
I recently started volunteering at Trinity and I've already felt the blessings. It is clear Cynthia does what's best for the horses and constantly is thinking how to make their lives more comfortable and full of love. I am amazed at the Trinity takes with getting each horse to trust humans again and find loving homes. I'm a horse lover to the core and I'm excited to continue helping Trinity change lives.
Trinity Rescue is a blessing to horses and volunteers alike. I have had the honor of volunteering with of the most kind hearted folks and the most content Horses I've ever met. Trinity Rescue is the read deal. They are absolutely devoted to saving horses and they protect these precious creatures with a passion that is relentless. I love working with Trinity Rescue! They are amazing!
I have nurtured a love of horses since I was 3 and spending summers on my grandfather's farm. My daughter inherited this same love and we feed our passion by volunteering at Trinity. We have been a part of Trinity for 2 years and are proud to be part of a loving rescue family. The joy of grooming horses and cleaning stalls is not only helping the horsess, but it is therapy for our souls. The Trinity family is loving and embraces the true meaning of love and giving back. They are incredibly caring and create a warm and welcome environment in which to be.
Trinity Rescue is such an awesome place to volunteer!! They take some of the worst abuse and neglect cases I have ever seen! And with the love, compassion, medical care, and food they provide, these horses have their health and their hope restored!!! Their goal, for every horse, is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome each and every one of them, no matter how long it takes. They are committed and value every life and inrich the lives of horses and humans alike!
We were in search of a riding companion for my granddaughter, her riding instructor contacted trinity and told her what we were looking for.. At trinity we found Snow White the complete companion for Jacy. They met one afternoon and snow was so sweet and gentle. Jacy groomed and talked and kissed snow constantly. We left and Jacy told me she loved her and they needed each other....
We put the application in and set the ball rolling. Month later we went to pick up snow and the journey began. What a great group of people at Trinity rescue. When we visited snow we were constantly given updates and told how sweet she was and what she liked and how well she was improving. They knew her personality and you could tell all the animals were treated carefully and cared for deeply by the staff and volunteers . Cynthia made the process with a purpose driven of finding the right place for snow with a piece of her heart she placed snow with us and we have grown to love her so much. We board her at Silby farms and Sam and ms. Sandy have helped and taught us so much about caring and taking care of snow. She gets so much attention from all the girls that take lessons and everyone loves snow, she is so gentle and sweet and was a perfect fit for a sweet, timid young rider. Thank you Trinity, Cynthia and volunteers, for giving your time and the hard work it takes to maintain a place for the needy
Resourceful and needed place.
I've seen Trinity Rescue do some wonderful things with the horses they've rescued in the past few years. It's wonderful that this committed group are willing to help horses that have been injured, neglected or abused. They also coordinate with other rescues in the state and offer assistance to them. I'm happy to support their efforts.
Trinity Rescue does amazing work. The countless hours and energy that these horses are given is nothing short of miraculous. I've visited the heard a few times and the staff and horses are all incredible! Love this place!
Trinity one of the most wonderfully run rescues I have every had the privilege of visiting. The barn and surrounding pastures are always clean and beautiful . All the animals are so well cared for! You will never meet a more caring bunch of people. I could never say enough nice things about Cynthia and Joey. Biggest hearts ever! TOP NOTCH non-profit!
I came across this rescue and Cynthia and Joey after I moved out of Georgia and returned for a visit. They were so welcoming and accommodating. The horses are well cared for and the property is beautiful. I had a life long fear of horses and now I follow every update and feel bonded to all in their care. I wish I were back in Georgia as I would love to volunteer my time. All the horses are so curious and happy with the attention they receive from their humans.
I have been volunteering at trinity for a few years now and love every minute! Its a great place to volunteer no matter what your horse experience is. I am always learning something new!
The owners and volunteers take exceptional care of all the horses and provide them with a loving environment. Not only does trinity care for their own heard but they are always helping out other rescues as well. Love being here!
I love Trinity Rescue! I've volunteered a a few horse rescues before but this one is by far the most organized one. The team members really care for the horses and do everything they can to help them. Most of the horses that make it to a a trinity improve dramatically over the course of just a few weeks. The horses are even introduced to training for rehomming. Such a clean and friendly environment, it makes you never want to leave!
Trinity Rescue is a heaven-sent haven for horses that have been discarded and/or abused. Joey and Cynthia Heaton, the owners, have hearts of gold! The rescue horses and donkeys are family to them; as are the volunteers! I treasure my time volunteering, and am so thankful for such a place!

I cannot say enough great things about Trinity Rescue!! I have truly found a second home there as a volunteer, and wish I could come out 7 days a week. Cynthia & Joey Heaton have provided a safe haven to Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Rehome these precious horses that need to be saved! The horses are part of the family, and the adoption process is designed to create a forever home for their future. The volunteers are part of the family, too, and are able to be involved in all areas of horse care and operation of the rescue. I strongly recommend them if you are looking to adopt a horse, volunteer, or support a worthy cause!!
Trinity Rescue is a "top notch" organization run by amazing people. They are honest, caring and extremely passionate about what they do. I adopted my mini horse, Thor, from them a year ago. Also, I recently took over a local mustang rescue and the owners of Trinity Rescue have been very generous in sharing their experiences with me to help me improve our organization.
I was one of the very first volunteers with Trinity when they opened their doors. The folks at Trinity have such a passion and love for horses and it shows through their many success stories! Trinity's mission is to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome. They work closely with a great team of horse experts and other horse rescues throughout the state to find abused and neglected horses and provide them with the best care available. Trinity cares about the horses they rescue beyond just bringing them back to ideal physical condition; they are also committed to ensuring emotional healing as well. The work doesn't stop there. The final part of rehabilitation involves discovering the horses natural talents and abilities and providing training to ensure the horse can excel in it's new home. This helps prevent the horse from being at risk of winding back up in a neglectful or abusive situation. Finally, Trinity insists on finding the perfect home for each rescue. They are not afraid to tell a potential adopter "no" of they feel it's not the right place for the horse. When a horse arrives at Trinity, you can see in their eyes that they feel defeated, they've given up hope. Some won't even let humans touch them. Over time, you can see the light return in their eyes. Their personalities begin to shine through and the hope and trust in humans returns! Trinity is a little piece of heaven on earth.
I love Trinity! We use to volunteer and we adopted a horse from them. I love what they do and everything they stand for. They will welcome you with open arms!
Trinity Rescue is an extremely well organized , caring and compassionate group of animal lovers that I'm happy to volunteer for.
Until recently, I had never volunteered at Trinity but only appreciated their horses from afar. I live near their farm and have seen amazing miracles being performed over the years since they've opened. Complete transformations have taken place with their rescues.
One time our family dog escaped and was lost for two days. Knowing that in his younger years him and his brother would escape and always go down to the farm, I had a feeling he was there with the horses once again. Not giving up, I went down there one evening in the rain. We found out that he had wandered onto the farm and they took him in. Our sweet boy was old, almost completely blind, and partially deaf but he made his way to a safe and calming place. Not only had they taken him in, fed him, bathed him, but they let him rest with a newborn mule, Miracle, in her stall. Mira is now amazing part of the Trinity family and we all adore her. We brought Samny home and sadly later that year he crossed the rainbow bridge. I find so much joy knowing that my beautiful boy and his tender soul found sanctuary on their farm. Deaf, blind, and obviously arthritic, he wanted one last adventure and he chose Trinity Rescue for that! I'll forever be grateful for their open hearts because he may not have been able to come back home had he gone elsewhere.
The Trinity family is extremely welcoming, dedicated, and go above and beyond to ensure the very best for every living creature they encounter. It is happy place and well worth your time, investment, and dedication. I encourage everyone to engage with them however you can!
I volunteered at Trinity for over a year before recently moving to TN. It was my pure pleasure to be able to bring two of the rescues to my farm in June. Joey and Cynthia transported both ponie's for us - a 3 and 1/2 hour drive - something that was so appreciated! These two wonderful people have so much love and admiration for each and every Equine and human that walks through their doors. Even post adoption, I still have questions, which are always answered and advice given. As a newer horse owner - I can't tell you how much these folks mean to me! I miss the rescue terribly - but I know Cynthia is only a phone call away when something comes up with my ponie's in which I'm not sure how to handle. Love, love, love what they do for those horses in which they are able to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome.

I have been volunteering since early summer at Trinity. Cynthia, Joey and the other lead volunteers have taught me so much about how to correctly care for horses - in sickness and in health. There is not a question that has gone unanswered that wasn't delivered with an eagerness to share knowledge. Although I cannot be there but a few hours every week - I am excited every time I do get to go. What an amazing job Trinity has done to Rescue, Rehab and Rehome these babies. I absolutely love my time at the barn, Not only for the amazing people but also for the love that is shared with these amazing animals. What miracles have come as a result of their time, attention, skill, passion and dedication to allow these horses to experience a happy home. Thank you for the amazing work you do each and every day. xxxoo
My daughter and I have volunteered at Trinity since February. We drive over a hour one way to spend time with the caring, compassionate people and those beautiful creatures in need. I personally am quite afraid of horses but my daughter loves all animals, especially horses. Everyone that I have come in contact with has been truly understanding and empathetic of my fear and make sure that I am comfortable in whatever task I am assigned. The owners and lead volunteers spend quality time educating my daughter on proper care and nutrition of the animals. The veterinarian even recruited her as an assistant for the day. Volunteering here has been without a doubt, a life changing experience for both of us.
I've appreciated Trinity allowing me to volunteer at the rescue. I came having little experience with horses but willing to learn. Trinity has offered me the opportunity to learn about and grow in caring for horses. The rescue truly cares about the animals. I've appreciated the lack of judgment for owners who surrendered horses to the rescue ... keeping the focus on the horse who needs critical care.
My fiance and I have been volunteering at Trinity Rescue for the last 6 months and spend every free day we have there. Trinity cuts absolutely no corners when it comes to animal care, providing great turnout, stall cleaning, exemplary veterinary care, and even chiropractic care.
Trinity is our family and we are so proud to be such a small part of a powerful non profit organization.
My daughter and I have been volunteering there since February and we love it. Not only do we get to help, learn and grow as horse folks. We get
Loved on by some of the most lovable horses on the planet.
As Trinity's farrier I have observed nothing but TOP quality care of these horses. I am always amazed at the love and attention each horse personally gets. If I were a horse, there is no question about it, I would want to live at Trinity!
Having volunteered with numerous rescues, both equine and canine, and having adopted a horse from another rescue and having fostered numerous dogs over the past few years, I can say with certainty that Trinity Rescue is by far one of the most organized and well run rescues I have had the pleasure of working with. The barn is always clean: the stalls are picked, the aisles are clean, and the barn is clutter free. The horses are always clean, brushed, have hay, water and food. On any given day, you can find Cynthia or Joey personally caring for the horses. I have worked with equine rescues in the past where I have questioned the appropriation of funds and the care of the horse. I have been to rescues where the person is a figure head, but not personally involved. I don't question where the monetary donations are spent at Trinity. I look at the well fed, well supplemented, properly shod, properly trained horses and know where the funds are spent. The proper rehabilitation of an abused or neglected horse can be in the tens of thousands of dollars. To the former volunteer raising questions as to how the funds are spent, how the volunteer hours are spent, and how much is made for boarding, I would to like them to consider the untold hours that Joey and Cynthia spend taking care of these rescues into the dead of night. Consider the fact that Joey and Cynthia, along with other lead volunteers, drop everything to rush to a rescue of a starving horse, or to the barn to spend the night when there is a colic case, or to ensure that mother and baby are safe during a foaling. Consider the MANY THOUSANDS of personal dollars that Joey and Cynthia have contributed to the rescue, that they will NEVER get back and I know that they don't care about that, when donations are low. The horses in their care NEVER suffer. They have spent thousands having surgeries performed on horses to better their quality of life. Horses that other rescues would not take in because of the costs. Consider the fact that Joey and Cynthia have very few personal horses and consider the fact that they reduce the rent for the lead volunteers based upon these peoples unwavering commitment to the horses. I would also ask you to consider that this is a very common practice at many horse rescues. I would suggest, since it sounds like you have never personally been involved on the actual rescue side, that you try fostering or rescuing and see how you run things. I get donations for my foster dogs for food and yes, I feed that same food to my dogs Why? Because I also pay thousands of dollars a year out for my fosters. I pay out more for the fosters than the donations I receive that I use for my personal dogs. I would strongly suggest that you amend your comment because you are causing harm to a rescue that 100% puts the health and welfare of the horses first. I am proud to call Cynthia and Joey not only friends, but partners in saving the unwanted and discarded. What have you saved lately?
The mission and purpose of our rescue since we accepted our first rescue horse onto our farm in 2012 is to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome unwanted, neglected or abandoned horses in Georgia. We absolutely understand that running a successful rescue is a multi-faceted operation which includes the daily care of the horses, farm upkeep, managing the financials, managing the volunteer program, scheduling, managing vendors, fundraising, and continuing education to name a few. We have enjoyed and been blessed with some amazing volunteers and equine professionals that we have worked with over the past 2 1/2 years. But from time to time, we are required to make tough decisions to discontinue relationships with both vendors and volunteers that do not align with either the mission of the rescue or our core values. We do not take these decisions lightly, and we recognize that in some cases our decisions may not fully be understood or agreed with by some. Our commitment will ALWAYS be first and foremost to the health and well being of the rescues in our care, as well as the well being and safety of our volunteers as a whole. We go to great lengths to provide a welcoming, safe and respectful environment for rescue horses and to all who choose to visit or volunteer with us. In those cases where we have had to part ways with either volunteers or vendors, it has been and will continue to be our policy to not publicly discuss the reasoning for our decisions, nor engage in ANY type of social media or public mudslinging, as we find that practice both distasteful and unprofessional. We WILL, however, continue to focus on the horses first, advocate for animal welfare, share our knowledge, and welcome all those who wish to share in our mission Additionally, we will continue to be respectful to those who don't provide us the same courtesy, because our values require it.
We so appreciate all those who have supported, encouraged and followed us on this incredibly rewarding journey in rescue, and we look forward to many more years of rescuing horses in need.
ATTENTION PROSPECTIVE VOLUNTEERS! My concern is that this is a rescue; however, about half of the horses in that barn are privately owned, BUT Trinity Management tasks the volunteers to provide the same care for the privately owned horses as the volunteers are required to provide for the rescue horses, but without compensation. The owners of the privately owned horses theoretically pay board (I do not know definitively one way or the other, but I have heard the bill per horse is around $200/month, a bargain) which usually includes remuneration for work, such as stall cleaning, feeding, etc.: all tasks currently done by volunteers. Also, Trinity has "community service" volunteers provided by the local government and paid by the tax payer (these individuals have been sentenced by a judge to do community service for minor law violations). The Board members board their private horses there; some of the positive reviews are by those who board their private horses there (yes, some of the owners volunteer a handful of hours per week, but not equal the hours required to care for their own horses). Volunteers should take care of ONLY rescue horses and should not take care of privately owned horses unless paid a competitive wage. Finally, Trinity is a 501.c.3 non profit rescue that puts all of the feed, shaving, supplements, etc. in communal bins, used by both rescue and privately owned horses: seems to me to be questionable use of the federal tax non profit tax program.
I have also volunteered there for 2 years. The rescue's mission is Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome which is exactly what they do. I believe they stand out in rescue as they work hard to give the horses the training that they need to ensure that they find a forever home and do not end up back in the rescue cycle. Trinity uses every resource they have available to ensure the horses get the care they need and even take in cases with medical issues that many other rescues can not take in. Trinity then gives these horses the vet care that they need and look for a good placement for these horses. Trinity uses exercise riders and trainers but just like any volunteer organization, these trainers and exercisers are not paid. They volunteer their time to ensure the horses are ready for the next phase of their lives. All of this training is overseen by the owners of Trinity who invest a large portion of their time and money in to the mission of this organization. They have a large volunteer base and could not function without the volunteers that come to help. They welcome anyone who is willing to volunteer their time to do all of the daily work that is needed to care for all of the horses at the rescue. They invest the time to teach volunteers that are new to horses and welcome them into the barn with open arms. They truly care about all of their volunteers and take the time to get to know them and offer many volunteer appreciation celebrations throughout the year. They are always working to make the running and organization of the rescue the best that it can be for the benefit of the horses! After all, rescue is all about the animals and at Trinity it is the horses!!!!!! I adopted my horse from Trinity 13 months ago and they worked with us to make sure we were 100% ready for horse ownership. They are very through in the adoption process to help ensure that the horses stay with their new family forever. They keep in contact with adopters and are very interested in the progress of the horses and their forever homes. They are always available for owners to contact for help and advice with their horse. They hold training clinics at the rescue and horses that have been adopted out come back to the rescue for training. I wholeheartedly recommend Trinity if you are looking to volunteer your time at a rescue or if you are looking to adopt a horse.
It makes me very sad to write this review, but I think it is necessary for reviews to be up to date and accurate. I began volunteering Trinity Rescue in July of 2014 as a regular volunteer, but because of my previous experience riding I was soon promoted to exercise rider. I logged over 100 hours during the the summer of 2014, and though I am now a freshman in college, I still managed to spend my weekends home from school at the barn working with the horses up until the beginning of February 2015. I also went through the adoption process with one of the rescue horses, but it unfortunately did not work out. I became acquainted and worked closely with the trainer that they had been using for over a year when he was in town for a two week training session in August, and have continued a professional relationship with the trainer as he offered me a job as his personal intern, separate from the rescue. Where this story goes sour is when the trainer and the rescue made a mutual decision to discontinue their professional relationships for matters unknown to me. After the termination of their partnership, I was unfriended on Facebook and barred from the volunteer Facebook page and the training interns page where we posted our progress with the rescue horses in their training programs. I was not notified that I was no longer welcome as a volunteer, or that there was even an issue. When I tried to contact the owner of Trinity Rescue to inquire as to why I was not longer included in these facets of the rescue, she never responded. I feel the need to point out that my job position with the trainer was completely separate from the rescue, and that I never had voiced my own interest in leaving the rescue. I considered the two separate in my mind. All in all, while Trinity has it's minor faults like over half of the horses being personally owned and currently no professionally trained horsemen handling the animals, the bigger issue is the lack of professionalism and the immaturity shown on the part of the management, and the lack of consideration for someone who donated a considerable amount of unpaid personal time to their cause.
My daughter and I volunteer at this wonderful rescue and have seen first hand the quality of the care these horses receive. Cynthia and Joey, who run this facility, are personally invested in their mission to help these animals fully recover and hopefully get to be adopted into loving families. They are exceptionally dedicated to meeting the individual needs of each horse and its special circumstances, and so are the volunteers. My daughter is a training intern working to help the horses learn or regain their ground manners and skills under saddle. I am a massage therapist and enjoy spending time with my hands on the horses relaxing tight muscles and socializing the young ones. This is an amazing place and we feel blessed to be able to help!
lovely lovely rescue. the barn facilities and horse care are all so well organized so that every horse has the right food, the right meds, grooming, hoof care, handling, turnout and training. not to mention love and pats and smooches. I have been so impressed and grateful to this rescue for the job they do and love the give. facilities are well maintained and the whole rescue is just a center of good people and good deeds. love this rescue.
I have worked with horses for over 15 years now and this organization does the best job I have seen yet. They have exceptional facilities, eager and willing volunteers, and it runs like a well oiled machine. I have worked with horse rescue groups in the past, but this one stands out in the crowd. The heart, hard work, dedication and success of this organization shows in every one of their horses and volunteers. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to learn about horses. They teach all of their volunteers everything about caring and even riding horses. They do an exceptional job!
I have worked in the equine industry for 37 years. I have worked with several different horse rescues. Trinity is the only one that is completely dedicated to EVERY aspect of a horses rehabilitation. Trinity is a the forefront of the equine rescue community because of the intense committment of the volunteers. Trinity has been able to conceptulize plan and institute what are really cutting edge programs for a horse rescue. Such as the Training internship; which provides an oppourtunity for shilled young riders to have real world, hands on experience with horses that exhibit behaviors they have never seen before at the show barn or lesson program. The use of the volunteer talent pool to be able to do outreach programs with underpriveleged and at risk youth. Providing clinics on groundwork, horsemanship, colt- starting and so-on. Trinity Horse Rescue in the very near future will be the model that all other successful equine rescues follow. The mission Rescue, Rehab and Rehome is what drives every person at Trinity no one is above any task and no horse is beyond our ability to help.

I have worked in the Equine industry for over thirty years. I have been around several different types of horse operations. The folks here at Trinity are some of the most genuine people I have ever had the privilege to work with. At Trinity it is ALL ABOUT THE HORSES! from Cynthia and Joey to the newest volunteer. The people at Trinity have one unified goal; To help horse have a better life. Trinity surrounds itself with positive enthusiastic people who may not know everything in there is to know but want to learn everything there is to know. I am so proud to be affiliated with these people. The atmosphere at the barn is so joyful, full of love and laughter. I cannot recommend this rescue strongly enough. Volunteer at Trinity, feed a horse and feed your soul. "The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man." Ray Hunt. Being at this barn with these horses and people will change your life I promise. Tim Matthew
I attended a new volunteer orientation in April 2014. I had zero horse experience but knew that I loved animals, so thought I would give it a try. I have completely fallen in love with Trinity Rescue. Everyone who spends time there is welcomed with open arms. The environment that has been created for these horse has inspired me to want to learn and do as much as I can to help out. Regardless of the level of experience you have, Cynthia and the rest of the lead volunteers are willing to take the time to teach you. Throughout my experience I have learned so much about how to handle horses and to contribute to the environment that will help them heal and rehabilitate.
In my short time volunteer I have seen the volunteers pour their hearts and souls into saving horse that otherwise would not have made it. Even when there seems there is no more space left to help even one more horse, Cynthia and Joey figure out away give horses in a need a place to go.
I would highly recommend this organization to any volunteer that has a love for helping animals!!!!
My daughters and I have been volunteering at Trinity Rescue since April 2014. I am so grateful and love my time here. We try to volunteer at least once a week. It has been such a blessing to get to know Joey and Cynthia and the other volunteers. We really look forward to our visits each week. By volunteering we have had the opportunity to learn more about taking care of the horses and to see what it takes to run a nonprofit. I have always had a love for horses, now I get the opportunity to have first hand experience. Through this experience and an ever growing desire to help rescues and at risk children, I am in the process of creating my own non profit program that pairs rescue horses up with at risk children in hopes of making a difference in their lives. Joey and Cynthia are always open to answering any questions we may have. Joey and Cynthia have created a family atmosphere among all the volunteers. We may not be related, but when we are there we feel like family. I cannot say enough good things about this organization. I pray that they will be around for many years to come! Thank you Joey and Cynthia for everything you have taught me and my children.
I visited the farm as a volunteer to ride some of the horses. I was shocked at how disrespectful "Cowboy Tim" was and how unappreciative Cynthia was. I have ridden and owned horses more most of my life and held trainer positions. I was made to believe I had the position when after spending the entire day riding and doing ground work I was told that "our styles wouldn't work together" by Cowboy Tim and asked to leave. I was never thanked for my time or even given a tangible reason as to why they didn't want me. Additionally it took Cynthia two weeks to respond to my messages and emails about volunteering. For a charity organization, they sure are snooty!

The Training Internship program is a newly launched program with our rescue, and is one we believe will be incredibly beneficial for both the rescues in preparing them for adoption and for the interns who will be learning fundamental training skills. It is completely separate from our general volunteer program, as the interns are interviewed and selected based upon best fit for working in the rescue environment in conjunction with our head trainer. I can completely understand that you were very disappointed at not being selected for the internship. You of course were always welcome to volunteer, however, once you commmunicated that you were only interested in a riding position we were left with the impression that you were no longer intersted in volunteering. Again, I am truly sorry that you were disappointed at not being selected for the internship, and I wish you the best of luck with your equestrian pursuits.
I have been a volunteer at Trinity Rescue for almost 1 1/2 years now. Cynthia and Joey Heaton are two of the most amazing people I know. They are very cordial to everyone who come to the rescue. They are very thankful for all help received- and constantly let you know they are thankful. They happily welcome all volunteer types from the inexperienced who wants to learn to the person who has owned their own horses and are avid riders. They create an atmosphere at the barn that is calming and peaceful making it an escape from the fast paced world we live in. And then there are the horses!! If you ever look at the before and after pictures of the horses you will know that they are knowledgable in what they do! They constantly research what is in the best interest of the horses to rehabilitate them EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY! They are very careful when rehoming the horses to ensure they do not fall back in the same situation they came from. Cynthia and Joey constantly think of the safety of the volunteers as well as the horses to ensure it is a safe and calm environment. Trinity Rescue is an amazing place to be a part of!!
I have known the couple that run the rescue for quite some time, but had the opportunity to go to their facility today and ride one of their horses. I have been a professional rider and trainer doing hunters and equitation for 12 years. I have visited quite a few rescues and have adopted from two previously. I have seen way too many bad rescues and far too few "good" rescues. From what I saw today, I can honestly say that Trinity Rescue is one of the good ones. All horses were in good weight, all were clean, all were friendly and had been handled (if you have ever seen a "rescue/hoarder" situation, you know why this is so important), the round bales were gorgeous and they actually use the same hay supplier I used to use. They feed a good, personalized feed program, and everything in the barn and pastures was safe, and tidy.
I got to see the barn before they purchased it and it was in a great deal of disrepair. Now, however, they have gone leaps and bounds with the property, the stable, and the indoor and outdoor arenas. Their horses have manners, and it is a very quiet facility. All of the horses were comfortable and happy. I couldn't have been happier with my visit. They do most of the rescue funding out of pocket and do NOT rely on donor funds to live themselves. The donor money goes straight to the horses - why else would both of the owners have outside jobs (duh)?
I, for one, as a local trainer and neighbor (I live 6 miles away) am happy to see a horse rescue within the "metro Atlanta" area. This rescue has the opportunity to reach more people and raise the horses' plight. I was thrilled when I went there today. To say it was beyond my expectations would be an understatement.
As the founder of a non profit horse rescue organization in the same county at Trinity Rescue, I have had wonderful experience with Cynthia and Joey and their volunteers. There is such an abundance of needy horses throughout out state, we have worked together to help more horses. When they had a downed horse, we came to help. We when we took in a nearly dead horse, they came to help us literally carry this horse out of the trailer to the stall, and it was 1 am. That is dedication to the cause of helping horses. They rehabilitate horses and find suitable for the horses. They help teach our community about the responsibility of ownership and good horse care. I am proud to be associated with them as partners in the horse community and rescue community.
I have been a volunteer and donor to support the efforts of Trinity Rescue Inc. for the past year. The passion, sacrifice and dedication of the owners is evident in everything they do. The wonderful work they do to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abused and abandoned horses is nothing short of miracles. It requires a lot of money to feed and care for horses and many owners just choose to starve them or sell them to slaughter. Trinity Rescue does so much to save many of these magnificent animals and give them a second chance to have life, depending exclusively on their own hard work, volunteer help and donationed funds. If you are a horse owner, a horse lover, or just someone who wants to be part of saving animals you are missing something if you do not support this tremendous nonprofit. Working with Trinity Rescue and helping the ponies has added some of the greatest joy I've ever had in my life.
My husband and I visited Trinity Rescue with our children to check out the organization. We were welcomed in and shown EVERY aspect of the rescue. Nothing was hidden from public review. We noticed right away how there was a large number of volunteers of a wide age range. This was important to us as we wanted to volunteer as a family. Each person was assigned age appropriate tasks to do while being monitored by one or both of the founders. We made a point to come back unannounced for another visit and found the same well run organization. Our family saw previously owned, discarded horses being showered with love, attention and care that they had not seen in a long time. Groups of horses "playing" with volunteers in the many pastures and others being exercised and trained in the various rings by other trainers and volunteers. The horses could not be in a more caring, loving, well run environment. This is definitely a rescue I want my family to be involved with for a long time to come.
At face value the organization appears to be good for both the people involved and for the horses. Upon further investigation this appears to be quite false. When one thinks of a horse rescue one does not think of a barn that is almost 50% privately owned horses that are boarded for less than FREE. Donations to the rescue help to cover the cost of feed for those private horses as well as the rescued horses. Additionally donations are spent for other supplies and necessities for those private horses along with the rescued horses. One of the biggest issues seen by professionals in the horse community is that volunteer hours and resources are spent in the husbandry of all the horses on the property rather than just the rescued horses while the boarders are not paying any fees to have those services provided. Due to the lack of of available volunteers in the organization, roughly 8-10 regulars, most with less than average horse experience, the horses get very little exercise or individualized care which is truly unfortunate. As for the owners, the husband and wife have been seen doing such things as having screaming bouts at each other while trying to load scared horses onto trailers, among other less than professional activities that would include bad business practices, poor relations with volunteers and behavior that is unacceptable for anyone claiming to be caring for animals from less than ideal situations.
I started volunteering at Trinity almost a year ago. Being an active rider most of my life, I was inspired by their story and wanted to do whatever I could to help. Joey and Cynthia are some of the nicest and most genuine people you will ever meet. The moment you step in the door, you feel like you're a part a huge family. They treat their horses with the best care and are willing to do whatever it takes to save them and give them a better life. I love the people, the horses, and everything about Trinity. Being a part of this rescue is a life changing and inspiring experience, and I know they will continue to be successful for many more years to come :)
I met Trinity Rescue Inc and their founding members at a Tack Sale in their honor. I realized that they
had their heart and minds in the right place. Its all about the horses and training and rehoming them.
Joey and Cynthia don't just talk the talk but they walk the walk and put everything they have into this rescue.
I sponsor Picasso a beautiful, loving colt who was set to be killed. You can tell from Picasso's personality and great ground manners even as a baby that he is treated with respect and love.
The volunteers at Trinity are the best - they go out of their way to do all that they can. And because of that they make me want to do all that I can for the Rescue and the horses.
I am trying to fund raise for the Rescue for the "Put the right hoof forward fund" which is for training these horses so that they will have more confidence and be able to have jobs when rehomed. This is very important for long term homes.
I have watched this organization grow from day one. Joey and Cynthia purchased the property and equipment to run this dream rescue out of their own pockets. They may have spent every penny starting this place up. They started with a few horses, and now, nearly every stall is filled with horses that were once discarded. Every horse comes with a story and every horse has started a new journey.
What makes Trinity so awesome is that that the founders really believe in their mission. I encourage everyone to visit Trinity and meet the horses, hear their stories and see where you can lend a hand. You will walk away touched by their work. Please help support their mission, they are doing BIG BIG things to change the lives of horses in need.
Our Barn wanted to have a tack sale / fundraiser for a local Horse Rescue Group. I found Trinity Rescue on an internet search and made an appointment to meet them. From the moment I walked in the door, Cynthia and Joey were the most kind people you would ever want to meet. They have an amazing story about starting the Rescue and they put their entire beings into the Horses. They have an amazing family and group of Volunteers that work right along side of them and keep this operation moving forward. The Horses come first! These animals are treated with such love and care when they land at Trinity Rescue. All the folks there have amazing Patience and give each horse whatever individual attention it needs. It is quite amazing to see so many success stories and see the Before and After Pictures of the Horses they have helped. I plan on having a long relationship with this Rescue and continue to build relationships with these amazing people!
I have worked in the capacity of hoof care professional for several rescues in the greater Atlanta metro area. I am honored to work with Cynthia and her whole crew as they work unceasingly to bring horses back from the edge, whether that be mentally, physically, or both. I consider Trinity to be a gold standard in equine rescue, and encourage anyone considering adoption or donation to take a closer look at Trinity.
Since I began volunteering almost a year ago at Trinity, I have learned so much about loving on and caring for horses. The atmosphere is so inviting and the family dynamic is amazing here.
This rescue was founded on the principle that all living creatures should experience a life free from neglect, abuse and disrespect. Since the doors opened in October 2012, more than 100 volunteeres have been welcomed and trained to assist in the rehabilitation of more than 30 horses. Forty of the volunteers are active with the rescue on a weekly basis. Trinity has assisted in the rescue and placement of an additional 35 horses through the combined rescue efforts of the Horse Rescues United of Georgia. Each rescue horse that comes to the farm is provided exceptional care, from medical, dental, hoof care to constant love and attention. They are taught that humans can be worthy of trust, and that there is hope for a better life. Once their physical rehabilitation has been completed, then the rescues are provided training to prepare them for a new life. Trinity has been fortunate to work with some amazing trainers who provide up to 90 days of saddle training for eligible rescues. To date, 12 horses have been adopted into their forever homes. I am very proud to work with the dedicated volunteers in saving these amazing animals.
