Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Community Improvement & Capacity Building, International, International Development, Mental Health, Mental Health & Crisis Intervention

Mission: Tributaries International promotes care for children, mental health training, and leadership development.

Results: Every year we equip over 300 community workers in developing nations to recognize and respond to mental health needs. From 2006-2017 we helped to provide meals for 400 children in Uganda and school fees for over 100 children. Translated Ebola educational materials for French-speaking areas and used our network of contacts for distribution during the West Africa Ebola crisis.

Target demographics: healthcare, mental health, children

Direct beneficiaries per year: Mental health and counseling training for 520 people; interventions for 168 children.

Geographic areas served: Globally

Programs: Most people go to a church, social worker, or medical clinic when they are struggling with stress or mental health issues, but these workers don't always know what to do. Training church and community workers prepares them with an understanding of mental health, mental disorders, grief, and trauma along with basic counseling skills. This helps more people get the help they need, when they need it.

This is a team of highly professional individuals with huge hearts for helping others in so many areas! My husband and I have been financially supporting Tributaries International since it's inception and Friends of Touch prior to that. Their dedication to mental health has resulted in tremendous positive outcomes, for the individual to the family, to the community. The training they provide is top notch. We are so happy to be a part of this team!

This Organization works very well at equipping people who have experienced hardships and trauma to their communities by equipping and training leaders to meet the challenges helping those struggling to overcome their difficulties. I joined them on a trip to Nepal and was very pleased to see their professionalism, dedication, and love to serve the needs of the people there.

I have worked with the Friends of TOUCH since 2006. This organization is one of integrity and true love of children. I have met many of these kids in person and watched them grow from shy down cast children with no hope to ones who express true joy and have plans for their future all because someone cared enough to help them. They are truly grateful for the chance to go to school and better their lives.

They provide not only education but much needed nutritional meals and some medical care. Some of these children were literally saved from death by the care provided from this organization. I highly recommend this organization because they follow through with their promises and work diligently to improve the lives of kids.
