Causes: Education
Mission: Established in 2015 in livermore, california, the tri-valley nonprofit alliance serves organizations throughout the san francisco bay area. Tri-valley nonprofit alliance (tvnpa) offers regular opportunities to meet and collaborate with peers to enhance the talents and strengthen the skills of the dedicated people who work and volunteer in the nonprofit sector. The organization provides industry-relevant seminars, collaborative discussions and networking opportunities at monthly meetings and events. Tvnpa serves as a fiscal agent for the tri-valley anti-poverty collaborative (tvapc), a cross-sector collaboration formed to address issues of hidden poverty in the tri-valley area. Tvapc works to increase access to affordable housing in the region through media, planning and advocacy, and promotes multi-sector collaborations between health, education and food access the reduce the impact of poverty in the tri-valley.
Programs: Membership in tri-valley nonprofit alliance grew as a wide range of nonprofit organizations and individuals became paid members. Tvnpa hosted 11 programs throughout the year. Nonprofit experts volunteered their time to educate attendees on a wide range of topics including: gratitude, planned giving, grant writing, developing strong boards, databases, creating corporate partnership, cyber security, event planning and nonprofit accounting. 40-125 people attend each program. Programs gave attendees the opportunity to network and collaborate with others working and volunteering in the nonprofit sector. The 3rd annual tvnpa grantmakers panel in may attracted attendees from throughout the san francisco bay area. Membership in the tri-valley anti-poverty collaborative (tvapc) grew to 161 members. Tvapc meetings were held througout the year and included 4 key leadership team, 11 housing committee, and 12 health, education and food access committee meetings. The task force held its annual meeting. Additionally, a community convening and community listening session was held. Through tvapc collaborations, a tri-valley needs assessment survey for cities of livermore, pleasanton, and dublin was completed and a partnership was facilitated between open heart kitchen, alameda county community food bank (accfb) and axis community health (axis) to expand food distribution. Tvapc also promoted a collaboration between the livermore joint unified school district, axis, accfb and child care links for health education, food distribution, literacy materials and parent education.
