Tri State CART sent volunteers to help in N.C. with Hurricane Florence and immediately following their return, they were sent to Blountstown, FL to help set up, stage, do S/R, arrange transports, help the residents dig out and established food/water stations. They also sat in on the Emergency Operations Center providing details on domestic animals and established a point of distribution to continue their efforts upon deactivation. Their volunteer training, skills and previous experience were desperately needed and appreciated in both locations. This endeavor could not have fully been met without the generous donations of the public. Thank you.

In 2018, Tri State CART was activated to set up the temporary animal shelter for victims of the second biggest flood in Ohio history. The shelter was set up in New Richmond and was active for 2 1/2 weeks. No animals were left at the shelter when it shut down. That is the ultimate mission for CART, save return of all animals from a disaster.

A great group of volunteers. These folks will respond to any location , any time, to rescue an animal. And not just the cute furry ones! They've responded to floods, to hoarding, to abuse, and have done it professionally with little notice or thanks. Several Cats, Dogs, Ferrets, Birds and even large reptiles are alive because of them.

Fortunately, I have never had to use the services of Tri State CART but it is comforting to know they are there IF needed. Last year when the tornados hit SW Ohio I saw the impact they had on the local communities by providing food for companion animals, and anything Bonnie Morrison is involved with gets a 5 star rating from me. You know it will be done right and that she truly cares.

Tri State CART helps in the SW Ohio Tornodo March, 2012. We were not asked to set up a temporary shelter for pets, but Tri State CART passed out tons of pet food to the SW Ohio Tornado victims in March, 2012. We set up a point of distribution (POD) in a donated storage unit supplied by Circle Storage in Amelia, OH where pet owners could pick up pet food. Our volunteers also hand delivered dog, cat and horse food to the impacted communities in KY, IN and OH. Once the evacuation was recinded, we gave the remaining pet food to the local shelters and rescue groups within the affected area so it could be continually distributed free to anyone who needed it. The pet food was donated and provided by P&G.

Tri State CART was instrumental in delivering over 40,000 lbs of IAMS dog food from P&G to the Adams County Dog Pound on January 29, 2011. We had previously help Paul Hughes, Adams County Dog Warden with the seizure, care and adoption of 87 dogs taken from the Nixon's. Once we saw his tiny little shetler, CART has been trying to do everything we can to provide fencing, cages, and other supplies to help improve the quality of life for the dogs. The Dog Warden brings in a lot of money for the county, but the Adams County Commissioners do not see the need to give any of it back to the animals. Every day Paul struggles with emotional decisions to keep up the shelter and care for the dogs that fill it to capacity. Several rescue groups are extremely helpful by taking animals as they themselves have room. Tri State CART is proud of Paul Hughes and happy to assist the Adams County Dog Pound.

Tri State CART was called upon to help with a 360 dog seizure in Clark County, OH Feb. 9, 2011. The collaboration between the Clark County EMA, Animal Control, Animal Shelter and the Ohio Regional Animal Disaster Response Teams worked from seizure, transportation, daily care to final placements with rescue organizations. This was a huge task and assistance came from PetSmart Chairities Relief Waggin, UAN EARS volunteers, Pet Alliance and the general public. Tri State CART volunteers spent their time and energy in caring for the dogs throughout the process. CART was honored to part of this endeavor.
