This wonderful organization has been beyond helpful to my family. Joseph Figueroa in particular has been extremely helpful.
- The Snipes
This wonderful non-profit was absolutely invaluable to me this year. After having work hours reduced due to the pandemic I was diagnosed with a very daunting medical situation which required immediate surgery and some long term treatment. Tri-Lakes helped me navigate through expensive medical bills and rent assistance during a time that was extremely tough. I would not have been able to get this critical surgery without their assistance and support. The staff is always incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and they truly care about each of their members. I am beyond grateful for everything they have done for me this year!
TLC continues to amaze! During the pandemic, TLC has gone over and above to help those in need in our community during times of uncertainty. The numbers continued to rise on the clients that need assistance during the pandemic and they continued to be able to supply everyone with the much needed essentials. The needs continue with the Snack Pak /Grab and Go and our Seniors in need. Each week, TLC meets the demand. Great job TLC!
I have been a volunteer with Tri-Lakes Cares for several years now and when I decided to choose TLC for my volunteer arena, I thought, gee, how hard can it be, just date a few cans once a week and put them on the shelves? Did I learn differently!
I thought I knew it all. They hand out food, canned goods in particular. They run food drives. But wait, they do so much more. They serve our community in northern El Paso county in ways no one knows. Their programs, such as Help Yourself Market, offers much needed fresh food. Their transportation program helps those who struggle with regular maintenance of their cars that are vital to getting to and from their jobs. Medical assistance, education, financial assistance towards rent or utilities, school supplies, snack packs, holiday meals, and the list goes on and on toward helping lend a hand toward self sufficiency for families trying to break the cycle of dependency.
Being involved has been an eye-opener. It’s a pleasure to serve, not just dating cans, but getting truly involved and having a better understanding of the greater need in the community.
Tri Lakes Cares fills a critical need in our community. Their staff is wonderful with top-notch leadership. I donate regularly both financially and in-kind and know I am making a difference because they use resources so professionally. Years ago I led a middle school aged Girl Scout troop and we worked with TLC on a specific project plus did some volunteering. Both were great experiences and instilled an ethic of "giving back" in a group of young women. They'll never forget that experience and I won't forget how accomodating and enthusiastic the TLC staff was with our group. Thank you for all you do!
Since COVID struck, Tri-Lakes Cares (TLC) has managed to:
1. Serve twice as many clients than before,
2. Distribute food every week rather than once a month,
3. (2 x 4 = 8, meaning they are distributing eight times as much food as before COVID),
4. Keep everyone safe by limiting access and adjusting schedules,
5. Find and train many new volunteers since many senior volunteers quit because of COVID,
6. Find new ways to keep the pantry shelves stocked,
7. etc,.etc,. etc.
TLC is a remarkable organization, and I continue to be awed by their creative ways to serve needy citizens in our community.
Tri Lakes Cares is a fantastic organization filled with many wonderful and caring people. We are so grateful for their support and everything they've done for our family. If every city had a TLC, we'd see a much different nation. Thank you for all you do and continue to do for this community!!!
The mission statement of Tri-Lakes Cares in Monument Colorado reads: "Tri-Lakes Cares is a community-based, volunteer-supported, resource center whose purpose is to improve people’s lives through emergency assistance, self-sufficiency, and relief programs."
What impresses me the most is that we are a volunteer-supported resource enter.
During this pandemic, unfortunately the walk-in food pantry is closed to the public. Taking its' place is an Army of volunteers filling clients needs and requests twice a week. We have the clients fill out a request form for all sorts of food, drink, health, and other items. The morning crew packages up most of the requested items getting those items ready for us in the afternoon to further fill requests with bags of breads, pastries, water and juice, "sundries" and produce - including dog and cat food. Each afternoon shift has at least five members of the Monument community.
Everyone is enthusiastic in performing our jobs and getting the product out to the clients quickly, efficiently, and with lots of care. When a client fails to show up or cancels their appointment, all of us volunteers are saddened and your can hear a collective sigh - sorry for that family.
I enjoy this community service and will continue as long as the pandemic directs us to do the work.
Our church wholeheartedly supports Tri-Lakes Cares. This is a wonderful organization that helps those in need, treating them with respect and dignity and kindness. I have been amazed at how the staff and volunteers have adapted to the restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic. They have continued to provide necessary services in unique ways. Thanks so much to the staff and volunteers for having hearts full of compassion and love. You are truly amazing.
I was new to the area, so Haley and Francisca took time out from their busy schedules to provide a tour of the Tri Lakes Cares facility in Monument. I was very impressed by how much they do for the people in their community, including assistance with food, health care, case management, job search, rent assistance, gas vouchers, school supplies, and even oil changes (and this is only a small part of their work). Thanks to the staff and volunteers for all they do.
As a donor and having worked with Tr-Lakes Cares from a business perspective for several years now, I have experienced the many benefits this nonprofit provides to the Tri-Lakes community. They are very professional as business partners and positive to the clients they serve. Especially during the pandemic, it has been challenging for all the nonprofits, and they have certainly risen to the situation providing diversified services and help to their many existing and new clients. They also adapted quickly to changing their delivery model to meet pandemic requirements.
My childern and I have been a client of TLC for sometime now. Because of TLC we have a chance at staying a float we truly appreciate their team and there passion for our community and familys. Thanks to TLC for everything we are truly greatful.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to TLC! My sons & I left Hawaii & my husband of 18 years. We returned to Colorado & reached out to multiple agencies for help. TLC assisted in every single aspect of needs we had from finding a home, financial assistance, and feeding the family. They provided resources that pointed us along the right direction. Now, less than 3 months later we are safe, warm, hopeful, & thriving! TLC actually does CARE about the welfare of their fellow human beings & does so with no judgement. Words cannot express how grateful we are for finding this exceptional organization. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! We are blessed to have your support, love, guidance, & kindness.
As a Board Member and volunteer, I see the tireless effort made by each team and Board member to assist every client in need of TLC services. Each individual and family is treated with compassion and dignity. The organization provides a unique service and the community has been overwhelmingly supportive, particularly during the pandemic. The clients are so appreciative and it is uplifting to hear their testimonials. It has been particularly rewarding to see how the Team Members at TLC were able to modify operations and continue meeting the needs of their clients during the COVID shutdown. They are truly a remarkable group of people.
TLC and the kind and helpful people have helped me very much. It's been life changing. When I don't have to use the money to buy food I can pay my bills on time. Avoiding late fees means I can have less stress. Less stress means I can function. I am so very grateful.
Over several decades, sometimes for a short while, lately for longer periods, especially in my difficult times, Tri Lakes Cares has helped my family and me in many ways. the little food bank has fresh food and I can have packages of food which helps enormously. Also, I have had some classes on food and nutrition, I've attended helpful events, and my dear old car is still okay thanks to TLC help. They are respectful and I don't feel embarrassed or sad receiving help, especially learning about many benefits available to me that I qualify for. I am very grateful for Tri Lakes Cares and all the people and volunteers that so lovingly and faithfully help people like me. I do my best in our community to serve when and where I can in a lot of ways, and TLC has helped stabilize me to thrive at home, even during the global hard times. I hope to be able to give back more to our community as well.
I would not be able to pick up groceries each week without TLC. They gave me the car I drive about 4 years ago and it is still going strong. I am eternally grateful to them every time I go to get a blood draw, go to a doctor's appointment or go to mass at church every Saturday evening. Haley, Joseph and Rachel could not be a better team.
I could not survive without tri-lakes cares. They GAVE me a car 18 months ago and now I can get to my 4 doctors appointments as sell as church on Saturday evenings. Paula Blair, my caseworker is especially friendly and efficient. She was the one who donated her car to Tri-Lakes and I got it from them in December of 2017. I could not give them a higher rating that 5 stars.
Tri Lakes Cares has been a source of great support for us over the years. Most people are able to prepare for their senior years by building up their 401 K savings. However a company I worked for for many years went bankrupt and before coming out of that bankruptcy our 401K's were devalued which meant that I lost years of savings and I was never able to build them up again. So entering our retirement years found us living on our social security which was not much. I finally went to Tri Lakes Cares out of desperation and they helped us tremendously. The staff is friendly and always ready to help and our case worker Rachael is an angle.
Thank you Tri Lakes Cares
I am a volunteer with Tri Lakes cares and find such fulfillment being able to help others while I can and everyone in the organization realizes how lucky we are in our lifes! What a great organization.
I have been volunteering at Tri-Lakes Cares for the past 11- years twice a week. It just makes my feel good helping others. The volunteers and staff are great to work with.
I have volunteered and served on the board for 2 years but have been interacting with Tri Lakes Cares for over 20 years. I have witnessed the growth of this organization becoming such integral part of this community. The staff and volunteers exhibit such compassion and warmth for the clients that's truly inspiring. The goals are to support the clients in their basic needs and to guide them to self-sufficiency
I have volunteered at Tri Lakes Cares for 8+ years. I have seen the need grow, especially during the pandemic. When everything was closed down a year ago Tri Lakes Cares came up with a plan to serve those in need in a new way. 2X/week volunteers pack groceries from the pantry from a list submitted by the client. That list is filled as best as can be from the pantry inventory. The client has a specific time to pick up their groceries (all masked) with very minimal person to person contact (which all we volunteers miss). The clients are treated with great dignity. Tri Lakes Cares has filled an enormous void!!!
I have volunteered at Tri-Lakes Cares for over 5 years. I have seen first hand how this organization has changed the lives of our clients. I volunteer in an area where I directly have contact with our clients. They tell me how our help has changed their lives for the better. They tell me they are treated with respect-never judged or looked down upon. I have seen clients that have risen above their circumstances due to the help they have received. This is an organization that is made up of amazing employees & volunteers.
When I was first introduced to Tri Lakes Cares, I was absolutely in awe with how much they help the community. I’ve done charity work since I was a little girl and it’s not very often that you get to volunteer at such a deep, helpful level. I have volunteered with Tri Lakes in many different roles! I have helped bring a literal one ton of food to them from a grocery store to donate at Christmas. I have gotten to hand out stuffed animals during a food drive for Thanksgiving and I can walk in on any given day and be put to some amazing jobs to get things done. This is by far one of my favorite non profits to volunteer for, it’s an amazing culture with staff that treats you like family. It’s not every charity that you can walk in and the whole staff knows your name. They know all of their volunteers and they know all of their clients in the community. Tri Lakes Cares is an amazing non profit and I know that the community treasures them deeply.
TLC is beyond caring, they are professional people who care about the whole person and family. They see each person for the season of life they are coming out of, not the place they are in.
We started our own company and found ourselves needing TLC to stretch our food bills and keep the lights on. At first I was very humbled to ask for help, but TLC staff, volunteers and ED allowed me to feel strength in this season of life. The professionalism and caring hearts of each person ensures htat TLC is the best of the best in Colorado [and I would say the whole nation].
I am a volunteer at Tri Lakes Cares. This organization shares so much with the clients in it's service area. I consider myself fortunate to be associated with Tri Lakes Cares. I enjoy interacting with the clients who come to TLC's for their needs. The staff are very professional & caring. The staff are some of the kindest people I have ever met. I consider TLC's to provide a much needed service in this area of El Paso County.
I'm a volunteer at Tri Lakes Cares & I can say that this organization helps many people of varying needs. The staff are very kind & caring & involved with the clients. I enjoy interacting with the clients & staff. Volunteering here has been as beneficial to me as it is for the clients served. I look forward to every Monday.
Our family has been tremendously blessed by TLC, the community, the volunteers, and the donors around the north end of Colorado Springs and Monument. We are so appreciative and thankful for the many ways the community looks out for each other and the selfless work that goes into making this a wonderful location for assistance. The TLC volunteers make you feel important and welcomed the moment you step foot in the door. They are a smiling group of people that are genuinely caring and have positively impacted our family, and many other families, on so many levels. We love TLC and what it stands for! We love what we have learned from TLC with our cooking, choosing smart grocery items, and utilizing the many resources at our fingertips. We look forward to being able to “pay it forward” on a higher level, one day, and we thank everyone so much for being so kind as we navigate through this roller coaster time in our family’s lives.
Tri lakes cares has been so amazing for my family and I. Everytime we come in everyone is extremely helpful and nice. Besides the wonderful fresh food for us and our dogs witch has been life saving. They also helped us by replacing our furnace in our RV home! Was the most amazing gift we could have ever asked for. My husband and I are struggling at the moment in-between jobs and trying to get back on our feet. Also about to have our first child, living in our RV in the middle of winter is pretty brutal. They connected us with a local RV mechanic and donated $1500 to replace the furnace! I cannot express my gratitude, it is literally a life saver and such a relief to have heat for our baby girl who will be here any day now. This is hands down the most amazing and helpful organization I've ever seen.
I have volunteered for over 8 years and have seen first hand how much TLC helps our community. I now sit on the board to help continue the mission to provide food, health care, and other services to the people of northern El Paso County.
I recently joined Tri-Lakes Cares as a new Board Member effective October 2019. As a community member and active business professional in the Tri-Lakes region, I quickly came to learn the impact this organization has in our local community. Looking to identify ways to immerse myself in the community, I was drawn to the mission and purpose that Tri-Lakes Cares has for providing services to the many individuals and families seeking assistance.
I had the privilege of volunteering at the December Holiday Food/Gift Distribution event and I learned quickly what this organization means to this community. So many people, various ages, have come to depend on the services Tri-Lakes Cares offers. It has become a safe haven, a place individuals and families can go to seek a variety of services to provide sustainability and comfort at times of struggle. This organization goes above and beyond to meet the needs of the community.
The business community and neighbors rally around the mission and believe in the good this organization provides. I am very excited to have joined this organization and look forward to continuing to meet the needs of the wonderful people in this community.
A couple years ago I found myself with time on my hands and went looking for a volunteer opportunity. I had heard a little about Tri-Lakes Cares and decided to find out more. I soon found myself part of a very compassionate and committed service organization doing a great many good things for this community and it's residents. I am very proud to be part of this organization and all that it does.
As a current Board Member, it brings much joy to become involved with TLC. When you walk into the doors of TLC, a warm and compassionate energy engulfs the facility. The clients are happy to be there! They socialize, they shop in the Help Yourself Market, they receive help with living expenses, medical assistance, educational assistance, holiday program assistance, counseling, and students receive school supplies and snack packs. Many clients have become volunteers and a few served on the Board. It's been a pleasure to serve an organization who goes over and beyond to help their clients get back on their feet.
tri-lakes cares has been there for my family in so many ways. In times where we had lapses of medical care/coverage-they were there to help until we worked things out. they have helped with LEAP, with medi-caid,and my kids are grown now with kids of their own-but tri-lakes cares has helped on holidays to provide in so many ways. As a grandparent of 2,as well as my household, I am on a fixed income-and the food bank helps me stock with basic necessities that save me so much at the grocery store because there are so many other expenses in life,. Thank you for all you do...
I have been Volunteering at Tri-Lakes Care since 2010, everyone at T.L.C. are like family to me. When things would go wrong in my personal life, they would be there for me. I look forward to the days I volunteer to be with them and help our clients. Its like a home away from home.
Tri-Lakes Cares is the only resource center serving northern El Paso County. Many of those in need in the community lack reliable transportation and so it is very important for them to have an agency nearby. Tri-Lakes Cares provides not only food, utility and rent assistance and much more, but also a sense of belonging and community. It is very important that Tri-Lakes Cares is able to continue with their mission.
Being a volunteer with Tri-LakeCares has many rewards. Whether it is working with other volunteers and staff members or meeting our clients each week, my days are energized with a true sense of sharing and helping others. I have been at TLC almost 10 years, working in the Help Yourself area. It has evolved into a wonderful food pantry with “state of the art” refrigerators and freezers that were generously donated from our Monument community. Our shelves, that showcase nutritious produce, breads, baked goods and pantry canned goods were built by a local Boy Scout group. We continue to find new ways to help our clients at Tri-LakeCares and our community continues to find ways to help us! As part of the Tri-LakeCares team, I salute this great non-profit organization.
Tri-Lakes Cares provides vital support to many community members who do not have access to local government support. The organization sets themselves apart from the norm by making every client they serve feel like they are part of a family and not just another number. The Tri-Lakes area would be a lot worse off without this organization's presence. Thank you to all donors, employees, volunteers, and board members for their continuing support. Without all of you there would be no Tri-Lakes Cares.
Over the last few years I have been involved with Tri-Lakes cares as a volunteer and a board member. One of the hidden needs is food insecurity with school age children. This has been
demonstrated to result in lower attendance, grades and behavior problems. Tri-Lakes Cares in cooperation with D-38 school system provides snack packs to children that may have food insecurity over the week ends. These are provided to around 400 children in elementary, and middle schools on a weekly basis. This program is supported by the communities participation in snack food drives and volunteers packaging the snack packs and delivering to the schools. A program that supports a hidden need in the community and insures that food insecure children have some food over the week end.
I am amazed by how caring and knowledgeable the staff and volunteers are at Tri-Lakes Cares. They do everything they can to help clients change their situation and get back on their feet. They care so deeply for our community and work hard to ensure clients receive the best services to meet their needs.
For several years, my employment has been seasonal. During periods of unemployment, Tri-Lakes Cares has aided me greatly with food and household essentials. Thanks much!
I have volunteered there for almost 8 years. I love the personal touch and genuine concern shown to each and every client. I liked TLC so much I took the next step and joined the Board of Directors so I could help ensure the atmosphere never changes! The staff is amazing, we couldn’t ask for a better group.
I have been volunteering for a number of years. The staff is wonderful ,caring and they always treat the clients with respect.
To begin the folks at TLC are unfailingly kind and helpful. I would not be surviving if not for their assistance. Short version, I put a 'friend' up in my house in a spare Master, I said get settled get a job, we will work it out. Once while I was away over the course of a few weeks she stole my Identification, drained 2 accounts, stole my new vehicle and lost my lease. She is in custody. Meanwhile I have nothing. I have a blood condition and very good insurance but nothing else. TLC feeds me. That is a big plus. Housing has been very difficult but in time I am sure that will work out and then its on to major lawsuits. Until then I love TLC for ALL they have done for me. If you need more I can give more.
TLC is very welcoming to volunteers and appreciative of the time we dedicate. They are not over-controlling. They fill a huge need in our community and do it in a very sensitive way. We have been associated with TLC for over nine years and they do not skip a beat when it comes to helping a community member/family in need. They are awesome and that what makes us volunteering at TLC a very purposeful way of giving of our time. Monument is blessed!
I've been a volunteer with TLC for over 10 years, and my husband has volunteered there for even longer. The organization has always aided those in need, helping them to face the challenges that poverty and unexpected challenges present. Over those years, TLC has grown from being primarily a food bank to being an organization that provides all sorts of services--food, financial aid, self-sufficiency education, connection with other sources of aid, and counseling/support to help clients most effectively use their limited resources and prepare themselves to take the steps necessary to improve their circumstances. I have been impressed over the years by TLC's ability to grow while still maintaining a "small town atmosphere," an atmosphere that emphasizes the word CARES, always treating clients, volunteers, and staff with dignity, respect, and compassion. I am proud to say that I am a TLC volunteer.
I was recently introduced to Tri-Lakes Cares. Over the holidays I had the pleasure of volunteering during the holiday drive. It really shows that what they are doing helps the community, when individuals were taking part and receiving their care packages for the holidays and were smiling so big. Even just putting a smile on one individual or family and being able to help them out, and help their kids out, that's what it's all about. I will continue to volunteer my time and donate to their great cause of helping the Tri-Lakes area!!
Keep doing what you do!!!
As a volunteer for over the past 5 years, I've seen many clients receive more assistance than they ever had hoped for. The volunteers and staff make it great place to work and seeing clients walk out the door with a big smiles on their faces and sometimes even in tears (of joy) makes it all worthwhile. Thanks TLC.!!!
Started years ago as volunteer. Loved what they did for the community. Never tire of the testimonials about the personalized, attentive care for clientele. Amazing dedication by employees and volunteers.
TLC is an absolute God-send. This organization has helped me get on my feet again after a sudden and unexpected divorce that flung me into situational poverty. TLC provides me with supplemental groceries, Christmas gifts for my children, emotional support, workshops/classes to improve my future, and the list goes on. I am so very thankful I live in this community that cares so much about "the least of these." They are family.
I've heard so many stories of people in the community being helped by Tri Lakes Cares. I'm so impressed with their compassion and ability to meet the client where they are and help meet their needs. Truly a great human service organization!
I have been volunteering at Tri-Lakes Cares for almost 11 years and my wife for 10 years. We have been involved in several of the programs there and have seen over the years just how each of these programs helped the clients. These programs include food assistance, doctor and nurse services, snackpaks for children in our area to have over a weekend, counseling, cooking classes, school supplies, Thanksgiving and Christmas food packages, angel trees at Christmas time, etc.
I have been volunteering at Tri-Lakes Cares for six years. I researched them after we retired and moved to Monument to see what they did. I liked what I saw. They are not only a food source for those in need, but do so many other wonderful things to help those in our community. New programs are being developed all the time and with the economic conditions that we are experiencing, we are able to reach out and help serve the needs of our clients.
I have been volunteering for Tri-Lakes Cares for a few years now. The staff and volunteers are very friendly! I enjoy meeting the clients and helping the people in my community.
I have volunteered here for the past year. I am proud to be a part of this team that cares for the needy in our community. They do a great job of managing their resources.
I have volunteered with TriLakes for several years and consider the staff, other volunteers, and clients a second family! There is such a spirit of sharing and caring and such warmth of feeling. I can’t imagine how the Monument area could go on without this wonderful place and its people.
As a volunteer, I can confirm that this is a great organization which treats their clients with respect and empathy. They are a wonderful, fundamental part of this community, assisting clients in their daily needs.
Tri Lakes Cares was there to help me when no one else would! They helped me to stay in my house and get us back on our feet so we could be self sufficient again. Without TLC my family and I would have been on the streets. I can't thank them enough for what they have done and continue to do!
The outreach and the caring is tremendous, as a volunteer i am never at a loss of positive things to say about this organization. I can honestly say that they do everything possible to help and assist the folks that need it the most. The one thing that I see that makes the difference is the Getting Ahead program that is offered. This innovative ideas teaches how to break the cycle of poverty and guides those who take the class on a successful road to self sufficiency. Not only does this organization give back to the community but they are committed to making it a better place for everyone. All I can really say in the end is Thank you!
I have been a volunteer at TLC for over three years and have seen first hand the impact this organization has on its clients. I have seen them implement a new program called Getting Ahead and have witnessed the impact this program has had on clients and heard their stories of this life changing program. Tri-Lakes Cares always puts the clients first and the amazing part is how many staff are local and are committed to their community. I appreciate how we as volunteers get to know the clients, hear their stories and see the impact this organization has!
My family was struggling with finances and on a whim, I stopped into Tri-Lakes Cares. They helped my family with supplemental groceries which allowed that money to go toward other necessities. Poverty can strike anyone at any time, and Tri-Lakes Cares is ready to meet their needs. No one should be stressed about finances, or wondering how to feed their kids. TLC is a wonderful blessing to Monument and the surrounding area.
My son and I joke this organization should be actually called, Tri Lakes Really, Really, Cares. No joke though. It's the truth! They really do care. Every staff member and volunteer has their clients best interests at heart. It shows in their interactions, creative problem solving and support. Much more than a food pantry. Tri Lakes Really, Really Cares has come alongside myself and my children during hard times. They have helped to teach us how to stand on our own feet. From medical care and health education to scholarships for continuing education to budget counseling to food and emergency assistance, this organization truly helps individuals and families work towards self-sufficiency. No one likes to admit they are struggling (at least I don't!) and everyone with this organization has contributed to giving me the confidence and possibility to succeed! Thank you Tri-Lakes Really, Really Cares!
I have been a volunteer at Tri Lakes Cares for about a year and a half. I have lived in Monument for 25 years and was aware of TLC (appropriately named!) but my eyes were really opened when I started volunteering. The first-class staff and the wide range of caring volunteers makes it a top-rated nonprofit. I am absolutely amazed at the wonderful services this organization makes available to the local residents. The amount of great assistance TLC provides to those truly in need is most heart-warming. The sincere appreciation shown by those partaking of the TLC services is so genuine and moving that it is a joy to behold!! I will continue to volunteer at this outstanding organization and have made it a regular recipient of our monetary charitable donations.
I don't have personal experiences to share about this organization but I have witnessed it's efforts in the community through my work. While interacting with clients of my own, they have shared with me the benefits they have received through Tri Lakes Cares. This organization really makes a difference for those in need long term and even for just a little while.
Tri-Lakes Cares is always there for people in need. They provide outstanding service to members of the community who have fallen on hard times by getting them food and many other resources. My wife and I will continue to support them and hope others do too.
I choose to leave my name anonymous just because I don't think it's important. I believe was important is the message it's self. I'm a client at tri-Lakes and have been for over a year and I just wanted to write a quick review about something I witnessed today and a few other days. I tend to visit the pantry on Thursday and I don't always see these two individuals who I believe are sisters but when I do see them I noticed that a few of the staff members tends to be very nasty to them and I feel it's because there are women of color no I typically wouldn't say something like that but I don't notice he thinks staff members talking to others people that way who happened to be Caucasian women like myself .and I think it's horrible how they're treated and that someone hasn't stepped in to stop the few staff members who tends to speak to these two individuals very nasty now I must say I've never noticed either one of them be rude to anyone however it seems like the staff is rude to them at least when I have been there. Again I typically wouldn't do this but I have noticed it multiple times and I just think the public needs to be aware of what I've seen and I believe many others have seen and afraid to speak up on because I've had this conversation with another client a few weeks ago about the issue now again I only say this because the clients are predominantly Caucasian actually I think I've only seen these two Women of color coming to the pantry. so I hope this review gets out and make people aware that this is not OK and we must treat everyone equal because were all the same. Please forgive me if I've missed spelled any words I'm not that creative spelling or writing things like this
Thank you for your comments and concern. We strive to be respectful of everyone who comes to Tri-Lakes Cares, treating them with the dignity they deserve. If you see behavior that concerns you – whether it is a client, a volunteer or a staff member – please do not hesitate to let Kim, our Operations Manager, know. Please rest assured that as a client, you will not be penalized and denied services. Comments by clients, volunteers or staff members will remain anonymous.
I volunteered for several years before joining the Board of Directors and I still volunteer. What impressed me most was the personalized service and the way TLC treats all the clients as family. All you have to do is watch a few testimonials on the TLC website and you'll know exactly what I am talking about.
Tri-Lakes Cares is such a critical resource to folks in the community that need help every once in a while. They have so many programs that people can utilize and are able to reach so many people. I will continue to support them as they help my community.
I have been a Tri-Lakes area resident for over 35 years and Tri-Lakes Cares has been a part of this community for just as long. I have friends that have found themselves in difficult situations at times and I have seen the support and relief Tri-Lakes Cares offered to them. I feel a sense of security knowing we have an agency such as this in my community in the event I find myself in a difficult situation. The company I work for has done many food drives for Tri-Lakes Cares and when we are doing the drive I hear how highly folks speak of this agency. Great job Tri-Lakes Cares!
Monument is a small town but it has a BIG HEART called Tri-Lakes Cares! I have volunteered here for 10 years and have been amazed how the services and scope have grown. I have always been impressed with the way each client is treated with care and dignity. I look forward to the days I spend with this great community asset.
I was a relocated retiree from NYC and I was usually a Volunteer to Social Agencies like this.
This group came to my rescue when I lost my only 2yr old daughter - Ruth Anne just before 9-11 tragedy.
Their building was originally to have been funded by my assets when my ex-wife took the $500,000 funds for the Future dedicated Senior Center and Child Day Care center...
Instead we need to thank all those individuals who Care for Others...
Despite my troubles this social organization came to my rescue.
It is a public and privately funded organization that reaches out to all who are troubled both financially, medically and distributes food to the Needy.
My church had originally made land available but they eventually built their organization into this current 2 story structure now on Jefferson St.
There is a Pikes Peak Workforce satellite office in this small structure, Tax Preparation office and Medical supply area.
Emergency FOOD is made available for those who Apply as well as delivery when needed
Without their outreach to the Needy, this retirement community would fade to obscurity..
I am a County Community volunteer and this organization helps me to exist and thrive.
People see me around the City, town, county, state and my missionary role...
also as a media reporter and singer.
I gladly return to others what help they give me and more...
