Trevor and his family have taken an experience that breaks many, and turned it into a way to help others with this fantastic non-profit. They have deep insight into the ways to positively affect the experience of children battling cancer, and are tireless in their efforts to recruit donations of both toys and time from community members!
I am a registered nurse at the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders of Northern Virginia. I previously worked at INOVA Fairfax Hospital when Trevor was first diagnosed and have been with them throughout his treatment. Trevor decided, on his own, that he wanted to have a way to give back to kids and provide them with toys, food, entertainment, etc. to help get through their difficult treatments. He has delivered toys and food to patients and families in the hospital and in the clinic. Trevor's treasures has also brought entertainment to the clinic in the form of puppet and magic shows. He is such a sweet and giving little boy and I definitely think that this organization deserves five stars. All of our families benefit from Trevor's Treasures and we can only hope that this organization stays around for a long time!
Trevor Blake is an amazing child who used this unfortunate event in his life to change the loves of children with Cancer for the better. Trevor was faced with the unthinkable and during a time where any one else would lay in bed, feeling bad for themselves, and waiting for the worst Trevor took matters into his own hands. He is a child who wants to see kids, moms, dads, brothers, sister, EVERYONE smile regardless of the treatments, the chemo, the loss of hair, and the loss of getting able to be a normal young child. When Trevor was diagnosed he was bombarded with gifts from everyone that came to visit. He would send gifts home with his young visitors out of the kindness of his heart. After spending a Christmas in isolation he realized what he needed to do to help this kids keep their spirits up. THat is where Trevor's Treasures came from. Trevor had the idea to raise money, host toy drives and do whatever he could to make sure the kids in the hospital were living "the good life". Trevor has been an inspiration to thousands of people. At 9 years old he is a superstar to many families. He is a superhero to those who know and love him. Trevor was sent here to do something great in the world and at only 9 years old his legacy is already something most people won't do in a life time.
Our son is a recipient of the goodness and generosity that is Trevor's Treasures. We have spent many hours at the clinic and hospital receiving treatment and Trevor's Treasures always shows up to brighten our day with toys, food....distraction!
We love Trevor's Treasures because they've made this difficult period in our lives more bearable!
Trevors Treasures is such a wonderful organization! It helps so many kids and families all year round. I watched Trevor hand out gifts one day he was visiting the onchology department at Fairfax Hospital and it was just amazing to see their little faces light up... a free present, it's not my birthday not Christmas, just because ... how great is that??? Trevor is just such an amazing kid with a heart the size of Texas and he loves to give joy to others. It's wonderful to watch and you feel so special being a part of that.
Trevor gives toys/games away to kids of all ages and sometimes it's to help a mother who has spent her entire month of December or more at the hospital with her child, help her with gifts for siblings etc.
Trevor's Treasures is such a worthwhile cause. The mission of the organization is one that deserves supporting as it helps bring happiness to so many children with cancer, by giving them toys while they are in the hospital. Trevor is a terrific kid, so smart, outgoing, kind and giving. You can't help by be happy when he is in the room, even despite the sadness you might feel that he is ill. This organization deserves supporting!
This is a great charity. This charity's mission is to help children enjoy their stay at the hospital as much as possible. I can only imagine how hard it is for each and every child to stay occupied each day. The best part is a then 6 year old boy noticed the need of other kids around him. Especially during a time when he was battling Neuroblastoma. The brief times I have had the pleasure to enjoy Trevor Blake's company. I have always noticed how his warm heart is always trying to make someone around him laugh. He has a great personality and wants to make a difference even while he is struggling everyday! This a charity I am honored to support and always will!
I teach at Trevor's school. At different times throughout the year, we donate toys to Trevor's Treasures. Trevor gets so excited and loves to tell his classmates about the organization. The other students get excited about donating toys for kids who are sick. It is such a great organization and I am so proud of Trevor's work to help others, especially when he is so sick himself.
As a participant in the fundraisers for this wonderful nonprofit, I am amazed. First, for such a young boy to be caring and self less in all his actions is unheard of. Trevor's heart is HUGE! Many adults could learn from his generosity and kindness. I truly believe he has changed many people's lives over the past few years. After some of the fundraising events, I viewed the pictures of Trevor taking the toys to the children in the hospital. From the looks of their faces he had made such an impact on their spirits. Just meeting him lifts your spirits. No matter what his current health status is, he always seems to put other's first. I just wish there were more people like this in the world, it would be a better place!
Trevor's Treasures is a fantastic organization that continues to help kids with cancer. They're mission is simple, put a smile on the face of every child that is sitting in a hospital battling cancer! They do this by bring presents at Christmas time, organizing gatherings throughout the year to do fun activities for the patients and bringing in local athletes and celebrities to meet the children.
I have supported this organization since it's inception and will continue to support it, I believe in what they do. I have seen first hand the work these people are doing!
Trevor is the toughest young man I've ever met. He is very sick himself, yet still makes time to help others in need. This organization brings joy to those who need it the most. Trevor's Treasures deserves the highest recommendation and possible.
Trevor's Treasures is the organization conceived by a little boy fighting the terrible childhood cancer of Neuroblastoma. Instead of concentrating on his own suffering, this amazing child wanted to help other children in hospitals and clinics by bringing a little joy into their ordeals.
The first actual incounter I had with Trevor's campaign was at a summer party for the customer's of his grandparents business. Trevor was going around talking to everyone about his mission while holding open his treasure chest. The outpouring of love and admiration for Trevor and his unselfish kindness towards other children was evident throughout the day. Instead of talking about how sad it was to know about Trevor's illness, everyone was enthused to help him reach his goal of bringing some happiness to other children, and we all were "pumped-up" to help in the fight against cancer in any way we could.
Trevor Blake is a truely inspirational person. I am proud to wear the blue and green (colors for neuroblastoma cause) Trevor's Treasures wrist band to bring attention to his wonderful works, and I have donated to many fundraisers organized on behalf of this worthy cause.
While I have not attended any of his joyful deliveries to other cancer victums, I have seen pictures of the celebrations and seen the unexpected happiness in the eyes of those children and their families.
I believe Trevor's Treasures is helping this little boy, Trevor Blake, fulfill his life's purpose here on earth---to bring love, kindness, and joy into the lives of so many while they are suffering the horrors of childhood cancer, and to bring awareness of the need for funds for research to cure neuroblastoma and other cancers.
I cannot say enough good things about the work that Trevor's Treasures does for kids battling cancer. Trevor Blake is an inspirational boy who is a hero to the kids at the hospitals he visits. He openly talks about the difficulties of cancer and how very matter of factly he and all kids will beat it. He is so mature and truly loves bringing hope and smiles to the other kids battling this horrible disease through the gifts and "treasure boxes" that are a staple to the organization. The treasure boxes that rest on the nurses stations on the oncology floor motivate the kids to get out of bed and do laps for prizes from the box. His visits always bring smiles to the children, staff and parents/families, and the charity often provides food over holidays such as Thanksgiving Dinners. Trevors Treasures is a wonderful charity and organization and is one that I will always support and will encourage others to do so as well. Thank you Trevor and the Blake Family!
Trevor's Treasures is a fantastic organization, created at the request of it's namesake - Trevor. Trevor is a 9 year old boy who has been fighting a rare pediatric cancer for 3 years. He fights hard everyday and is an inspiration to all who know him. What's more inspiring is his continued wish to see other kids going through similar situations have some joy in their lives. Through his organization he has delivered many, many toys, food, puppet shows & much more to pediatric cancer units in several hospitals. Trevor is still battling his cancer and yet he is still helping other kids.
I only know Trevor's Treasures through friends but have donated to them in the past, and from the stories I've heard, this charity makes so many kids very very happy. And I'm all for that.
Trevor's Treasures is an amazing organization that touches the lives of so many in need. Not only is Trevor a child in need fighting for his own life, but he's an example to us all of what hope and faith can truly accomplish if we only believe in something more than ourselves. What he has pulled together, in honor of all those fighting along side of him is quite a sight to see, a gift and his legacy that will hopefully live on for many years to come. If illness could be treated with love and kindness, Trevor would have saved the world by now.
I am Trevor's Step Father and have been dealing with his organization for over a year. Trevor has inspired so many people in his live ranging from children to adults. His willings to not only fight and beat cancer for himself but for all children around the world. No matter how sick or under the weather Trevor is he also makes time to make everyone smile and laugh. His caring of his follow cancer battling partners is overwhelming. Trevor loves to visit INOVA Fairfax every three to six month and deliver new toys, games, gift card and other thing to kids and their families to hopefully inspire them to fight harder every day with the doctors and beat cancer.
