Target demographics: Tree New Mexico is dedicated to helping communities plant and care for trees in urban areas — large and small — throughout The Land of Enchantment.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Tree New Mexico increased the tree canopy in NM last year by 2,009 trees. We planted 1,080 15-gallon trees in community plantings and gave away 929 5-gallon trees to residents to plant. Tree New Mexico increased our active Tree Steward from 41 to 66 trained volunteers supporting the tree canopy and expanded our program from Bernalillo County to across NM. We trained over 1,000 volunteers to plant and care for trees for maximum survivability in the NM urban environment.
Geographic areas served: Tree New Mexico works in urban areas across New Mexico.
Programs: ABQ NeighborWoods, NM NeighborWoods, and NM Partner Plantings which all include planting 40 to 100 15-gallons trees in community plantings with tree education and monitoring the trees. Tree Education including Tree Planting, Tree Awareness 4-session classes, and Tree Stewards 12-week classes which is all focused on increasing tree survivability and training volunteers.
