Programs: Transplants for Children was created in 1986 by Sharon and Eric Sutton in response to their own difficult personal experience in securing a liver transplant for their son. Although having endured the tragedy of losing their son, the Sutton’s were inspired to honor his memory by creating an organization dedicated to assisting families manage the daily challenges associated with the transplantation.
We have various volunteer based support programs and event throughout the year which enable us to create solidarity amongst our families.
My son and our became a part of Transplants for Children around this time six years ago. We do not always make it to the events but everytime we do we are met with warm smiles. I cannot thank everyone enough for all the help and love given to us. I am proud to say we are a part of the Transplants for Children family.
I love seeing the families lean on each other for support. They feel comfortable sharing stories knowing they understand the journey. We connect kids and caretakers in ways that they appreciate coming out of isolation when times seem rough. They offer hope and inspiring connections. I am glad to be a part of the TFC family.
We were able to connect with other families in similar situations. It was comforting to know that people right here in our community were searching for hope, answers, medical teams, funding, medications in the same battle Pre & post transplant!
