Volunteering as a case manager at Transition Professionals was an eye-opening experience. I had little experience working with the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated population, and I was amazed to see the many obstacles this population encounters every day. This population is invisible and voiceless, and very few people are willing to give them a second chance: that is what Transition Professionals mean for this population. When they walk into the office, they find a group of friendly professional people willing to help and support their journey without any judgment. A safe place where they can be seen and be heard. A place where a person can be seen not only as an ex-convict but also as a father, brother, daughter, friend, and a human being who is struggling to get their life back together. Bonnie O'Brien has created a safe place where this population can find help and support to reenter their community successfully.
Since day 1 where Ms. Dash was giving out the interviews about the program, she has always been straight down on trying to better your future and putting in the time for it...I've gotten so far with just knowing I have the help that I need as a useful resource to living. I thank Ms. Dash every conversation we have because she never denies you even if it's not in her field. Ms. Dash is greatly appreciated in my world, thank you!
Social worker, noun- a compassionate person who helps individuals, families, and communities develop skills to enhance their well-being one who sees the strength in others, a relentless advocate for peace and justice.
I am very grateful to have Ms. Dash support navigating through difficult times whether it's paperwork and needs to be faxed to health insurance to advocating on my behalf, with communication barriers. The skills she possesses are unmatched under rated, possibly underpaid, but the fact remains, she assisting people makes her an angel.
I would rate your organization at 100! You all take care of what I need like food, clothes, or bus passes. Everyone out there needs you all! I love you all, for everything you have done for me, thank you!
Transition professionals has been a guardian angel in my life. They have been of help with so many things from resources to jobs and all sorts of help. The staff really care and they go above and beyond. I've met some great staff, theu are truly great people ❤️
Super helpful, resourceful, polite, great listeners, very organized well put together type of team. Ever since I been coming here a lot has been accomplished and I honestly feel relief from where I once started out.
My name is Mike Campbell and I was first
introduced to Transitional Professionals @An info summit @Southwoods State Prison, May 2023., There were several reintegration service providers there with info brochures & business cards.. I gathered a copy and went back to my cell and began writing letters seeking assistance & professional guidance.. Out of "ALL" the letters I mailed out Ms.Berry from Transitional Professionals were one of the two responses I received back...
Ms.Berry unbeknownst to me at the time had got in touch with the prison social worker and arranged a prescheduled phone interview for an intake/assessment convo with me... The questions of Ms.Berry were very professionally formatted but didn't come off as automated., I sensed that she cared that I and others like myself reintegrate back into society with all the necessary tools and access to resources, that without, can most certainly deflate a newly released felons ego & confidence..
Luckily for me I wrote my letter to the right organization... Ms.Berry (Transitional Professionals) has been here for me / with me since my July 2024 prison release... Periodic phone calls from Ms.Berry's desk about my overall wellbeing... While I was in a shelter located in whole other county besides Bergen, Ms.Berry was making referral calls in head of me, so when I was arriving at these shelters, they knew who I was when I got there... Once I got placed here in a temporary transitional housing program in Hudson county, I called on Ms.Berry again to express my gratitude & Thank her, I again had another dilemma; I need some interview clothes and asked if she was familiar with any organizations in Hudson county that she can refer me to., Literary the very next day Ms.Berry called couldn't find anything for me within her resource rolladex in Hudson.. "But" informed me there is a
donation closet there @Transition Professionals.. She toke dwn my sizes and while I was still on the phone, picked out 2 pair of dress slacks & button shirts and drove them to me from Hackensack,NJ to Jersey City,NJ., well off her beated path, I'm sure...
I am a proud & honorable recipient of Transition Professionals services.. They care.. Their collaborative efforts with other organizations, in county / out county, WORKS.....
Saying Thank you to Ms.Berry is such an understatement... Saying Thank you just doesn't say enough for me..
I will show my appreciation & gratitude thru my continued Successful journey...
Sincerely Grateful,
Michael Campbell

As the former Director of a Halfway House, I became aware of Transition Professionals, as we served a very similar population. However, I was unaware of the wide range of services they offered and the excellent work they do to help others. It wasn't until I joined their operation, I realized that I was working with a team of highly motivated professionals, who were dedicated and willing to go to great lengths to accomplish the mission of helping those in need. Whether its job assistance and referrals, crisis intervention, assisting with securing benefits, mental health assistance, substance abuse counseling, housing, food, and or clothing, the team is diligent in their pursuit, to help. I am honored to work with this team of professionals who will exhaust all avenues and go to any length to help this much underserved population.
I started as an intern with Transition Professionals last year, working on a D.O.C.-funded program. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Transition Professionals has provided me with unique opportunities and invaluable experience, boosting my confidence and greatly enhancing my social work skills.
I also admire the work the executives are doing in the community. Working with justice-involved individuals is challenging due to the unforgiving nature of the system. It brings me great pleasure to be part of an organization like Transition Professionals, which makes a meaningful difference.
Having the opportunity to volunteer at Transition Professionals has been an incredible experience. I have learned so much from both the supervisors and the clients themselves. They do incredible work, and I am so honored to be a part of the organization.
Everything is getting done at record speeds! They helped me to get housing, food stamps and GA and anything else I needed to get back on my feet. They're always there for me when I need them. Highly recommend.
Being able to volunteer at Transition Professionals has been such an amazing experience. It is clear that Transition Professionals has an unwavering dedication to help individuals who were or are incarcerated reintegrate into the community. Not only is this shown through the team's persistent effort in helping clients obtain necessary resources, like housing or employment, but also through their strong compassion that empowers these individuals as they navigate their reentry. I wholeheartedly recommend Transition Professionals to anyone who may need assistance following their incarceration.
Having the opportunity to volunteer at Transition Professionals has been amazing. Being able to observe the passion and care of the team here is a formative experience that I have come to value greatly. Becoming involved in the community in such a valuable way is very fulfilling.
transition professionals is excellent source for the community, there helpful and caring i recommend them to all men and women who need help.
I have dedicated my time as a volunteer at TP for the past seven months, and I can confidently say that my experience here has been overwhelmingly positive. The team at TP consists of a diverse group of dedicated professionals who selflessly devote their time and energy to assisting the most vulnerable clients in Bergen County. Throughout my volunteer journey, I have gained invaluable knowledge and skills that will undoubtedly benefit me in the future.
I love this place. They have been very helpful with my process and navigating the system. I am happy to come into their office and appreciate that they laugh at my jokes.
I have been at Transition Professionals for about five months now and have had the ability to see the incredible work they do for their clients. It has given me a new perspective on reentry services and I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful team.
Hi, my name is Patricia Spencer. I really appreciate Transition Professionals. These young ladies have been a great help to me. I appreciate them taking the time to explain things to me. I definitely recommend anyone come here to seek help because they are very good at their jobs and very professional.
Transition Professionals is an excellent community resource making real change in the lives of clients and the Bergen County area. TP is comprised of a team of individuals who are supportive, compassionate, and knowledgeable about the reentry process and social services that clients may be eligible for. I have had the privilege of working with this organization for the past several months and it has been an amazing experience.
I am thrilled to share my experience with Transition Professionals, a remarkable and compassionate non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals reintegrate into society after being released from jail. Their commitment to supporting and empowering those in need is truly commendable.
From the moment I reached out to Transition Professsionals, I was met with warmth, understanding, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals seeking a fresh start. Their team of dedicated professionals, volunteers, and advocates work tirelessly to create a supportive environment that fosters growth, self-belief, and long-term success for the individuals they serve.
One aspect that impressed me was their comprehensive range of services. Transition Professionals offers a wide array of resources tailored to the unique needs of each individual. They provide assistance with housing, employment, education, healthcare, counseling, and more. By addressing these critical areas, they equip individuals with the necessary tools and support to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society.
What sets Transition Professionals apart is their commitment to treating every person with dignity, respect, and without judgment. They understand that everyone has a different story and a unique set of circumstances, and they approach each case with empathy and compassion. The staff and volunteers at Transition Professionals go above and beyond to ensure that individuals feel valued, understood, and encouraged throughout their journey.
I was particularly impressed by the organization's emphasis on education and skills development. They offer job development assistance, helping clients secure stable employment and financial independence. By empowering individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge, Transition Professionals plays a pivotal role in breaking the cycle of recidivism.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Transition Professionals to anyone seeking assistance after being released from jail. Their unwavering dedication, comprehensive support, and genuine compassion make them an invaluable resource for individuals looking to rebuild their lives. Transition Professionals is a beacon of hope, empowering countless lives and making a lasting positive impact on our community.
I came in when I needed clothes to wear for an interview and they were amazing! The workers there were super friendly and made me feel at home. I will definitely be coming back to them in the future when I need help applying for benefits.
Transitional Professionals has provided the clients with the utmost respect and assistance with truly anything and everything they need help with. Day in-and-out people come through asking for assistance with housing, food stamps, jobs, etc. and they try to provide as much help as possible. We try to keep up with all the clients weekly and call them throughout the week to check up with them, and if they need further assistance they enter the office. Overall, Transitional Professionals are constantly trying to better the Bergen County community by providing the people with as many resources and assistance as they can.
Transition Professionals is a high end non profit organization dedicated to helping the homeless, struggling individuals/families with income and addiction issues, and those formerly incarcerated get back into the workforce and finding housing. They are committed and hardworking to finding their clients housing assistance such as apartments, shelters, rentals. They have been great with providing basic services as well such as counseling/guidance, clothing, food, helping clients receive food stamps and other financial assistance. They have shown they are devote to improving the lives of those who are struggling with mental illnesses. One client who was a victim of Domestic Violence joined our organization and we helped her find a part time job yesterday 9/19. For those who need help finding housing, food and financial assistance, need counseling, and all our other services, please come to Transition Professionals.
This nonprofit continues to go above and beyond for its clients. The people that work here are so kind and willing to help the people of this community. As a volunteer, I have been welcomed with open arms and integrated seamlessly into the team. Their dedication to their work inspires me to do my part to ensure that this organization keeps running efficiently.
I had the honor of becoming a volunteer this past summer at Transition Professionals. You often read about many organizations doing amazing things in this world, but when you actually have the ability to spend time with an organization, you get to see first hand how amazing these individuals truly can be. The assistance they offer to their clients acclimating to society is truly one of a kind. The staff works tirelessly day and night to ensure that their clients are receiving the services they need. Often times continuing on well after hours of operation have ended to ensure the client's needs have been met. Taking paperwork in person to the different establishments that Transition Professionals deals with in order to ensure proper placement for their clients. I look forward to continuing to volunteer at Transition Professionals in the future, and may they always be around to help those in need.
Bonnie O’Brien and Transition Professionals helped me get my life back. One night of bad decisions cost me my job, my family, and my freedom. Bonnie & staff helped me get an apartment, build a stronger resume, and set a plan to get my life back. When I needed clothes for an interview.. Bonnie was there with slacks & shirt. When I needed work clothes for my new job. Bonnie helped me until I got my first paycheck.
Right now thanks to Transition Professionals , I will soon have my record expunged. Plus I will finish my college degree. I have my life back; , a great job, and can hold my head high as I walk down the street. All I can say is that I was never judged on my past indiscretion. She wants and will help you to get out of the pit as you get on the right track. Without Bonnie & Transition Professionals I don’t know where I’d be.
As an intern at this nonprofit organization, I was able to experience the hardships that individuals go through each and every day. This internship has been eye opening toward what this population is in need of and how this organization is the helping hand for this population. Transition professionals is one of the most active organiztions in assisting people get on track with the resources they need in order to get a new start in life. Personally, it is an honor to be able to intern at this location and be able to help others that are in need and are wanting to start a better life for themselves.
Transition professionals which was created by Bonnie O. I have seen so many lives changed by Bonnie and her team! they are awesome! They work really hard with each individual, family, other agencies to help and micromanage and what ever it takes basically, when it comes to helping her clients, glad (and not surprised) to see they are, and keep plugging away at helping anyone who really needs to get where they need to be, weather it be housing, mental health, addiction, or just basic guidance. they are always there to help and wonderful people-Paul Nickels Homeless Advocate

An amazing non profit, award winning Family oriented Organization! In Bergen County. They do amazing work. I have referred so many homeless and thoughts with Mental Health conditions. Some received one of the best, the best things a homeless needs, that is housing. When i see them take a homeless person and then get them a housing voucher, a housing voucher with case management, The person changes, working on little to know money they have helped so many. It's amazing work they do. They have built a huge network of resources that can help individuals from all walks of life. Just simply great!
As an attorney who works with inmates, ex-convicts, homeless, vets, and the disabled who are having problems with the legal system, including child support and restraining order violations, I have found Transitional Professionals (TP) and Bonnie O'Brien to be the most compassionate and accessible, full-service re-entry program in this region. In all my years, they have never turned away a person in need, whether it is for shelter, food, obtaining ID, referral for healthcare and counseling, employment, and other life issues. Transitional Professionals gives these people hope and care when they are in most need. Any funding and exposure that TP can receive will help them save and improve lives. Thank you, Carl Losito, Esq.
It has been my pleasure to be associated with Transition Professionals practically from its inception. As a 40+ year not for profit professional, I am well acquainted with what a truly dedicated, passionate group can accomplish in their community. Transition Professionals, is the quintessential grassroots, community/client driven organization. The focus at T.P. is always on finding solutions for our clients’ barriers and assisting them in their path to a fruitful life. This is what great not for profits do!

I have been associated with Transition Professionals for 3+ years as a volunteer. As a career not for profit professional, I am quite aware of the elements required to be a world class organization. Transition Professionals is in this category. Bonnie OBrien, the Executive Director and founder, is a dedicated leader who has created a not for profit that focuses on successful solutions for people who are or have been incarcerated so they do not reoffend and are reincarcerated. In my entire career, I have never experienced this level of passion and dedication as exists at Transition Professionals. This is a remarkable organization!

When I needed help they were there for me. No matter what I needed they listened and made suggestions about options I had. When I messed up they took me back and started all over again. They guided me in the right direction and have stayed around to provide support and assistance in order for me to get back on my feet, get my ID, stay clean and most of all get a well paying job. I can’t say enough about Transition Professionals and the services they provide.
Transition Professionals is such a wonderful organization and I have had an amazing time working with them. The staff treat all of their clients as equals and without judgement, and I have seen firsthand some of the ways that their services have helped former inmates redirect their lives onto a path to success. Transition Professionals is an invaluable resource for former inmates in need!
This charity gives a great experience to interns. I feel extremely welcomed and the having the opportunity to help those in need is a great feeling. They welcome new clients with open arms and try to assist them in many ways, from giving clothing and toiletries to finding possible housing. Overall, this is a wonderful experience.
Transition Professionals has an unbelievable mission to work wholeheartedly for an overlooked population within their community. Transition Professionals not only works to reduce recidivism from this specific population, but also works towards reducing the stigma one might experience when coming out of jail/prison. In addition, this organization partners with multiple organizations to ensure that their clients also have access to services that can meet their diverse needs.
Transition Professionals has been an amazing learning experience for an intern like myself. This is a great nonprofit organization helping many people find their way.
From the very beginning our focus was on care and services to the client. We found people were very marginalized if they were homeless, had been incarcerated or suffered mental health conditions or addiction. We took a holistic approach and concentrated on the basics and then moved up to the ancillary needs in order to create a program where clients trusted us and felt we were truly there to help them. We have clients who are true success stories just as we have those who have been lost to this world. No matter if they relapse or fall backwards, we are always there to help and guide them forward to find their true self and raise their spirits as they rejoin their families and community.
Well they help me get my section 8 do the lottery which I had no idea about doing or pursuing and which I needed clothing they provided me clothing and when I was doing my online college course at Ashford University I was allowed to use their computers
This organization works with and gives hope for the future back to those who have been incarcerated. I haven never before met such a dedicated group of people!
My experience at Transition Professionals was fantastic. I was able to meet wonderful people who are willing to help others, no matter what. I learned so much fro everyone while my time over there, and I am more than sure that the experience gathered at Transition Professionals will be more than useful for my career.
Transition Professionals is an amazing organization with incredibly passionate staff and volunteers. As a board member of NJ Recovery Advocates and the Executive Director of Meals on Wheels North Jersey I have witnessed the impact of the work they do. When others turn their backs on you, Transition Professionals welcomes and supports you.
For several months, NJ Recovery Advocates held our monthly educational forums at their location in Hackensack. Working in collaboration with them to fight for the people we serve is a privilege!
I would define my experience as not other than fantastic. I am so grateful to Transition Professionals for opening their doors to me as a volunteer in such a difficult time. I am thankful to all the staff members at Transition Professionals because of all their support and amiability. I must say that volunteer at Transition Professionals was incredible, just the fact that knowing we are helping individuals, providing them all the services they need was so gratifying. I really think that if anyone is looking to volunteer something either because of school or just for helping Transition Professionals will have the door open to anyone, and definitely the best place to learn and to get experience regardless of what you study.
These guys are absolutely amazing! Bonnie is a gem and each and every worker there will go to bat for you. Would 100% refer anyone looking for assistance transitioning!
This organization is absolutely amazing! Everyday they strive to help anyone who has been incarcerated. I find that even being associated and working with this organization, Bonnie and Karen even make interns as well as staff strive to be better people. The organization as a whole allows for growth and achievement and they will continue helping others everyday!
I have had the pleasure of knowing Bonnie and watching this organization grow since before they became a 501(c)3. I volunteer at Bergen County Jail and all the "residents" knew Bonnie, Transition Professionals, the staff and interns. In fact, the residents were transformed from fear to empowerment. Transition Professionals provided them with skills, support and a road map to self-sufficiency.
I also have referred vulnerable individuals from the community, whether it be clothing, housing, career coaching or whatever the need. Transition Professionals has always responded swiftly and appropriately, providing wise counsel, support and resources.
And, Transition Professionals treats everyone who walks through their doors with dignity and respect. Each individual is treated with compassion and listened to without judgment: so fundamental, yet rare in reentry services.
Yes, Transition Professionals is rare indeed. And many of us are very grateful that we have them in our community.
Volunteering with Transition Professionals has been an amazing experience. I learned so much during the few months I was there. From working inside Bergan County Jail and also within the office I can say the everyone is truly amazing, selfless, and dedicated. They all work so hard to make sure those who need help receive the best help they possibly can. They welcome anyone with open arms without judgement or opinions. I have seen the men and women they have helped and continue to help praise them beyond words. This is experience is something that I’ll take with me in any career I decide to transition too. I want to show as much dedication and passion in all that I do just like this team. Anyone who is looking to volunteer, especially college students, I recommend this nonprofit 100% you will not regret it.
Bonnie—You’re inspiring
Michelle—You’re awesome
John—Thank you so much for everything you told me
Jenny & Kiesha—You ladies are the best
I have been working with this group for the past several years. They have helped me with my housing issues, finding a job, dealing with other agencies and overall support and guidance when I need it. I am forever grateful for all the help and assistance I have received and continue to receive.
Transition Professionals is a great grassroots organization that aims to create a better society with upstanding citizens willing to turn their life around. Bonnie and her team are amazing in that they are only invested in results than any other things. Organizations like Transition Professionals is what helps our community stronger, be more diverse and better. The reality is that people who make mistakes go to jail or prison, but what we do with them when they come out, is the bigger issue we need to tackle. If we want a better society with less crime and more upstanding community members, we need to help those people who made an error in judgement. And that is exactly what Transition Professionals is doing. I am in awe of what they do and I look forward to more things they can offer.
During 2018-19 I had the opportunity and privilege of interning at Transition Professionals, a nonprofit agency committed to improving the lives of individuals, families and communities. Bonnie and her staff are professional, compassionate, empathic, and they understand what their clients need in order to live healthy and fulfilling lives. TP is one of the most caring and committed agencies I have had a chance to be a part of, and I hope to work with them again in the future as they continue to better the lives of those impacted by mental health, addiction, unemployment, homelessness, legal involvement and incarceration.
My name is Peter. In April 2019 I found myself with no job and no place to live. I was not thinking straight and depressed. I went to the shelter who told me to go to see Transition Professionals. Bonnie O'Brien fought for me and helped me during a time I was being attacked from different directions. I felt shunned and disrespected by others but she championed for me and inspired me to do the best I can. Through it all, she got me temporary shelter, and whenever I needed help, I was able to touch base with her who provided me with incentive to focus and do the best I can. She is always there to back me up. When you can't do it alone, and you can't do it for yourself, it feels really good to know that someone is working in your best interests!!!
This is a great organization that strives to get results for the individuals they serve. I have seen first hand over and over again the endless dedication to serving the community.
My name is Ben Kimmel. I am a wellness advocate as well as an active member of the recovery world. I have been sober for more than 28 years and in all my time of sobriety as well as with all my efforts as an advocate and specialist to help those who struggle with mental illness, dependency and alcohol abuse disorders, I have never seen a program like Transition professionals.
I have seen great victories here. I have watched people find an end to their recidivism, stay clean, become educated, get jobs, find housing, become well, or better yet, become whole again and and become productive and active members of their community.
Recovery and wellness is possible; however, recovery is nearly impossible without programs like Transition professionals,
This is why I make my efforts to support them in any way that I can.
May God Bless
Excellent organization! Team full of people with great hearts who are all about helping those in need. Transitions has helped me out in so many positive ways. The director Mrs Bonnie O'Brien is the greatest woman on this planet nd doesn't get enough credit for all that she does!
After many years of alcoholism and finding myself homeless I surrendered to being helped and found Transition Professionals. They have guided me for the past several years, helping me obtain housing, benefits and keeping me busy when I could have fallen off the wagon. They have come to Court with my and to my doctor's appointments. They help me with food, clothing and anything I need in order to survive. I am thankful that they care about me and support me when I am down because I don't have anyone else.
I absolutely support the mission of this agency. The success stories of each client served is remarkable.
back about 6 years ago, I had yet to see any area non profits help as many people with resources. Now in the present Transition Professionals is that Organization that stands out form the rest. Helping former inmates; from getting them jobs, connecting them with vital resources like Mental health agencies, Job training, housing, so many other tangible resources, transforming lives. watching their clients go from inmates to housed, productive members of society. They work with a network of other agencies getting the clients what they need. Amazing what they are doing at Transition professionals! Each case is different and the challenges of each one are unique but they take each one head on, finding the solution to each one's problems efficiently, personally! they are one of a kind!
I have known of this organization since 2013 and the work they do it is absolutely amazing and done with such passion and devotion. It is a very needed in our county and the population benefiting from the services has barely no other options in regards to help. Bonnie is an absolute saint for starting this and for continuing it and running with such great values behind it. I am proud to know them all and to be involved whenever needed.
When I came home to Bergen County after having served over twenty years in prison I was very scared and unfortunately the New Jersey Department of Corrections hadn't helped me with a solid after prison plan. I got in touch with Transition Professionals and they helped me with not only referrals for the assistance I needed but helped me feel human and cared about, and that gave me the confidence to keep striving. I have been home now for 2 1/2 years and have a full time salaried position in the field of Recovery Support Services helping others that are struggling with addictions. Today I have a nice little apartment and a car. I am being a benefit to society. I am so very grateful for Bonnie and her staff and hope that my continued progress will always be able to reflect on the blessed work they are doing. John J.
Bonnie played a huge role in helping me find direction in my life. Everyone on staff at transition professionals really care about what they do and all the people they help everyday and it shows! Thank God that places like this exist and that I was fortunate enough to have found these amazing people!! In a world full of problems, Transition Professionals are part of a refreshing solution!
Transition Professionals does a great job helping those of us who have been incarcerated find community resources. With the help of Bonnie and her team, I have applied for social services assistance, gained meaningful employment, and straightened out my healthcare situation. They are very friendly, unpretentious, and most of all are compassionate and caring people.
Transition Professionals is an amazing group of people who go above and beyond for everyone who walks through their doors. As a volunteer I felt welcomed as soon as I met Bonnie. The experience was eye opening to a huge issue in Bergen County. The population they work with are extremely thankful of the time and effort dedicated to each individual by Bonnie as well as her supportive group of volunteers. During my time with the agency I learned so much. I was exposed to how much help the population needed and how to provide them with services to lessen recidivism. All of the clients were so greatful they had a place to come when they didn't know where to turn. On countless occasions I watched the agency go through great lengths to help individuals get back on their feet. The passion from everyone in transition professionals is incredible and has inspired me.
Transition Professionals was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It helped me open my eyes to the reality of our society and the way we treat people depending on their actions. Everyone involved with this nonprofit organizations puts all their effort to make a difference with people that need it desperately asking for nothing in return. As a volunteer in Transition Professionals I can honestly say everyone that comes in is welcomed with open arms. The goal of this organization is reducing recidivism in Bergen County, NJ and even though it takes a lot of effort everyone in this organization works their hardest to help.
Bonnie and everyone else spend so much time and hard work in really trying to help everyone that comes through the doors and everyone in the jail. They all have a passion for this work and that is amazing to see as Bergen County does not fully recognize the problems that it has. It has been a pleasure helping out this organization and getting to see what occurs. Everyone who helps out there do it because they want to and it is wonderful to see the familial culture that they have formed with each other.
Everyone at Transition Professionals volunteer their time to genuinely help out individuals who have just been released from jail. There is a great sense of community, compassion, and dedication from every member of the organization. You can really tell that Bonnie and everyone else do this because they really care. From providing referrals for services to helping individuals create a resume and apply for jobs, Transition Professionals is a great place to go for individuals looking to get a start at a new life! The organization's main goal is to reduce recidivism, which is a topic that is not really dealt with in Bergen County, NJ. Way to stand up!!!
I was in the Bergen county jail, and Bonnie o'brian came to visit people that was veterans and others that would possibly getting out soon. At that time I thought I had a possibility of leaving. Her organization went to bat for me at all ends, how every I was sentenced to a 3yr term in state prison. Her organization kept in contact with me and the veterans. When I was released Bonnie helped me house hold items and a list of apartments. As of today I have my own studio apt I'm in touch with Bonnie thru Email and have taken my place back in society. Transition professionals is a reliable source for people getting out of the prison system and is valuable, my hat off to this organization.
When I ended up getting into trouble and went to jail I got into the Drug rehabilitation center in Bergen County Jail. When I was getting ready to finish my sentence in jail I really was lost on what and where I was going when I got out. Then one of the best things happened and I found out I was chosen to be a part of a program that helps you get back into society. They found me a place to live and even got me furniture. I found a good job as a technition and kept that job for 2 years. Then my father's trust came back and he hired me back into the family company. I had finished the program that helped me get back into society. In December of 2016 my father and I had our disagreements with work and so we parted ways. It's now April of 2017 and this week I landed one of the best jobs anyone would love to have. The pay lands between 80 and 90 thousand a year. I owe some of this success to the program that got me back on my feet and allowed me to walk with my head held high. If I didn't get that help when I got out of jail I don't think I would be in the position I am in today. Thank God for the people that came up with this program of action. It really does work for someone that fell down and needed that extra push to get back up.
With the help and support of Mrs O'Brien and her team at transitionprofessionals I could never
have become a productive member
of the community. They carried me
back to a world to which I now feel
I never left. They made me believe
in my self again and to respected
others. Many job now open to me
all due to you and your team. Thank
You Mrs O'Brien. You could not invest
in a better future for the safety of
All.
