Rev. Dr. Barbara Jim-George is President and CEO of Transforming Ministries Group, Inc. She is a licensed and ordained minister who completed doctoral research to examine the efficacy of faith based primary prevention education to mitigate the risks for teen girls becoming victims of human trafficking. She currently consults with congregations to assist them in establishing primary prevention education programs for teens in their churches and communities.
Dr. Jim-George earned a Doctor of Ministry degree with honors in Transformational Church Leadership, and a Master of Divinity degree with honors in Theology and Religion from the American Baptist Seminary of the West, one of 9 consortia seminaries of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. She has earned over 15 prestigious awards and honors for her scholarly insights into modern faith, the development of Christian education curricula, and the role of spirituality in everyday life for women, children, and youth.
Her ministry is designed to empower individuals to have an intimate and experiential relationship with God, and to assist in healing the community of injustices that enslave, marginalize, and decimate the personhood of individuals who need to see the manifestation of God's love in their lives. Her desire is to be a change agent for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, willing to "think outside the box" using contemporary thought, culture, and information in ministry to reach into the community and help bring individuals into a meaningful relationship with God and others.
Dr. Jim-George is President of the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) Minister’s Council of the Greater Bay Area, and is a member of the ABCUSA National Ministries Team. She is also secretary for the Association of Northern California American Baptist Churches of the Central Pacific Coast (ABCCPC), and also serves as a panelist on the organization’s Ordination Committee.

A published author, Dr. Jim-George’s first book “Beyond Passing out Tracts: Forming a Faith Response to the Human Trafficking of Children” (Wipf & Stock Publishers) is anticipated to be released in early 2019.
