Mission: Engaging those in jail with a servant heart and a hopeful message
Programs: The adult jail chaplaincy program provided a chaplaincy presence within the hamilton county jail facilities throughout 2011. It is estimated that this involved 1500 hours of volunteered time consisting of a mix of crisis intervention and regular one to one visitation with prisoner and corrections staff. In addition, chaplains were available to corrections staff during a very difficult year when many officers lost their jobs. We also conducted a 13-week training program for 8 potential new chaplains.
the clergy contact visiting program provided orientation for 115 clergy in 2011 as part of assisting them to have better access in visiting their parishioners who were incarcerated. This was in addition to administering the program and facilitating the background process.
the worship team ministry had direct contact with roughly 38% of the estimated admissions in 2011 as they regularly worshipped with the prisoners.
