Tracy Interfaith Ministries is a nonprofit partner of NeighborShare, Inc. We partner with effective, trustworthy organizations on the ground working with families and individuals, like Tracy Interfaith Ministries. They identify one-time urgent needs that would otherwise go unmet and our donors meet those needs. Efficiency and trustworthiness are as essential to us and our donors as it is to you, so each nonprofit partner has to pass our initial vetting process as well as ongoing integrity checks. We are not only proud that Tracy Interfaith Ministries meets those high standards, but we are even prouder of the incredible work they do every day to support our neighbors.
I have been volunteering at Tracy Interfaith Ministries for about 4 1/2 years. I truly enjoy volunteering there and working side by side with some outstanding volunteers. It is run entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to Tracy Interfaith Ministries and it's purpose. The people we serve are very grateful for what we can provide.
I really enjoy volunteering here and am happy to donate here. They are such an asset to our community. Everybody seems to have the community as their first and most important interest. I enjoy that I can go here and give back.
Tracy Interfaith is the best! My children and I began volunteering here about 3 months ago and it is such a treat to interact with the kind and efficient volunteers training us to pack food boxes or unload donations, as well as the members of the community utilizing this resource. It’s opened my eyes to the many good works happening within our community.
Tracy Interfaith is run by all volunteers who are all so caring. Everyone there works very hard to accomplish the mission of serving the hungry in Tracy. If you want to come and feel like you are making an important difference in our town this is a great place to do it.
Tracy Interfaith Ministries is a great place to serve and volunteer. The organization has served the community with food and clothing for over 32 years and is volunteer run (no salaries are paid). During this covid-19 pandemic they found a way to keep giving out food and helping people in need even with a reduced number of volunteers. Food donations and community support allows the ministry to continue. The organization also purchases food and distributes to low income families and individuals who sign up as clients. New clients come to sign up by completing a short application and can receive food the same day if they qualify.
Over the life-time of this agency, I have consistently heard comments that positioned Tracy Interfaith Ministries as among the most highly regarded charities in the community. More to the point: Tracy Interfaith consistently attracted good will and volunteers to an amazing degree. In the last few years, I have had the opportunity to get to know a few of the people in leadership. Their commitment and dedication to their volunteer work with Tracy Interfaith ranks very high among their everyday priorities.
When I retired earlier this year, my acquaintances at Tracy Interfaith 'drafted' me as a volunteer. Now, first hand, I am observing some remarkable and consistent characteristics of the volunteers and the service provided to our clients:
1) Incredible and consistent respect and compassion for the clients no matter what their circumstances;
2) A passion to meet the needs of the clients and a high work-ethic to take care of the need even if out of the ordinary;
3) Extraordinary commitment by volunteers to weekly, semi-weekly and even daily service;
4) Willingness of the volunteer-workforce to undertake menial tasks as well as professional leadership -- whatever is needed to keep the organization viable and meeting the needs of the hungry, the homeless and families striving to make ends meet.
There is an environment of respect and reverence that influences a sense of community among the clients themselves as well as the volunteer-workers and those who come for assistance. I have worked with a number of nonprofit agencies for over 40 years in various communities, and Tracy Interfaith Ministries certainly ranks among the top two in my long experience. Barbara P.
I have volunteered at the Tracy Interfaith for 6 years. Here we serve many that are having hard times, and are in need of help. We're able to help them by giving them food, providing them with clothing and other necessary items. We also help the children that are less fortunate by providing them with school suppplies and other items. As many of you see at this time we have so many homeless that are just need some extra help.
As a volunteer at Tracy Interfaith Ministries, I can definitely tell you what we are, what we do, and why it's an excellent.
Tracy Interfaith Ministries (T.I.M. for short) is a church-affiliated food bank located on 311 W. Grant Line Road in Tracy, California. We're open to the clients Monday-Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM. We give out food, clothes, and backpacks in the summer time.
T.I.M. has an excellent group of volunteers that are dedicated to helping the clients, but also to helping each other. They're some of the best people that I have met in my life, and I don't just say that because of the way they help the clients, no; I also say it because of how they treat me and each other.
T.I.M. is an amazing charity that, as the rating says, far exceeded my expectations. See, when I began volunteering there in early 2013, I didn't know what to expect. What ended up happening was me meeting a group of people that are dedicated to making an impact, and I can safely say that we make that impact each and every month.
I came to Tracy Interfaith about a month ago and had never had any previous interactions with them before. My daughters girl scouting troop was doing volunteer hours for our Troops National Day of Service. Wow was I surprised when I walked in! What an amazing place this is! The other volunteers who had obviously volunteered here before were very friendly, kind and patient. The building was so organized inside and offered some great services. We really enjoyed our time volunteering here and plan on coming back with our troop and on our own time to help out such an amazing organization!
Tracy Interfaith is a non denominational organization that is sponsored by 29 churches in Tracy. There is NOT one paid position from the Director to every volunteer that helps out. This organization is a blessing to so many in this community who need a little extra help with food and/or clothing. To God be the glory through this organization to those in need of help.
As a social worker, I have both worked with volunteers & referred clients. TIM has an exceptional group of volunteers that is dedicated to our community & helping those that suffer. many services are offered including free clothing, free food, emergency services, etc. as a community, Tracy interfaith ministries has been a staple non-profit that has been an honest and giving organization. I'm not sure what our community would do for its citizens that are in need without Tracy Interfaith Ministries.
I have volunteered at Interfaith Ministries for approximately 8 years. My job is working with the clients, signing up new people, then interviewing both new and older people figuring out their needs etc. It is heartwarming to be able to help these hurting people by providing food and clothing, a smile and encouragement. I find myself sometimes exiting to the break room to hide the tears when I consider how much God has blessed me with and just how little, yet so appreciative describes some of these people. While it is against the rules, I have found myself wanting to get into my purse and help the hurting mother with a little cash. Tracy people have been very generous providing us with money, food and clothing. While we cannot provide all the food needed, we provide 10 to 12 days total food for meals each month as well as diapers for the babies, baby food and supplies and hygiene items for the family. I am so proud to say that I was a volunteer of Tracy Interfaith Ministries for many years, and I know that this organization is focus on providing help to the community in different ways, food, referrals, volunteer hours, bag packs, school supplies, clothing and so many other things.
I continue to be close to this organization whenever my job permits, because I know it is needed in Tracy and they make a big difference in the life of many residents in our city.
Tracy Interfaith Ministries has been providing food, clothing and other essentials to low-income families, seniors and the homeless for twenty-seven years. I have had the privilege of serving as the volunteer director for the last fifteen years. I have watched in amazement as this all volunteer organization has continued to find the resources (people, food, cash) to meet the needs of first our fast growing community and then the tragic economic downturn that hurt so many people financially. We managed to provide 979 school aged children with backpacks and school supplies this past July and we expect to provide all of our clients with Holiday food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas along with gifts for children. We are thankful for all of our volunteers (mostly senior citizens) and the many children and adults who choose to do community service hours with us. We also enjoy incredible support from our community. I, personally, feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to work with all these fine people to make our community a better place for all who live here.
