Touching Souls International has greatly impressed me by it's great work. I am a Brown University student, and I have worked in several community service projects, most of which includes educational opportunities for the people in need. Their work in other fields has inspired me to carry on helping the society and pursue a career as a social worker.
Touching Souls International is a very powerful movement towards helping the disabled. It provides cataract surgery with lens implant to hundreds of people every year with no cost at all, restoring sight to all those who need it. Their cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries bring smiles to millions of children.
I am Dr. Md. Monsur Ali. I worked with Bangladesh Association for the Aged, which works fro the rights and well-being of the elderly. As a social worker myself I could see how Touching Souls International is doing a commendable work in helping the different people in need and making services accessible to them. They're helping the disabled in a strongly significant way, providing cataract and cleft-lip surgery for free as well as articifial limbs with no cost. It is wonderful how an organisation like this helps change so many lives and I would appreciate them being able to cover greater horizons. I wish more donors supported organisations like Touching Souls International so that they could extend their help to more and more people, and also more volunteers lent their hand in this incredible movement to help the society.
This is Dr. Nezamuddin Ahmad from Bangladesh. Working as Professor & Project Coordinator of 'Palliative Care Service' at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, the only medical university in Bangladesh, I believe that we need many more organizations like 'Touching Souls International'. Actually they are a real friend in need. Having a diverse activity schedule they have literally touched many persons souls. It would be better to call them "soul mates".
Touching Souls International is a great organization that has done a lot to help disadvantaged individuals in Bangladesh. Their eye camps offer cataract surgeries with lens implant free of charge for those who would be blind without these services. They also provide surgery for people with cleft -lip and cleft -palletare. These are just two examples of the wonderful services that Touching Souls provides.
Touching Soul Organization is excellent method of helping poor people; providing free treatment ,surgery, education , etc.
Touching souls international is an amazing non profit organization, which provides medical surgeries for needy individuals who are cataract blind. Since 2005, this organization gave the gift of sight to more then 591 poor people of Bangladesh. This non-profit organization is an inspiration to me and many others. Many people are blessed by God with sight, where as many are not. For the ones that are not blessed with sight , touching souls is there to save there lives.
TOUCHING SOULS IS TRULY A BLESSED NON-PROFITABLE ORGANIZATION THAT REACHES OUT TO PEOPLE UNABLE TO AFFORD SURGERIES IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES.NOT FORGETTING THAT FREE MEALS ARE ALSO GIVEN WEEKLY TO THE COMMUNITY.
Touching Souls International is an excellent organization .Bringing dream out of one who needed help...Thank to this organization cause its many life a brighter one... It was very peaceful to hear bout the great things this organization is doing..
This organization does good work by helping the poor and needy in Bangladesh. The people that belong to the organization are very dedicated to this work
I am Engineer Enamul Baqui involved with the voluntary and social works of Nurture's Center for the Disabled and Paralysed as its adviser. I know about the joint program of Nurture and Touching Souls International. This unique program have benefited some poor patients to get relief from the curse of disability and paralysis.
I am Nasreen Baqui, a social worker from Chittagong Bangladesh. I work with a voluntary, non-profit and charitable organization named Nurture, which runs a General Hospital, a Center for the treatment and rehabilitation of disabled underprivileged patients who are inflicted with disability and paralysis due to spinal injury from accidents. This organization also runs a free primary school for the poor children. Touching Souls International has extended their financial support in all these activities of Nurture. Assistance / help of Touching Souls International enabled to carry out many free operations and treatment of poor patients and brought smiles in their families.
This organization is doing great things - if only more people of the fortunate people could work together to those who need really need it.
I am Dr. S.N.KIbria. Now working as Medical Superintendent in Chittagong Port Hospital, at 200 bedded Govt. Hospital. My specialty is in Anesthesiology. Involved as volunteer anesthesiologist in different humanitarian projects one of which is Touching Souls International.
No one is a stranger to this common condition. Cataracts are the number one cause of blindness in the world, ahead of all other eye diseases. Bangladesh has one of the highest prevalence of blindness in the world, approximately half are blind because of cataracts. These people could have their sight restored by means of a relatively simple intervention and costing just $35. In the absence of appropriate intervention (whether spectacles, surgery, low vision care, or rehabilitation), visual impairment has a substantial negative impact on many factors that contribute to the quality of life of older adults. These range from perhaps the more obvious effects of a reduced capacity to undertake day-to-day activities, through to a more subtle influence over psychological wellbeing. Each time a blind person regains eyesight it is not only his or her life that is restored but a family, a village, a community, a local economy. The positive ripple effects are enormous. Eye camp organized by Touching souls International delivers life-changing eye care to the poor and underserved populations that would otherwise go without this care. I wish touching souls international all the best in all their future work.
. Touching Souls International is a great nonprofit organization. By giving their free cataract surgeries they are saving the cataract blind people. Giving free cleft lip surgeries so many disadvantaged are saved from their facial birthdefects. Artificial limbs are helping people who has lost the limb. Most of its projects are saving disadvantaged people in many ways.
An organization with a hands-on, on the ground approach that assists and follows through with assistance towards children, the elderly and those in need of valuable health related services in Bangladesh which are difficult to come by. This organization is reaching parts of the country which otherwise would be left hopeless and has provided people with the knowledge necessary to understand there are opportunities and ways to have a better life and better health. I look forward to its growth b/c thus far, it has done WONDERS to improve underserved communities.
Touching Soul's International is a great organization and doing very important work, one person at atime, one face at a time.
I have worked directly with the leaders of the organization and believe they have an incredible heart to spend so much energy in helping others that are less fortunate!
Really great work and it felt good to see that there are warm people in the world willing to help others in need.
I help Touching Souls International in organizing Eye Camps with main intention to find out elderly people who are visually disabled for cataract. Touching Souls International sponsors the expenses required for cataract surgery. The very poor segment of the society in a least developed country like Bangladesh (where there is no Social Security safety net) benefits a lot from the service sponsored by Touching Souls International. Every month a Eye camp is sponsored by TSI at different parts of the country, preferably a bit remote places are choosen as service providing sites. From 800 to 1200 people visit these Eye camps. Almost 300 eye patients receive prescription and almost 85% of the prescribed eye medicines. Near about 100 visually impaired people receive eye-glasses totally free. In a camp usually 40 to 60 patients are selected for cataract surgery. The unique arrangement by TSI is that besided free surgery these poor patients receive free transportation to and fro, and also their food expenses from the next 2 days at the hospital are beared by TSI. 3 weeks after the surgery the patients also receive a free follow-up by the same doctors, in their own household vicinity. What more someone can ask from a philanthropic organization.
I live in New York,USA for last 34 years,my heart is with me but my soul stays in Bangladesh. Thanks to the Almighty, that I am doing very good, and try to do something for the people I left behind ,whose contribution is is to be credited for my establishment and made possible to keep me where I am now. When I see and hear that some one is doing something good for my Bangladesh I pray for them. What could be a better gift than helping to a blind person to see his/her loved ones around,Give a smile to one who could not open his mouth for cleft palate or lips, Extending financial help to continue the most wanted education one deserves.I could only admire and pray for them who can do all these things made possible. TSI is one of those organization that can be admired and appreciated. I congratulate all behind this great endeavour and also looking forward to see some more organizations or individuals come to do the same or join them .I believe it makes a big building from a small brick we should not ever forget our roots, and always should nurture it as much as you can. Looking forward for more efforts and more ideas to bring smile and touch of happiness for those who are so unfortunate. TSI, you are doing a great job. May Allah bless you all.
Great organization led to incredible talet. This group really knows how to deliver value to underserved areas.
The people involved are committed and some of the nicest best intentioned folks it has been my privilege to be around.
Touching Souls International is very dear to my heart. As a founding member I can attest that the work we do is solely base on the true ability to feel the pain for others. As a Non Bangladeshi visiting Bangladesh was a life changing experience for me. The rate of poverty is so overwhelming that all you want to do is help, help humanity to the core and even that is an under statement. TSI has offered so many souls with educational and medical needs that with the blessings of others we can strive to continue our great work and help many many others. Not only we focus on Bangladesh but I personally give time and financial support to Haiti and the US. Thanks to a wonderful organization that I am proud to be part of.
This organization is really great! The team works hard and is passionate and devoted to help people in need.
From my childhood I saw how my parents were helping the needy people of Bangladesh with their disabilities in so many ways, like in cataract related blindness, cleft lip, lost limbs, clubfoot by providing free surgery for the disadvantaged. Many people cannot afford basic medical treatment which are easily treatable and curable and thus suffer from lifelong disability and become a burden for their families and society. For as long as I can remember (more than 20 years), our family has been running all these projects on personal contributions. Last year we officially formed the nonprofit organization Touching Souls International with the hope to make a larger impact in Bangladesh and hopefully to share our learnings and resources with other impoverished nations.
Its a great organization , they are doing a great job for those people who are disable. TSL has a hospital in Babgladesh for disable people they support everything for those people and Its free. To serve this organization to serve poor people in the world.
This is an organization which is dedicated to make a difference in the lives of the people who is in need. Its revenue is completely consumed by the people they serve, no administrative overhead.
The people in this organization are wonderful people! Such kind hearted and genuine passion to help the people in need.
ita a great orgatization, try to help this organization and try to help the poor people of Bangladesh.
When I first heard about TSI, it really touched me because I do a lot of volunteer and charity work through my firm and it made me happy to know that people can take the time out of their busy lives to establish an organization to help improve others lives. TSI has been able to successfully fulfill its mission through a blend of good management, strong governance, and a persistent rededication to achieving results. There are so many opportunities to help out and get involved. Its amazing to know that humanity does exist in some people and that there are people out that truly care to make this world a better, more livable place.
I am a Board member of Touching Souls International, New York. During this summer I had a chance to go to Bangladesh and participate in one of our eye camp in Shakhipur, Tangail. It was an exceptional experience for me. Before going there physically, I could not imagine how grateful those cataract blind who are getting the free cataract surgery completely free of cost from Touching Souls International. 70 year old Ansar Ali was cataract blind for the last 9 years. When his bandage was removed after cataract surgery, he was crying in joy and was saying, "who are these people who is giving my sight back again. Are they Angels from God?" Since 2005 our organization has given sight to 616 cataract blind like Ansar Ali. Many needy people are getting their support for their disabilities in so many ways. They are getting free artificial limb, free cleft lip surgeries, free clubfoot surgeries, free cataract surgeries and free treatment of the paralyzed and disabled in a 80 bed hospital.
I have tried to get involved with many organization in the past, but TSI is supported by passionate and devoted individuals. When you see the progress that TSI made, you really feel like your helping to do something great! TSI is by far my favorite non- profit organization to volunteer for, as well as an amazing organization that gives others a second chance. Imagine being able to see after so many years of suffering... wouldn't you feel great knowing you helped add color to someone's world?
Touching Souls International is a wonderful organization who provides valuable and needed service to those in need. The director and board are committed to improving the lives of the needy in Bangladesh, those who are often overlooked and ignored. I am proud to be a member of the board
Touching Souls International running eye camp, cleft lip project , palliative care project , self reliant project , awarding scholarships, educating slum kids , financing operation in Nurture Hospital are some of the magnificent task doing in an wonderful fashion----something to be treasured and something to be remembered for ever......
I think the work that TSI is doing is very commendable. They are helping the disadvantaged in so many different ways. They've had various projects they've spearheaded over the years. I think the most notable are the surgery camps in which they provide free surgeries to those in need. Between the cleft-lip, cataract eye, and limb replacement surgeries, they've done a world of good and have made such a huge impact on people's lives.
As a board member, I feel proud to be a memeber of this organization . its a great organization, which is providing services in disabilities such as paralized people in a 80 bed hospital for paralyzed and disabled, providing free cleft lip surgeries, free cataract surgeries, artificial limbs to very needy people of Bangladesh.
I am one of the board member for Touching Souls International, a nonprofit organization which is one of the most reliable organization. I feel proud to be a part of this organization. This is an organization where the board members carries on the running expenses of the organization. Any donation goes 100% for the causes we support.
Putting artificial limb to the limbless people, giving eyesight to the blind, providing education to the slum kids TSI is doing excellent job to serve the humanity . My house is nearby NURTURE HOSPITAL in Chittagong . TSI is doing great job to serve the distressed and destitutes.
I worked as a volunteer in thr latest eye camp at Jahangirnagar organized by the Touching souls int. It was an wonderful experience that i never got before. In the eye camp over 500 people with eye problem were treated and some of them (around 40) were selected for cataract surgery. As far i know the Touching souls int. organizing such medical camps at random around the Dhaka division and i hope it will be extended throughout the Bangladesh. My suggestion is to bring more efficiency and discipline in the management of the medical camps. i wish best of luck of touching souls and others who are involved for their such effort.
Touching Souls International, a New York based nonprofit organization is providing free services in various fields of disability service and support in Bangladesh including cataract surgeries, artificial limb, in and outpatient hospital services for paralyzed and disabled, cleft lip surgeries, regular free surgeries for various disorders, clubfoot surgery etc. I was amazed learning that the organization is carrying out all these activities for last 25+ years out of family contribution only. Bangladesh being a highly populated developing country many people cannot afford basic medical treatment of ailments which are easily treatable and curable and thus suffer from lifelong disability and become burden for family and society. As for example, as a tropical country, cataract related blindness is quite prevalent in Bangladesh but relatively very few people can afford a simple surgery which could render them functional and independent and improve the quality of their life. Many children are born in Bangladesh with cleft-lip and club-foot, while a basic surgery could repair the defect and offer a normal life to grow up for such children and change their life, in reality very few children get this opportunity because of poverty and lack of awareness. Because of accidents and various disease conditions many people in Bangladesh become disabled or paralyzed, but due to poverty and unavailability of services, especially in rural areas many underprivileged and disadvantaged people lose their independence and suffer whole life. I wish Touching Souls International all the best in all their future endeavors and achieve their goal
Touching Souls International is an A+ organization in their philanthropy. They are serving the people of a third world country with many disabilities like cleft foot, cleft lip, artificial limb, cataract surgeries and treatment for the paralyzed. The organization offers all these services free of charge for the needy people of Bangladesh.
I am serving as a Regional Director of Touching Souls International in Canada. Touching Souls International nonprofit organization where 100% of the donation goes to its different projects of disability for the people of Bangladesh. For the philanthropic help of Touching Souls International so many needy people are getting the benefit in so many ways. They are getting free artificial limb, free cleft lip surgeries, free clubfoot surgeries, free cataract surgeries and free treatment of the paralyzed and disabled. From year 2001 we are running free cleft lip surgery camp going in different parts of Bangladesh. So far we did 36 cleft lip camp through which close to 700 people got free cleft lip surgeries, saving them from their facial birth defect.
Working at the latest EYE CAMP at Jahangir Nagar University, Bangladesh, organized by Touching Souls International, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Firstly, their idea of organizing an eye camp, thus, providing a form of specialized medicare, while not a novel concept but is rarely practiced at Bangladesh. Providing a high quality free eye care is essential in Bangladesh mainly because, the working condition, lifestyle etc makes Bangladeshi adults (over 50) more susceptible to eye cataracts than many other South Asian Nations. However, the financial state of vast majority of the sufferers, renders them unable to get support for their eye condition, which is often a very costly proposition, even at Bangladesh. Touching souls International, apart from providing above 500 people with free eye check-up, spectacles and with medications, took the daring step of carrying out surgical removal of the eye cataract of selected patients. Their initiative has certainly ensured that people who were removed from the workforce, despite their otherwise, healthy condition, are once again back to work, contribute to their family and to the society as a whole. I wish touching souls international all the best in all their future endeavors and I really wish to work with them again… :)
Touching Souls International is the best organization to help many needy people to get their normal life. looking forward to join them to help every aspect.....
Touching Souls International lives up to its name in every way imaginable. I try to take out time to donate funds to charitable organizations when I can, but only if I feel that the cause strikes close to home. I have worn glasses and contacts for most of my life and when I am without either, I feel helpless, so bad is my vision. And when I think that there are people who are blind, or close to it, and that they have no means of seeing such as I have (ie my glasses), I cannot imagine the difficulties and emotional stresses they go through. Touching Souls helps people in this situation and by donating to their cause I feel that I am helping to give the gift of vision to those less fortunate than myself. And charity is the gift that keeps on giving. Touching Souls is amazing and has done soo much good. They are doing what some of us can only dream of doing and they definately have made this world a little better 1 step at a time.
My name is Rayan Uddin. My 85 year old grandmother, Habilunnessa was cataract blind for more than a decade. She was unable to see anything. She needed a cataract surgery. We could not afford to give her one. For years she was suffering with her cataract until July of this year, when she got her free surgery from Touching Souls International. My grandmother is so happy now, having her eyesight back, which was only possible for the philanthropic work of the nonprofit, Touching Souls International. Just like my grand mother so many cataract blind are getting their sight back for the charity work of Touching Souls International. For most of the Bangladeshis cataract surgery is not affordable. So many of them stays blind for the rest of their lives, unless they can get some help from any other source. My grandmother now prays for the people who are cataract blind may be helped by Touching Souls International. Her opinion without seeing, life is not worth of living.
Touching Souls International provides many projects to help disabled peoples in many ways. The organization provides ongoing eye camps going in different parts of Bangladesh to provide free cataract surgeries to cataract blind people who can not afford to have one without any help from others. The organization provides free cleft lip surgeries to disadvantaged, artificial limbs who are in need, runs 2 schools, one in remote village where the kids would never see the light of learning and one for the slum kids in the city, run a eighty bed hospital for paralyzed, provide 12 free surgeries in each month for needy patients.
