The Torrey Pines High School Foundation has been dedicated to serving ALL STUDENTS for over 25 years.
One of the amazing programs the foundation sponsors is Challenge Days.

The goal of the Challenge Day program is to build community and to help end the teasing, harassment and alienation that are so deeply a part of the high school experience for millions of teenagers every day. Challenge Day is a powerful and transformational day that can change the way people view each other forever. It is a day of fun, friendship, and new possibilities. This Challenge Day is for all grade levels. Thank you TPHS Foundation!

I have been on the Foundation board for 8 years, and we have worked hard to put into place the best practices required of a nonprofit to earn the Platinum Seal of Transparency. Our high school district is revenue limited, and our Foundation raises money for classroom support, student connectedness, parent and community engagement and education, and booster group support (academic and athletic). Many thanks to Zephyr Fletcher (executive director) and her team for reaching this goal!

The TPHS Foundation, like the other four public high school foundations in the San Dieguito Union High School District lack full transparency and safe guards for the public high school students. We do not believe this Foundation is transparent at all as they are unable to answer simple questions about if donations are truly directly benefiting the public high school students. The School District can't reconcile the amounts the Foundations payout in program expenses and the Foundations refuse the open the books to show where the money is actually being spent.
