Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Community Service Clubs
Mission: To enhance greater akron by investing in the development, connection and engagement of our membership comprised of evolving leaders with a passion to impact our community.
Programs: Torchbearers seeks to serve our members and the akron community in many ways. Specifically, torchbearers provides leadership development opportunities to our members, including a leadership development curricullum designed specifically for our first year members, opportunities to connect with the akron community via sponsored community service projects, a board shadowing program and other events designed to get our members in front of other community leaders.
sparc (small projects achieving real change) - sparc provided torchbearer members a jumpstart opportunity to partner with outside community members/leaders and organizations through small, impactful, pop-up encounters or programming ideas. Members participated in fast, dynamic outward-facing interactions with a focus on talent attraction and retention within akron city limits. Torchbearers believes providing our membership the ability to partner creatively with each other and community organizations will result in meaningful change in our communities.
