Mission: Tomorrow's Generation, Inc. founded in 1994, grew out of the need to find volunteers willing to commit to tutoring and mentoring to youth and familes. Since its inception the organization has had no paid staff as it has been strictly run by volunteers and in-kind donated space from community based organization, schools, etc. Additionally, participants are taught to take advantage of available resources; engage in self-help food distributions, economic development, community service, arts, mentoring and educational programs and provide resources and technology to build and support self-sustaining community institutions in which all may participate, serve and lead with dignity.
Programs: TGI programs include advocating for youth and families, helpline, referral resource services, tutoring, mentoring, arts, volunteering and subsidize food purchase program where individuals can save almost 50% off their grocery bill by volunteering time to the community. A total of 6,000 hours per month or more is given by our participants to the community lead by dedicated volunteer host site coordinators.
