We have been attending events at the Tomales Town Hall for the past eight years and have yet to be disappointed. The Hall has served as a venue for Tomales High School's Tin Pan Band concert to a recently completed series of locally acclaimed Bluegrass artists. The space is warm and the volunteers manning the ticketing and bar are welcoming. Most of the hall's upkeep and improvement is done by volunteers as well. The Hall is a place where folks from the surrounding rural coastal villages and ranches get together for performances and fundraisers for local non-profits such as the volunteer fire department and pre-school. Weekly yoga & dance classes draw in additional crows, and the weekly food bank provides a vital service to many in the community. It's amazing that this structure has been critical to the community's activities for nearly 150 years!
Review from Guidestar
The Tomales Town Hall and its team of volunteers have been serving the rural community of West Marin in various capacities since 1874. among other events, this iconic hall hosts, meetings, a food bank pantry, weddings, volunteer fire breakfasts, and is gathering place for any organization who needs a versatile venue location in a beautiful setting. The committed Town Hall volunteers have made beautiful upgrades to the interior and have big plans coming together for a planned "Rejuvenation" of the main structure. I have used this hall for over 20 years with 4-H meetings, school plays, concerts, agricultural collaboration workshops, dinners, and my Wedding reception.
The world needs more Tomales Town Halls, this is a place that truly holds onto history and builds community!
