Mission: TCCI has the dream of participating whole-heartedly in shifting the dream of the planet to bring happiness and joy into the world by encouraging heightened and meticulous self-awareness coupled with gentle compassion, love for self and others, and an ideal of service to the community.
Programs: TCCI operates the Center in Berkeley, California, as well as working with other Toltec organizations, and leading groups of apprentices around the country. By following the practices of the spiritual warrior, TCCI teaches that individuals will experience the sense of peace and contentment that comes from finally breaking free from layers of self-limiting thoughts and fulfilling their true potential as human beings. TCCI honors and respects all spiritual traditions, and members gather in community in a circle to remind them of the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. The Toltec community gathers regularly for shamanic healing circles, worship services, and small classes. The healing circles held at the Berkeley Center support attendees as they open as channels to the Divine through chanting, singing, and music. They believe that individuals have the power to bring the Divine healing force into themselves for hands-on healing of themselves and others. They gather to open themselves to this Light of Spirit and share this light for spiritual, emotional and physical healing and integration. Healing Circles are facilitated by the ministers of the Center, are held monthly, and are free to the public. Weekly classes, or focus or study groups, are similar to worship services in their structure, although there are fewer attendees and they include more time for group discussion. These classes are facilitated by teachers, minister trainees, are held two or three times each week, and cost around $15 each (depending on location). The worship services, led by one or more of the Center ministers, bring the community together in singing and chanting, ritual, and prayer. Each worship service begins with a meditation designed to bring each individual into the present moment, is followed by an inspirational message by a minister, and includes singing, chanting, and ritual. Each ritual is designed to help the community connect to their divine and creative self and to remember them of their ability to co-create their lives with the Divine. Worship services are facilitated by the ministers of TCCI, are held monthly, and are free to the public. Individuals who are interested in going deeper into the shamanic studies are also invited to join apprenticeship circles, which are 6-month intensive spiritual journeys.
