I love volunteering with this non-profit because I can see firsthand how it impacts children and the community. Children who have had the opportunity to attend Woodward have returned home with new found confidence and maturity. They are able to find and excel at their passion all the while learning life-building skills.
Tim was a tour advocate not only for skateboarding but for children and the arts.
I'm pleased I have the ability to honor his memory.
I'm admire the efficiency of which this organization operates. Their events are produced strictly using a volunteer base, which is impressive in itself.
Not only do they operate a top notch event, but their dedication to assisting youths, especially in the climate of our world affairs, is much appreciated and needed.
I am never disappointed when attending an event they have organized.
Keep up the good work!
Tim Brauch sent me to camp, where I had a great time! I learned new tricks and made new friends. The best part is I got to go in the Wrecktangle for the first time. The Wrecktangle is a parkour-ninja warrior course. Also, there's skate parks everywhere you go! and the roaster coaster (which used to be a pump track) was paved! so the skate boards could go on it.
My children were both chosen by the Tim Brauch foundation to attend Woodward West action sports camp as skateboarders. It was an amazing experience where they learned new skills, pushed themselves, gained confidence, made new friends, connected with wonderful instructors and leaders. Without Tim Brauch, this would never have been possible!
The Tim Brauch Foundation has become a fiscal sponsor for a number of large scale mural projects with local schools and non-profits. I have worked with the foundation on public art pieces advocating environmental issues through community outreach programs. Without the help of the foundation, we would not have been able to accomplish some of the largest projects in the City of Santa Cruz with 10 international muralists. They have helped us secure grants and continue to inspire thousands of people in our community each day through public art. I am extremely lucky to have such a close relationship with such an amazing nonprofit.
So inspiring when a non-profit rocks its mission the way “Tim Brauch” does. This is really an amazing association of community-oriented, service-minded people creatively collaborating to provide a unique outlet for valuable training, healthy play and meaningful art to skaters, artists and hospitalized children. The foundation also earnestly involves and supports other young people by tapping their varied talents in real ways to be part of the structure of the non-profit and learn to actively "give back." So much good, honoring friendship and providing legacy, thank you for your example!
The Tim Brauch Foundation works hard to ensure that kids get to pursue their passion, giving them opportunities to advance their skating skills. Beyond that, it’s a great group of people who want to help their community. Being a Junior Board Member, has helped me understand the inner workings of non-profits, events and fundraisers. The Tim Brauch Foundation does great work and I am so grateful to be apart of it.
Tim Brauch helped my two sons get to skateboarding camp this summer at Woodward West. It was an absolutely amazing experience and definitely has shaped their character and drive going forward. What is most beautiful about the foundation is it is not based on skate ability (even though Tim Brauch was an amazing skateboarder), but instead it is based on the attitude of the child and what they contribute to their community. We will definitely be applying for this scholarship again in the future and we try to live our lives on Tim brauch’s principles each day.
Well run non-profit that is very mission-focused to help kids. They do a great job at getting volunteers involved and making events successful!
This foundation does great things for kids to keep them skating and give them an opportunity to go to Woodward west which they normally wouldn’t be able to do, Woodard gives them an awesome chance to make friends and bond over skating and learn lots of new things!
The Tim Brauch Foundation is an amazing non profit, focusing on the kids having fun and creating futures at the time time! They get youth involved with the community and teach them how to be fiscally responsible!
Tim Brauch Foundation was formed nearly 20 years ago. Since then it has been giving kids a chance to shine in something they are talented in and passionate about : skateboarding. Its a joy to know that young people are supported in something they love to do. I am proud to be associated with this beautiful network of hardworking, dedicated and committed volunteers.
I am a junior board member for the Tim Brauch foundation. The Tim Brauch foundation is a nonprofit organization that gives kids scholarships to go to Woodward witch is an amazing action sports camp. The problem about Woodward is that its over $1000. A lot of kids like my self dream to go but can't afford it. I have now gone 3 times with a scholarship from the Tim Brauch foundation. I've dreamed of going since i started skating but could never afford it. My dream of going would never have came true without the Tim Brauch and I have now joined to help other kids with the same dream as me come true just like mine did.
Love that kids make a difference by helping other kids! Our junior board members work hard year round to fund-raise, be fiscally responsible and work hard to enrich other kids lives by providing scholarships.
The Tim Brauch Foundation is a super great non profit that helps kids get to Woodward and experience something that they wouldn’t normally be able to do, it’s awesome to see the kids volunteer and raise money for something they are passionate about !
I've been a board member for 2 years and have found this to be an incredibly positive nonprofit. I sit on the board with my 2 sons, 14yrs and 8yrs . This has been an incredible experience for us all.
My two boys have been skating the Tim Brauch street contest for the past seven years. This past summer my oldest son earned a scholarship from this foundation to go to Woodward skate camp. He had an incredible experience as we all do at all the events and contests we participated in. We have since become board members ourselves so that we can further contribute to this awesome foundation.
Being apart of this foundation has introduced me to many new people, opportunities and fun times. It feels good to help the skating community and make kids smile.
It is one of the best nonprofit organization I have ever been to. It’s a great benefit for young kids which is pretty impressive to me! The money is for the children not for the organization. There is a lot of volunteers which says good things about them.
If there were only one word to describe the Tim Brauch Foundation and it's members, that word, for me, would be inspiration.
The Tim Brauch Foundation's passion to preserve and share the memories, the love, and the legacy of Pro
Skateboarder Timothy "Tim" Michael Brauch who passed away suddenly in 1999 at the age of 25 due to a heart condition.
The foundation continues to share the legacy and the impresson Tim made on countless friends along his path of
life around the world. They teach valuable experiences, core values , life lessons, and leadship skills to young children, teens, and adults alike all through positive mentorship and a true passion for the foundation's message.
Much of their message is fueled by the remembrance and spirt of Tim Brauch who belived in, and lived life to it's fullest everyday while making a positive impact on the people he met around the world while inspiring their lives.
The lives that are touched by the foundations efforts inspire long term positive change of these individuals which help them reach goals and have un-forgettable experiences which they may not otherwise have access to.
The foundation, inspires individuals to take the time to live life to it's funnest, it's fullest and to make a positive impact on those who cross our paths along the way. Like Tim, The Tim Brauch Foundation embodies this message. Through his spirt, they are a shining light...an active, living oragnaization that inspires everyone that it touches and give hopes to dreamers and make those dreams come true.
I have been fortunate to be a witness, a participant, and a recipient of the dedication and hard work the foundation provides to so many people throughout the u.s. and the world. I am truly thankful for the Foundation, all of it's members and their passion.
Mitchell Mendez -Skateboarder and
Recipient:2017 Spirt of Tim Brauch Award
I feel lucky (and honored) to have been able to join the Board of Directors two years ago. It's a great feeling of achievement to give kids scholarships to attend Woodward West, the premier action sports summer camp, to raise funds for our Interactive Art Program in cooperation with the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, and, to top it off, mentor our Junior Board members to become hardworking and charitable members of our society, all in the name of an amazing individual, Tim Brauch. This is an amazing non-profit organization!
This is one of the best nonprofits I have ever seen. It’s for children of all ages who work very hard. 100 percent goes to the kids who participate. I enjoy going to their events!
Being on the Tim BRAUCH Foundation board has been a true pleasure. We work and plan throughout the year to produce and deliver 2 great contests annually. We do it for the love of our community, skateboarding, and empowering youth. Ultimately resulting in sending kids to Woodward West action sports camp for the best week of their lives.
The contests are the result of months of hard work and a lot of planning; so worth it!
MERGE4 attended the Tim Brauch Foundation 19th Annual Street and Bowl contests and we were so stoked to be a sponsor and have a booth at the event - lots of great people working hard to make this event and foundation awesome!
I've sat one the Board of the Tim Brauch Foundation for almost 8 years and have loved every second of it - this foundation does so much to give back to the kids from scholarship recipients to the Interactive Art Connection with Scotty to teaching our Junior Board Members as much as we can while they're on. It's all around an awesome foundation all about the kids!
I've sat on the Board of this nonprofit since 2012, I love being a part of the Street and Bowl Contest every year--it's such a great feeling getting to watch the Junior Board Members grow and learn such useful skills, from teamwork all the way to grant writing these kids are learning lifelong skills while also giving back to the community which is rad!!
Working with this nonprofit has been an awesome experience! The events were well organized and fun. Everyone was super positive and worked as a team. I will definitely come back next year because it was a such a great experience for a good cause.
This was my first time volunteering for the Tim Brauch Foundation. The event was super fun and the people involved were awesome! I had a positive experience on so many different levels and am looking forward to the next event. I especially love that this event promotes kids (and adults) to strap on their skate helmets while riding and at the same time, is also promoting screen-free, outdoor, stress relieving, social activity. The raffle had great prizes and winning a super cool deck with all the fixings made the already great day...amazing!
My Name is Spidey De Montrond I am retired professional skateboarder and I attended the Tim Brauch Foundation pool competition. I was impressed by the organization and the event with its emphasis on improving the lives of children through the scholarships they give to kids. I'd wished it was around when I was kid. The staff was so welcoming and knowledgeable. Another aspect I enjoyed was seeing and hearing the kids stories firsthand of how they felt about going to Woodward because of the scholarships provided them.
The Tim Brauch Foundation is super cool. The people, the music, the food and the vibe was so good. The volunteers were great to work with and all was on point and put together well.
I have attended the Tim Brauch Memorial contest for the last 6 years and I have judged it for the last 3 years for World Cup Skateboarding. The contest has been run flawlessly and the volunteers have gone above and beyond to make sure it does. They work with the community and have done some pretty amazing things with their scholarship programs. I look forward to many more great years ahead, and I am proud to be a part of it.
I have attended this event as a spectator in the past, and was lucky enough to volunteer this year and become a board member. I am extremely impressed how this foundation is organized. Year round volunteers work very hard behind the scene to make this event so succesfull. The foundation consists of an adult board and a JR. Board. The JR. board consists of high school students, whom are very passionate about the cause. These JR board members demonstate responsibility, dedication, working as a team, giving back to their community and even learn how to write grants! Not only is the event AMAZING to watch, it is a worthy cause. The monies raised sponsor less fortunate kids to attend skate camp. There could not be a better way to honor Tim Bausch and his pasion for skateboarding.
My family has been involved with the Tim Brauch Foundation events for many years now.
This year I was fortunate enough to volunteer at the Scotts Valley street contest. It was a great experience to work with such fun and dedicated people. I look forward to many more.
I just wanted take the opportunity to say how much we appreciate the Tim Brauch Foundation and all of the people involved. Our son is so fortunate to have received the the Woodward Scholarship two years in a row, but it is so much more than that to us and our family. They are all about supporting the skate community and its families. It is great group of people and volunteers that keeps the foundation going. We love helping out and supporting this foundation.
The Chavez Family
I joined this foundation to help out the skateboarding community. I have been skating for a long time and think that this is a cool way to give back. I went to Camp Woodward and it was an amazing experience. It feels great to help kids go there. At the contests everyone is super friendly. I help out with what I can and have a great time. I'm glad to be part of this foundation and believe it's a very cool thing to be apart of.
The Tim Brauch Foundation is nothing short of stellar! Their passion and drive to serve their community is next to none. The board members go above and beyond the call of duty every year and ask for nothing in return. Their dedication to the cause truly defines altruistic service. They are an excellent partner in the action sports community. They bring enthusiasm, positivity and professionalism to every interaction I have with them. The Lake Cunningham Skate Park is looking forward to a long standing relationship with this outstanding group of people for years to come!
I've been working with the Tim Brauch Foundation for 3 years now, and I'm continually impressed by how professional and hard working the people behind it are. They've consistently done incredible things like producing events like the Tim Brauch Memorial Skate Contest–an event that would be logistically challenging for any organization. I've also seen the amazing skills this organization has been able to impart to their youth volunteers. The business skills and positive youth leadership training is such an incredible opportunity for the kids. When the youth volunteers speak about it, you can see it in their faces. These are great people doing great work.
The Tim Brauch foundation is great!!! They have sent me to Woodward and I've bean doing this contest for 7 years and now I'm a junior board member. They are awesome and have never let me down!
Every year for the last 18 years this..... is the skateboarding event to be at in NorCal ! It our version of Vans pool party....... Tim style !
Having been a judge for World Cup skateboarding for 12 of these years I have seen the dynamic of this event be so positive and supporting all types of endeavors! charitable works , non profit internships, the volunteers are amazing! All they do to make this event happen! It's non stop ! Please support the Tim Brauch foundation! Skater support is the best support! Steve-o ..... out N-4Life. BMC
As a skateboarder myself since 1975, skateboard industry participant since 1985, as well as live event production experiences in action sports world-wide since 1998, I cannot express the amount of admiration I have for the Tim Brauch Foundation.
The Tim Brauch Foundation is a wonderful organization that honors the memory of San Jose native professional skateboarder, Tim Brauch. Tim is appreciated globally for his prowess on a skateboard as well as his welcoming personality. Since their inception 18 years ago the Tim Brauch Foundation has represented his legacy well with a balance of excellent skateboarding events while continually giving back to the community and youth in general with their programs. Unique to their organization (as far as I know) is their "Junior Board Member Program" that embraces youths who show interest in the inner workings of the organization. These participants are given opportunities to help facilitate all aspects of event planning from initial discussions right through to final execution. This is sort of experience will be indispensable later in their lives for problem-solving skills.
The Tim Brauch Foundation is dynamic in that they are are always looking for avenues to embrace a greater portion of the community. They have their "Send A Kid To Woodward Camp" program, tried and true. While newer is their exciting "Interactive Art Connection" program, which reaches out to children in Bay Area hospitals through art. Program leader Scott Greathouse is an accomplished artist in his own right and retains that shining personality, reminiscent of Tim Brauch himself.
This foundation is full incredibly hard working and positive individuals. The skate competitions are a amazingly coordinated and exciting event that brings out the best in skateboarding and the best in everyone who attends. The spirit of competition is alive and well as is the spirit of Tim who is honored before the start of the festivities. The foundation perfectly balances the remembrance of Tim and the achieving of their goal to send kids to WoodWard West. I fully support this foundation and cannot wait until their next contest.
These guys are great they work so hard to put on something that they are passionate about and that helps the community at the same time. big thumbs up!!
Lets see, where do I start ? I was at the very first TMB contest in a parking lot, WOW how this contest has taken on a life of its own! This has grown to a world class event because of the board and Jr board members. This is the only contest I know of that with the help of its board members, raise money to put kids through the best skate camp around.
How awesome is that !!!!
A friend of mine got me to voulenteer for The Tim Brauch Foundation a couple years ago. Getting to see my favorite skater from when i was a kid, Steve Caballero was awesome. The kids love the events they put on, as do all the adults. I have seen how hard everyone on the board works to keep it going, I dont know how they find the time in their day. The money they raise goes to sending kids to camp woodward, I could only imagine how excited I would have been if I got to go when I was younger.
I'm always so happy to be a part of the Tim Brauch Foundation's 2 annual skateboard contests. Everybody volunteering at the contest is super helpful and willing to work hard while still having fun and raising money for a great cause, the best part about volunteering is getting to see all your hard work put to use when the scholarship recepiants get sent to Woodward West. Every year that I volunteer my time I work at both Scotts Valley, and San Jose Contests helping out our Chef Andy Colehower that comes in, or manning the grill when he isn't around. We each get two 30 minute breaks thorough ought the day and at the beginning of each contest we have a meeting to get everybody prepared for the day where we also receive an envelope with 6 drink vouchers, 2 food vouchers, and 1 T-shirt voucher to make sure we're all fed and watered.
Thanks Dak! We couldn't have done it without you guys! Super appreciated!
The Tim Brauch Foundation is such a blessing to the sports industry! My two son's have both received scholarships for Woodward West skateboard camp from the Time Brauch Foundation and we are so incredibly thankful! What this foundation does for kids is amazing! They truly care and are in it wholeheartedly for the kids and the sport. That is why they are so successful and I would highly recommend them for award and donation!
I was blessed to know Tim Brauch and I love supporting the Tim Brauch Foundation in his honor. They put on super awesome skate contests, send youth to Woodward West skate camp, they have a junior board to mentor youth and teach them business skills, and they also sponsor an art program that goes into hospitals and under funded schools to teach art. This is a wonderful non profit!!!
What an awesome event with equally awesome people! This was our first year to participate and also the first experience for the boys to watch PRO Skaters and even a few Legends up close and personal!
The Tim brauch foundation is so rad!! Sending kids to skate camp that wouldn't be able to go otherwise is absolutely amazing!! I can only imagine the stoke they create. Making kids feel included is a huge service, I commend their efforts 100%!!!
My experience with the Tim Brauch Foundation has been a great experience on many levels. Working together with other board members and volunteers toward a common goal of getting kids to Woodward West, we plan and collaborate all year and then run two contests in two different cities. We have an amazing group of board members, honorary board members, and volunteers. I'm really proud of all our efforts and the fact that we are able to ultimately send kids to an awesome camp AND we have increased that number every year. Its also a great feeling to volunteer, give back to the community, and be a part of our exciting events. Tim Brauch Foundation is pretty amazing!
I am pleased and proud to have been asked to join the Board of the Tim Brauch Memorial Foundation. The Board's goal is to send kids to an action sports camp, Woodward West, for a week where they will likely have the time of their lives. It couldn't be more rewarding. We meet monthly (more often as the contests near) to discuss, plan, organize, and construct our objectives. Its great being a part of such an enterprising group of people.
We work hard all year to make these events happen. I am proud of our collective contributions to a greater good.
What i like about the foundation is that we, as a group, get to put togeter both a street contest and a pro bowl contest that has pro skaters such as Steve Cabillero. I have been participating with this contest since i was three years old, and watching how it has progressed is insane. Being a Junior Board member is awesome because I get to help decide and help make descisions that shape the contest. Another awesome thing about the Tim Brauch Foundation is that we send kids to WoodWard. THE TIM BRAUCH FOUNDATION ROCKS!
The Tim Brauch Foundation is a fantastic non-profit that promotes physical activity through skateboarding. As I have been skateboarding since I was eight, I appreciate the positivity that this organization has created throughout both the sport and the surrounding cities. The contests and scholarships have shown the true compassion and commitment that skateboarders have.
This foundation has been around for along time and the Jr member have been killing it. They do so much to help kids go to skate camp at woodward west. Most of the kids would never be able to go to a camp like this. This is also the longest running bowl contest around and it's only going to get better as the youth keeps it going! Tim's spirit lives!!! Being a board member and part of this contest for the 4 years have been RAD!
This is the non-profit to know about! Sending kids to Woodward is a game changer where they learn about respect, independence and life long friendships in addition to skills. Volunteers get to work with great staff and be a part of an awesome event that include professional skateboarding world wide.
I have been a board member for 2 years and have volunteered as medical response at the fundraising skateboarding events since 2005. The event itself draws many people who represent the skateboard community. Everyone from professional skateboarders to young kids who just love to roll around, can participate. Others get to see the youthful fun of skateboarding at the contest site. The San Jose fundraising event is an exciting place to participate in raffles, music, and viewing exceptional skateboarding. The Tim Brauch Foundation is also the vehicle to allow kids to apply for a chance at going to camp @ Woodward West. This is a chance of a lifetime for most. Woodward is the equivalent of a 5 star resort for action sports, and caters to kids in a camp environment. The Tim Brauch Foundation fosters an active lifestyle through skateboarding and connecting with the true skateboarding family that extends beyond the riders.
Volunteering with Tim Brauch was a great experience. The contest was super fun and it was awesome to watch everyone skating and having a great time. Everyone on the board was super helpful and nice and I'd love to help out again.
I was chosen to replace a previous youth board member who was leaving for college. I was brought in and although I felt nervous at first Everyone on the board was kind and welcoming making me immediately feel at home. I have now been on the board for a couple months and my experience has done nothing but improve since.
I first heard about the Tim Brauch Foundation from my friends involved in the contest. Upon learning more about the foundation and its purpose, I became interested in becoming a junior board member. I believe that the Tim Brauch Foundation is a great and rare contest to help kids who normally wouldn't be able to afford Woodward to attend the camp.
Volunteering with the Tim Brauch Memorial Foundation was such an enriching experience. Everyone who volunteers and is a part of the foundation is awesome and being able to be a part of a group like this is such an amazing opportunity.
Growing up in the Bay Area, I had heard about the event before but had never been able to go.This year was my first year attending and volunteering at the Tim Brauch contest at Lake Cunningham, and I had a great time.
The event was well run and planned, and it was awesome seeing so many skaters of all ages attending.
Definitely an organization I'd support, and I hope to be able to help again at future events!
I was a runner for Dave Duncan (the voice of skateboarding). It was cool to hear him announce my name over the mic and then bring the judges and pro's drinks. Overall the judges and skateboarders were really friendly and easy to work with. The contest was great. So great that I'm volunteering for the street contest.
We (Consolidated Skateboards) had a booth a the last Tim Brauch Memorial Skate Contest, and I have to say, it was one of the most fun, feel good, events I had attended! We had such a great time and Cindi did such a great job in making sure everything went seamlessly....there were no blips of which I was aware of.
I hardly ever write reviews on anything, but I just had to with this, because everything was so great about it. I can't say it enough about what a great event this is, so we'll just leave it at that!
The Tim Brauch Foundation Bowl Contest was a great event. Overall positive atmosphere with everyone supporting each other. I was on the grill. People seemed to enjoy everything from the food to the camaraderie all in the spirit of Tim Brauch. A FUN EVENT!!!
Thanks a ton Turbos! You were awesome and your help incredibly appreciated!
I've had the pleasure of recently joining the board for the Tim Brauch Foundation. I've been so impressed by the dedication of all the members at not only keeping the memory of Tim Brauch alive, but also for the impact the foundation makes in the community. The junior board members are instrumental in the success of the foundation. They donate their talents and time and pull off the most amazing skateboard contests every year. Many skateboarders who participated in past contests have gone on to sponsorship or professional careers. Their impact is far reaching and the foundation is also creating future leaders.
I've been lucky enough to be part of this organization for 4 years now and this year was by far the best year yet! It's always a pleasure and honor to represent this contest. People don't understand how hard everyone works on this event all year long to make it happen! Now the bar has been raised for next year! I wanna thank Cindi and Karen personally for all those two ladies do! The street contest is coming up so come and and support this great event and cause! Sending kids to Woodward skate camp is so awesome and "Beans" aka (Tim Brauch) is super stoked on everything done in his name and spirit!
Another incredible event in the books in San Jose, which just gets better and better each year. Being one of the lucky one's to hover over a BBQ for most of the day, I have the reward of feeding hungry skaters and attendees... creating big smiles. One word for the entire event? Family. The volunteer crew that Cindi has put together is amazing, all for a great cause, in honor of Tim Brauch. Looking forward to the Scotts Valley event at the end of the month (8/30) - come in for some killer street tacos and dogs! ~AC
The people who organize and volunteer for this foundation are inspiring and incredibly dedicated. They honor the spirit of Tim Brauch by helping others become better human beings. I imagine he has been very stoked since this thing started 15 years ago.
I have volunteered the past three years and attended longer than that. This place is about giving back...about funneling as much as possible into helping kids hone their life skills at a skate camp or contest… and to discover their passion and be given the opportunity to run with it. That is priceless for anyone, especially a kid.
The people here are fun to be around. No attitude or exclusivity, this place rocks across the board. They are totally professional, in addition, which was such a plus. You feel like things are being managed, but you don't feel like someone is telling you what to do. They are just happy to see you and they make volunteering there a blast!
Thank you for giving ME the opportunity to be helpful!
This foundation makes dreams come true, and I know because they did it for me. I try to get straight A's in school and this year I am a freshmen @ Big Bear High School. I was able to go to camp at the best skate camp probally in the world because of TIM BRAUCH FOUNDATION. I cannot say enough what a great week it was and long live TIM BRAUCH FOUNDATION.
As a Junior Board Member we participate all year long in spreading the word out young skaters to enter the skate competition and to apply for a scholar ship. Its awesome to be a board member because each year we make the foundation better and better, also we get to meet the top skaters. Being apart of this fund is so much fun because every year its a blast to set up and get the peoples attention. plus Cindi Busenhart is the BEST for making all this happen!
I had the honor of volunteering at the Tim Brauch Memorial Fund Skate Contest for the sixth year in the row. However I have been going to this contest since i was born. Each year it has gotten increasingly better wether it was food, sponsors, the raffle or even the Tim Brauch T-shirts. This year there was an extreme amount of new ideas that truly brought the contest to a new level. Thanks to the Tim Brauch Junior Board. There was a new Tim Brauch Logo, Red Bull Truck, Red Bull Tent, 10 autograph skate desks for the raffle and much more. On top of what the Junior Board brought to the table what the competitors brought this year was better than ever. Overall the contest was a complete and utter success and I was so happy to be a part of something so amazing.
