TRDF is among the top relief and emergency humanitarians working to help people in the homeland and across diaspora.

The Tigray Disaster Relief Fund (TDRF) is a dynamic organization that I had the pleasure of serving for two years in a volunteer capacity as a Board Member. This was an overwhelmingly positive experience for me as a professional and community member.

First, TDRF is an organization where your charitable donation will truly support the causes and communities you care about. A challenge a number of nonprofits are faced with (especially those with causes outside of the United States) is that how an organization spends their money may be different than what is expected by the donors or the public. However, TDRF is an organization that lives up to its mission and values, and donors can have the peace of mind that their contributions are effectively spent to directly support programs and services for the betterment of the people of Tigray. TDRF publishes many financial documents that allow the public to see exactly how funds are collected and spent by the organization.

In terms of work, TDRF carefully and systematically evaluates each project prior to funding and tracks the progress and outcome of all funded efforts to report back to donors and the public. Again, the organization communicates this information regularly through an Annual Report, Quarterly Newsletter and social media.

A special point to highlight is that TDRF is collaborative internally and externally. The culture of the organization values and fosters differing opinions, innovation and decisions made with group consensus. TDRF also works to build partnerships with other nonprofits that exist to further similar causes or provide similar benefits to the people of Tigray.

In addition to donating to TDRF, I would encourage those that are interested in supporting relief and development work in Tigray to consider volunteering their skills and talents to the organization. The contribution of your time is not only a benefit to the people of Tigray, but there are many tangible benefits and opportunities at the individual level.

In my experience, there was no better return on my time investment in community work than through TDRF’s board service. The impact you can make with only a couple of hours of board service or other volunteer work a month is dramatically higher than what one could accomplish with those same hours of other direct service. You can also develop invaluable skills in program management, marketing, public relations, communications, finance and more. Boards structured like TDRF that have a collaborative leadership style allow everyone on the team an opportunity to play a critical part in growing the organization.

I am certain TDRF will play a key role in supporting health, social, economic and educational causes in Tigray, as well as continuing to build synergy with sister organizations.

It is often said that in the darkest of times, even a small beacon of light can make a vast difference. Tigray Disaster Relief Fund (TDRF) serves as that significant beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards recovery for the resilient yet beleaguered people of Tigray.

I have been privileged to support TDRF for quite some time now and have been consistently in awe of the tireless efforts put forth by the organization. The TDRF team, composed of deeply passionate and highly professional individuals, has showcased exemplary commitment towards mitigating the catastrophic impacts of war, famine, and atrocities inflicted upon the people of Tigray.

This Tigrayan Diasporic grass root humanitarian organisation! It is non profit empowering Tigrayans at home and rest of the world. Five STARS!

Several months ago we reached out to TRD Fund for a possible partnership since we serve the same community and we've seen their achievements. They prompty arranged for a meeting for introction and follow up discussions. Once they knew who we are, what we do and how we do they signed MOU with us. Later they invited us to present a project proposal that we could accomplish as partners. Months later we presented a proposal (a project to help Tigrayan refugees in Sudan with computer leteracy and general education) that we were working on with other partners, for which needed more funding to achieve its goals. True to their words, they approved a funding for the project in a timely manner.
We are impressed with their focus on purpose, their well defined process and readiness to work with their vetted candidates. They also are accessible and communicate clearly and promptly.

I really love the way this entire non-profit is ran. Their website not allows you to learn more information about Tigray but it also allows you to become a monthly donor with a name for each category. Very user friendly website and extremely up to date and active

I have worked with TDRF since it started in 2018. The work they do saves a lot of lives. They have begun their work by supporting vulnerable internally displaced people in Tigray. Tigray currently is one of the worst places on the planet. An ongoing genocide coupled with a siege that created a humanitarian catastrophe, makes their work critically important. Supporting TDRF, as their motto says is indeed “saving lives and inspiring generations!”
Support TDRF, if you want to directly make a difference in the lives of children, women and other vulnerable groups of people in the area of disaster relief, education, economic welfare and health.

I have been involved with TDRF both as a volunteer and donor. I have the utmost respect for the leadership team and integrity with which it seeks to serve the Tigrayan community. TDRF truly seeks for opportunities to collaborate and minimize duplication of efforts and resources. I would also like to note that it seeks to maximize transparency, especially in the way funds are allocated. There is a great deal of depth and thinking behind every decision the team makes and it has been a rewarding experience.

I volunteer with the Tegaru Disaster Relief Fund and it has been an extremely fulfilling and enjoyable experience. TDRF was established to focus on disaster relief efforts to provide aid to Tigrayans that were forced to be displaced from Gonder and Oromia regions in Ethiopia back in 2018 and currently continues to support organizations on the ground helping families that have been displaced within and outside Tigray since the war on Tigray erupted in November 2020. The leadership team is dedicated to maximizing the effectiveness of every donation they receive and are driven to provide other opportunities by expanding focus areas and not limiting to just disaster relief. I'm excited for the organization’s next projects and all the people whose lives will be impacted by the good work of the Tegaru Disaster Relief Fund.

I am from Tigray and I have only been aware of the organization after the war on Tigray started. TDRF, has been mobilizing funds and funding different organization both in Tigray and Sudan in very creative ways where other funders had a very hard time reaching. TDRF has maintained partnerships with different organization that have provided very crucial and life saving support. One of the projects that I have loved from TDRF is the one where they have worked with Fremnatos Charity Organization in Tigray where people with disabilities, autism, the elderly and children were supported. We heard the plea of these vulnerable people on the verge of dying from starvation and they worked on a certain modality to address the urgent need.

In addition, they are so transparent. This helps avoid a lot of the ambiguity s to where the funding is going to. TDRF should have more funding.

I am a donor and an occasional volunteer for this organization. As someone who has worked for non-profits for most of my career, I look at tax filings and program strategies before I give my resources. This group passed my scrutiny.

I gave them a five star review because: 1. They do good work.
2. They are transparent and responsible with funding.
3. They work collaboratively with other organizations in the same field.

I know at this trying time, I don't donate to or volunteer for this noble nonprofit organisation that works so hard to aid the Tigrayans who are suffering much as a result of the ongoing genocide that Ethiopia and its criminal accomplices are waging against them.

But I have witnessed this organization's tremendously committed and compatriot staff working day and night for approximately two years without stopping to realise the mission and objectives of this organisation. I do keep a careful eye on them. One would be well aware that the core of TDRF is accountability and transparency, which are solid indicators of client satisfaction and contributors' trust in organisations like TDRF. The yearly reports produced make my remark to easily comprehend. There should be more organisations like TDRF in Tigray.

I promise I'll be a devoted donor and supporter of TDRF in the near future. Team TDRF, good luck with your continued efforts. Tigray shall prevail!

I am from Tigray. I strongly believe that those of us in the diaspora who have had the privilege and exposure of a western education have a strong responsibility to help our homeland, particularly in times of crisis.

I am therefore understandably very impressed by the work TDRF has done to support the people of Tigray in the hour of greatest need even prior to the onset of the war.

Specifically:

1) I am supportive of their mission. Tigray has been destroyed, when the time comes Tigray will need to be rebuilt from the ground up in a similar fashion to what was undertaken during the Marshall plan era after World War II. That means support both financial and technical/knowledge based across all sectors. I am therefore encouraged by the scope of their activities from education to public health to entrepreneurship etc

2) Visible verified impact. Outside in TDRF seems to be a very transparent non profit and has been awarded a gold star for said transparency: they have managed to raise and distribute hundreds of thousands of dollars of resources both in cash and kind - this is a great achievement

3) Consistent, high quality communication - the team at TDRF consistently outputs a wide range of communications across a range of mediums utilising varying formats that are appropriate for various audiences and easily digestible

In short they are heroes; hats off to them!

I am both a donor and a volunteer at Tegaru Disaster Relief Fund (TDRF)! TDRF had been supporting internally displaced Tigrayans from all over Ethiopia since 2018.

I joined the group in 2021 following the launch of the unjust war on the people of Tigray, by the fascist Ethiopian and Eritrean governments along with Amhara region forces. TDRF have been exceptionally helpful in the Tigrayan diaspora community from fundraising and supporting projects to connecting donors with different projects, both in Sudan and Tigray.

Ever since I joined the organization as a volunteer, the team has always been highly professional, compassionate, responsive and willing to help. TDRF leadership transparency and integrity that is critical during this time in addressing the humanitarian crisis. In the long run, I hope TDRF continue to solidify its strong organizational capabilities and expand to help build a transparent, efficient and effective capability of Tigray centric organization.
