Threewalls devotes all their energy to supporting the artistic community in Chicago. Even things like fundraisers and tax workshops have artists at the center when Threewalls organizes them. The folks who work there know how important it is to listen and that's how they've been able to provide such amazing opportunities for artists over the last ten years. Those of us in the public who are not artists benefit from the work Threewalls does to make sure Chicago remains an important and dynamic center for the arts. When I visit other cities, artists there know about Threewalls because of projects like the Phonebook of artist-run spaces or the Threewalls residencies.

threewalls is an oasis in the west loop's gallery district. they provide a platform for local artists who's work doesn't fit into the commercial gallery world. often, this makes for more interesting exhibitions. in addition they present tons of great programming and events on a regular basis (last week i just attended an amazing lecture by Erika Nelson about The World's Largest Collection of the World's Smallest Versions of the World's Largest Things. http://www.worldslargest…). support local art, GO TO THREEWALLS
