Mission:
TRAC''s mission is to create and provide adoption opportunities and a range of services for all children growing up without permanent, caring families.
Geographic areas served: Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Philadelphia metro areas
Programs: Adoption Resources services include:
- Family Recruitment: providing adoption and foster care infromation to the community. Families receive one-on-one attention to help them move forward and eventually become a resource for a waiting child.
- Ministry Outreach Initiative: works with area churches to build an adoption and foster care recruiting program that encourages congregations to open their homes to children in need.
- Black Adoption Services Recruitment & Retention: focuses recruitment in African American communities to identify families for the disproportionate number of African American youth in the child welfare system.
- Child Specific Recruitment (CSR): Recruiters work to find permanent homes for children who are more difficult to place. TRAC provides this service through a grant from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and is a Wendy's Wonderful Kids provider.
- The TRAC Exchange: serves as the matching department for all waiting families.
