Mission: Fire protection
Programs: The thorndale volunteer provides fire and safety protection for the communities of thorndale and caln township. In 2016 the thorndale volunteer fire company logged 15,326 man hours responding to 443 fire alarms. The fire company also responded to 431 qrs (medical assistance) alarms; an average 63 fire fighters put in 2172 hours of training; and spent 13,748 man hours of in service activities. Total of all in service for the year was 18,195. Caln township owns the fire apparatus used by the thorndale volunteer fire company. The township provides for the fuel and maintenance of the fire apparatus.
providing social club for the volunteer firemen to foster comradery. The social club is restricted to the membership of the thorndale volunteer fire company. Major expenses of the club are payroll and cost of goods.
