Mission: Thomasville community resource center, inc. 's mission is to support and enhance the educational, emotional, and physical well-being of the people we serve through education, health, and family support services.
Programs: The after school program provides structured educational enrichment through the "100-book challenge curriculum", homework assistance, curriculum activities centered around art, gardening, computer training, career-building skills, etc. The services are provided in an attempt to reduce high school dropout and adolescent pregnancy rates in the local community. The 21st century program attempts to provide opportunities for academic enrichment and tutorial services, offer students a broad array of additional services, programs and activities to reinforce and complement the regular academic program, and to offer families of 21st century program students opportunities for literacy and related educational development. The opportunities and services are provided through after school and summer enrichment classes at two 21st century learning center sites: scott elementary and circle c community. Both sites offer homework assistance, reading and math tutorials and enrichment, recreation opportunities, and snacks and meals. The wellness clinic attempts to provide educational, preventative,and clinical health services to adolescents and adults of thomas county, through cooperative agreements with the local health department, hospital, and university. Additional programs include the parent/child program and wellness services. The cooperative agreements create an opportunity for thomasville community resource center, inc. To offer free clinical services in its community wellness center.
