While working at the Thomas House, I was welcomed and acknowledged with open arms. The other volunteers that were working alongside my volunteer group were incredibly kind, and so were the members within the shelter. None of the jobs we did were too time consuming or rigorous, so we were able to get many things done in a short amount of time. The community members are kind and not distant, so volunteering here was like helping out friends rather than strangers. I would definitely recommend volunteering here, and would gladly come return someday!
I helped volunteer here one day, and the people in charge of the Thomas House are very kind and run the place smoothly! One of the tasks I helped with was help organize a birthday party for the residents who had a July birthday. The children were all delighted by the activities, and it was gratifying to see the smiles on their parents’ faces. Volunteering at this nonprofit is a great experience, and I would definitely come back!
