Mission: Theatre East ADVANCES THE DIALOGUE of the SHARED HUMAN EXPERIENCE through works that utilize SIMPLE STORYTELLING, PROVIDING OUR COMMUNITY WITH A PLATFORM to DEEPEN ITS UNDERSTANDING of themselves, each other and the world we share.

Sept 2010: Workshop of our next mainstage production, Daniel MacIvor's THE SOLDIER DREAMS, played to an enthusiastic audience of almost 100 people. 2010-present: Neighborhood Reading Series - foster relationships with the playwrights and their work. Keeping the readings free & open to the public aids us in our dedication to the ideal that theatre is not a luxury but should be accessible to everyone, no matter one's economic or social status. October 2009: Off-Broadway premiere of Tim Blake Nelson's EYE OF GOD at the Kirk Theatre on 42nd Street. 2009 Benefit: Presented first Annual Laurette Taylor Award to Tom Oppenheim and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting
