I have felt accepted by Theatre Bristol since my first experience with them. They work hard to build a welcoming environment and to infuse a spirit of joy and hope in the community.
Theatre Bristol is a wonderful community theatre! Their shows truly rival any stage around. Whether it’s a musical or drama, everything they produce will keep you entertained for hours!
I've had the privilege of volunteering on various productions in different capacities, from costume design to crew at Theatre Bristol since 2021. Theatre Bristol offers volunteers the chance to explore various aspects of theatre production. From costumes to technical roles, there's always something new to learn. While it can be a lot of work, the experience is incredibly enjoyable and satisfying, especially when seeing the final product on stage.
I highly recommend Theatre Bristol to anyone interested in theatre, whether as a volunteer, performer, or audience member. It's a bright light in our community that brings joy, culture, and entertainment to people of all ages.
Theatre Bristol plays a vital role in the community by providing outstanding live performances and a rich educational environment. They offer acting and performance workshops for those looking to enhance their skills, while children's programs like Playtime for pre-K kids expose youth to the performing arts, fostering confidence and self-esteem.
Additionally, Theatre Bristol's youth board empowers high school and college students by providing leadership opportunities and allowing them to take active roles in productions. Overall, Theatre Bristol serves as a cornerstone of both quality entertainment and community education.
Personally, I have volunteered behind the scenes, as has my child, and it truly is a warm and inviting place to contribute to the well-being of our community.
Always put on a wonderful show. The talent level is amazing for a local theatre company. Have seen several great performances in the past. The major shows that are held in the larger theater next door are truly amazing!
Theatre Bristol is an outstanding non profit performing arts organization. I have personally participated in a number of shows, volunteered with the organization, and attended numerous shows in which I was not directly involved. Theatre Bristol is very professionally run and provides a family friendly environment for all participants and guests. The children’s program is fun as well as educational and enriching.
This is a nonprofit organization that I’m very proud to be affiliated with.

I have been a cast member and volunteer with Theatre Bristol since 2021, when I was cast in their first post-covid production. As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms. Theatre Bristol is a family environment and everyone is very accommodating and supportive. Since 2021 I have participated in several of their productions as a cast member or member of the set crew or have volunteered in other ways.
Theatre Bristol no only provides the community with outstanding live performances, but provides and educational and learning environment as well. Theatre Bristol sponsors acting and performance workshops to tech those who want to learn or improve their performance skills. These programs expose children to the performing arts while building confidence and self esteem in the learning process.
Theatre Bristol’s youth board gives high school and college age youth leadership opportunities and allows them to take a significant role in the productions and programs present in the theatre.
Theatre Bristol not only provides quality live performance but is an educational and essential part of the community.
Wonderful people producing heartfelt art and fostering an amazing community of friends of the arts. However you can be involved, you are valued and respected. It is a great resource in the community, continuing a rich tradition of teaching future generations about the joy of performing.
Theatre Bristol has given my daughter a community where she can thrive. They are helping her develop her talent on stage while teaching her strong work ethic, respect (for others and herself), and confidence. I highly recommend supporting shows and getting involved!
I started out at Theatre Bristol during their second show after covid and ever since they've taught me better morals, responsibility, and teamwork. I definitely think this place deserves non-profit of the year for all that they've done for me
It is always so rewarding to be a part of the Bristol Theatre team.
You never know what the challenge will be.
(There is ALWAYS a challenge)
But the best part is working through it and realizing what you are made of!
And this process is always with a wonderfully supportive group of people.
That is what Bristol Theatre is to me.
An excellent and eccentric community. A second home. A huge family. Theatre Bristol is where I discovered my love of the performing arts. Theatre Bristol is forever cemented in my mind with my earliest memories of the stage and all of them warm and positive.
Theatre Bristol is truly an amazing place to be. The environment is just wonderful and everyone cares about each other. There is never a dull moment at Theatre Bristol. It's like a second home to me.
Theater Bristol is an amazing theater! I’ve been a part of 4 shows there and I’ve gained so many great friends and amazing experiences. I’m looking forward to the next show I can be in at theater Bristol. I’ll definitely be back soon for a work day!
I’ve been in many shows at theatre Bristol and it has always been a great place to work and meet fantastic new people
Theatre Bristol has inspired so many children throughout the years with an opportunity to grow in confidence and find their own creativity in performing. Without Theatre Bristol many children in our community would not have a safe place to grow and belong. Because of the ability to get on stage and perform in front of a live audience, these children are able to go into job interviews and other life events with confidence.
Theatre Bristol is an amazing organization that I believe greatly benefits the community! In my experience Theater Bristol is a welcoming positive environment that creates art, experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime!

I have been involved in theatre at many levels for many years, and Theatre Bristol has been among my most rewarding experiences! The people and the organization are at a professional level in every way, despite the fact that just about everyone is a volunteer. As a director, I have never had such complete support in any other company, amateur or professional! Every show they do is extremely and thoroughly well put together, from sets to costumes to each and every individual and ensemble performance! Our area is blessed with several wonderful amateur theatre companies, but Theatre Bristol is more than a cut above, for sure!
Show after show, year after year, musical after musical, Theatre Bristol has been a must for all lovers of theatre. Their professionalism is top tier. The quality they put on the stage is truly unmatched in our region, especially for a non-profit.
Bristol is blessed to have Theatre Bristol. If you have a chance to attend a show put on by Theatre Bristol, do it! You’ll be glad you did!
I have been involved with Theatre Bristol off and on since I was a young child and it has always been an absolute joy to be involved. This organization is so professional and has taught me so much as an actor. I am truly honored to be part of this community and am truly grateful for all of the people I have met over the years. This non profit organization is top tier and by far the best in the Tri Cities region. Thank you.
When I was 18 years old, I was part of Theatre Bristol's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. That experience was so wonderful, I auditioned for the next show, Beauty and the Beast, and landed the role of The Beast. In addition, I found just as much enjoyment in working backstage for other productions. Now, my 13 year old is part of this year's production of Elf The Musical, and is also using his artistic ability to assist backstage with prop/set production.
Theatre Bristol has provided for my child and I (and other families as well) this unique, generational experience. We have enjoyed swapping Theatre Bristol stories, and have strengthened our bond because of it.
The people that run Theatre Bristol are kind, welcoming, and supportive. It is a wonderful, rewarding commitment in which to involve yourself and your family. I would recommend it highly to anyone who has a love for the arts, collaboration, and community.
Our granddaughter had a wonderful experience with a recent show and thoroughly enjoys being a part of the Theatre Bristol family. I will admit that I learned a thing or two about theatre as well. We really appreciate the educational opportunities and community effort.
It has been a wonderful experience performing with Theatre Bristol. The atmosphere is family friendly, the people are genuinely friendly and helpful. Their doors are open to anyone in the Community, whether or not you have ever been involved in Theatre. Their youth program helps take young people to a new level of understanding through acting. They help promote respect, work ethics and the what it means to help your community to become a better place and be better people. Theatre Bristol, the staff & performers always put out and excellent product and no one would be disappointed when seeing one of their shows.
10/10, recommend! As a parent, it’s comforting to know places like Theatre Bristol exist. They are accepting, welcoming and professional, all while creating wonderful shows and experiences for the community.
My daughter has enjoyed Theatre Bristol’s summer camp, workshops, and just started auditioning for shows this year. She’s already gained an incredible amount of knowledge, new friends and made memories along the way.
I think Theatre Bristol is an amazing nonprofit. They are caring and really dedicated to helping the young people in our community get engaged in meaningful, exciting things that most young people never have a chance to experience. They teach them poise, dedication and give then the opportunity to express themselves. A big thanks to Samantha, the team and all the young people that volunteer their services to see that Theatre Bristol remains a cornerstone in our community.
When my 10 year old wanted to start auditioning for plays at Theatre Bristol, I honestly didn’t know if it was a good idea. He had some anxiety and I assumed it would make things worse. I am so happy to say I was wrong. It has been a wonderful outlet for him. He has found a community of people that love the same things as him and work hard to put on an amazing show. He looks forward to every rehearsal and always leaves with a smile on his face!
I cannot say enough good things about Theatre Bristol.
When I was a teenager, Theatre Bristol was an outlet for me, a place where individuality was embraced and I found a level of acceptance that didn’t otherwise exist in my high school life.
Now, as an adult and a parent, I’m pleased to once again be involved with Theatre Bristol, on-stage and backstage and, most importantly, as a proud mom watching my own daughter find her place on the stage and in the world.
Theatre Bristol is a place that encourages you—the young (and not-so-young!)—to find your voice. It is a place that can help instill confidence that might start on the stage, but will, without question, begin to positively impact all areas of your life.
If it sounds magical, that’s because it is. Live theater is pure magic, and its importance to our community cannot be overstated. In this big, crazy world of ours, we need all the acceptance and encouragement and MAGIC we can possibly get.
So thank you, Theatre Bristol, for giving us bean stalks that climb to the sky and reminding little boys and girls everywhere that they really do have the power to save the day. Thank you for giving us singing plants and dancing elves and so much more.
Thank you for helping to keep the magic alive in all of us.
My daughter raved about every day of Theatre Summer Adventure Camp. She couldn't wait to tell us all about everything she'd learned and practiced her songs and lines constantly. The presentation on the last day was very impressive and the kids all looked to be having a lot of fun. Playing Peter Pan was the highlight of her summer and we will definitely sign her up for next year.
My three kids (12, 10, & 8 yrs) participated in the week long summer camp with Theatre Bristol and we were blown away! They had a FANTASTIC experience and learned so much more than I would have expected there was time for! They learned dance, music, and acting skills, and had such focused, quality instruction and attention from their teachers. We are so impressed and pleased with our experience. HIGHLY recommend!
Garrett (12) had a GREAT time at Theatre Bristol’s summer camp - he was excited to tell me he secured the role of Peter Pan and really loved all the different roles he was able to play from singing to dancing to acting - TB is passionate about what they do and it was obvious how hard they worked to make it a great experience for all the kids (young age to older)

I loved being a part of Theatre Bristol's Radio Show production! I always used different voices when I read to my kids when they were little, and this gave me a similar outlet. It was so fun, and a great learning experience for me.
It would be nearly impossible to express my gratitude to Theatre Bristol for all they have done for me over the past few years. Were it not for them I would still be awkward in public gatherings and certainly not able to perform onstage, which I've now done.
To me, Theatre Bristol is a training ground for those who wish to express themselves to the fullest within The Arts while learning all facets of acting and production. It is also an opportunity to give back to the community in uniquely entertaining ways.
My deepest thanks to Theatre Bristol.
Support and cherish your local theaters and playhouses.

Were it not for Theatre Bristol, I'm not sure where I'd be at this point. They gave me a sense of belonging. An awakening to something vital in the community. A place that nurtures talent and encourages creativity. I owe this amazing collective more than I can ever repay.
By the way. When it comes to auditions? Go for it. You never know until you try.
Below is the entire cast and crew of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". I played "Lord Scrumptious". Didn't know I had it in me until those with faith in my abilities gave me a chance.
My gratitude to each and every volunteer.
Theatre Bristol always strives to create outstanding entertainment for the community! I hope to volunteer for this organization for many years to come!
Theatre Bristol has been a special way for me to feel connected to a part of the community that's creative, kind and hard working. I personally am grateful for the position this organization holds within our city of being creative, kind and hard working which builds on Bristol as "A Good Place to Live."
An amazing long term community theatre that manages to exceed expectations in every way. I love them!!!

I have been involved since 2004...
and embedded in the Total Theatre Bristol experience since joining the board in 2012.
Definitive "community theatre" these folks have become my second family.
From being in the ensemble cast to playing a lead character ... finding props or building the full set ... to directing a full on Broadway Musical. Theatre Bristol brings out the best in me.
We moved to the area from 2,000 miles away. Before moving I reached out to all the theaters in the area to find a place for my daughter. She spent 7 years with a theater she loved and was struggling with the move. Theatre Bristol was the only theater who responded to me. They were warm and welcoming and tried to find ways to incorporate her in with the other kids virtually before the move. They helped her find a piece of home when she was so far away. We have spent time volunteering since our move and have been extremely impressed with the way the theater is run, as well as the people in it.
This is a wonderful community organization. The provide leadership development opportunities for young people, excellent productions, and an anchor to the historic downtown.
A welcoming, warm, professional and FUN theatre to be a part of. Always grateful for the opportunities they've provided me and to the community.
COVID beatings abound, but few have taken it like theatre and the arts. Growing up, my family never missed a production at “Little Theatre” in St. Petersburg, Fl , and raising my children- we didn’t miss Theatre Bristol’s productions. Back at it after the long, forced, hiatus (for health safety) these folks are jumping in big! These events are done completely by volunteers! Volunteers! They spend weeks of hours, perfecting a show to professionally entertain the community at a fair/reasonable price! Broadway, Radio shows, Shows in the park, Children’s productions and so much more! Thank you Theatre Bristol, for giving back to Sullivan County and the surrounding communities!
My family and I started volunteering and participating in community productions at Theatre Bristol in 2017. My children have learned how to be a part of a large team of people of all ages and walks of life, the value of commitment to one another in the community during a show, problem solving skills as they navigate new ideas and concepts, building confidence in reading, public speaking, singing and dancing, and all of this is while having fun in a family friendly atmosphere.
This organization is a treasure for our community! Not only are the theatre performances impeccably professional, the experience of participating in a show and the opportunities to be involved are deeply enriching. The skills that students and other community members can learn include set design, costumes, light/sound, stage management, music/voice, dance, and acting. The environment feels safe, inclusive, appropriate, and fosters a sense of belonging.
I have enjoyed being both cast and audience for this wonderful theatre. They truly involve the community they support.
I moved to the area and didn't really know anyone outside of my work. I came to volunteer at Theatre Bristol and found a truly amazing community. I was welcomed in regardless of the fact that I didn't really have much theater knowledge or experience. Theatre Bristol values its volunteers and puts on some amazing performances. It is a fun environment and they are committed to growth and education for kids and adults alike. I started as a volunteer and now serve on the Board of Directors because I love, trust, and believe in the mission of this organization.
I was warmly welcomed to Theatre Bristol 3 years ago. My love of theatre brought me to them. Since I've been involved with this Theatre - they have always show that they welcome anyone, with or without experience, to act on their stage or work behind the scenes. Many of the productions that are lead by children are nothing short of wonderful. The staff strives to encourage the youth of the area to come and learn about the arts - and then participate in becoming the best they can be. This is a wonderful place to go and make an extended family and feel accepted and welcome.
A wonderful cultural hub for the community with interest and opportunity for families and individuals alike. Theater Bristol productions are high quality and cast and crew become family. Each show enriches the community with the tradition of theatrical performance and there is an extra focus on teaching children the love and art of dramatic performance and stagecraft.
It was my good fortune to be selected for a role in a Theatre Bristol production in 2019. It was more than a brief moment on stage, I met multiple members of an organization dedicated to the development of a strong arts program. This is a group where everyone works hard and they enjoy providing a benefit to everyone they contact. Even during a time where we can't rehearse and perform as before, they have found opportunities to support the community.
Theatre Bristol is like a second home! Their shows are incredible. They are very welcoming to others.
I've been in a diverse array of TB productions - I've been in a barbershop quartet, I've done stage combat, I've been in a romance, I've danced and I've made flying monkeys fly.
TB is a staple of Bristol's downtown entertainment. They run summer camps for kids and put on a big variety of shows on two stages. And it's entirely staffed by volunteers.
My first experience with Theatre Bristol was attending their production of Les Miserables. I had a certain idea of what volunteer community theater would look like, and I've never been happier to be so wrong. Their production far exceeded my expectations. This is my fourth year helping out behind the scenes, and from what I've learned by osmosis, decided to audition last year. I'm very proud to have performed on the Theatre Bristol stage now, and look forward to many more years of helping this great organization put on quality performances for the community, where everyone from 4 to 104 has a chance to create art in an encouraging space. Theatre Bristol is an asset to the community in other ways as well, hosting musical performances for the annual Rhythm & Roots music festival, and loaning props and costume pieces to schools and other community theatres in the area.
Theatre Bristol has been a part of my life for 20 years. It is the reason I have a BFA in Directing and now get to share my love of theatre with high school students. TB has allowed me to meet many of my dearest friends as well, many I consider family.

My daughter Braelyn and I, and now youngest Lyncoln, have enjoyed being a part of the Theatre Bristol family for a short time now. Even though we just started, we are going to make it a long lasting relationship due to the amazing people that make the magic of theatre happen every year. We have enjoyed shows there for years and now being on stage and sharing the love of theatre with our fellow thespians has brought us so much joy! Thank you Theatre Bristol for allowing our dreams to come true!
Our son has performed a few plays with Theatre Bristol. The volunteers and staff are wonderful with the children and Theatre Bristol has provided amazing experiences for our son!
This organization gives opportunities to those that wouldn't normally be able to fulfill a dream of acting. Thank you for making dreams reality.
Can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was seeing Wizard of Oz. The sets, the costumes, the acting and singing... was all top notch and kept my super active 5 year old completely captivated. The joy that community theatre brings to the lives of not only those who are involved in a production but also to the audience that cannot be replicated.
A few years ago I reached out to Theatre Bristol hoping they might need some help with their upcoming show. I love to paint, create and brainstorm. They quickly responded and I was able to get started! They would actually go to the trouble to bring the sets to me so I could paint them at work. Not only did it help them, but more importantly it helped me get through a very difficult time. I see how much this program enriches the lives of so many people. I have continued to work with this amazing group of people to this day and hope to continue for many more.
Theatre Bristol is a wonderful establishment devoted to helping children and adults gain confidence and learn new skills. I have been in 8 Theatre Bristol shows and I keep coming back! They produce wonderful shows with professional level acting, sets, and other elements. I, along with so many others, have had so many wonderful opportunities through Theatre Bristol and i have learned so much from them. Theatre Bristol does more than just put on shows. It builds friendships, showcases talents, provides opportunities, is a safe space to be unique, and helps you to grow as a person!!
Such a great theatre! Provides such an outlet for our youth as well as providing quality entertainment for our community!
What an amazing experience at Theatre Bristol! My daughter, Braelyn and I have always enjoyed the spectacular performances put on by the theatre and we finally were able to be on stage with some talented fellow thespians. We not only built relationships but we enjoyed being a part of the production of The Wizard of Oz! The experience allowed us to live out our passion for performing!
Theatre Bristol not only provides our area with entertainment, but it also provides a place for our children to learn about theatre.
Getting involved volunteering with this amazing organization has given me family, friends, and a community that I'm so very proud of. Theatre Bristol puts on such high quality performances that you forget you are watching community theater. I'm so glad I found such a wonderful place to volunteer and see shows!
I never realized how lucky we were in Bristol to have the community theatre that we do until I went to a show by a different community theatre. Not to be catty as I’m sure they worked hard but wow—Theatre Bristol was just heads and tails above this other theatre! We really are so blessed to have such a strong program in Bristol.
Theatre Bristol’s production of The Wizard of OZ was so wonderful! The entire cast did An amazing job! The set was beautifully designed and the music score was perfect. Kudos to everyone involved in this production!!
Theatre Bristol is filled with top notch people who are highly committed, professional and caring. They work extremely hard to ensure their cast, community and audiences greatly benefit through performing arts programs. Hard to believe it's categorized as community theatre with such professional quality. Truly the best of both worlds.
My son was 14 when we discovered Theatre Bristol. He got a bit part in Romeo and Juliet. From that moment he contributed to every play for the next 4 years. He had wonderful mentors and loved learning all aspects of theatre. He can sew, build sets, clean, be a leader and teach. Samantha Gray is an amazing example of love and dedication to the Arts for the children. It has become a second family with many friendships made. He had over 700 volunteer hours in those 4 years.
Theatre Bristol is a wonderful place that allows young children and adults the opportunity to develop confidence, eloquence and a sense of community!
I've worked with Theatre Bristol for 5 years and have love the experience. It's a family friendly environment that has led me into so many amazing friendships while also letting me hone my skills as an actor and crew member
Theatre Bristol is an amazing place to be a part of! Everyone there is very friendly and easy to get along with alongside being family friendly and professional. I have performed there since 2014 and it has been an amazing experience! I can’t wait to continue to work with them!
Theatre Bristol is a wonderful organization dedicated to instilling confidence in kids! They always put on outstanding productions and have such talented casts! Theatre Bristol never disappoints!
I started coming to Theatre Bristol productions with my children more than 30 years ago, after we moved here from Austin, TX. I was pleasantly surprised to find a theatre of such quality in a small town. Over the years, I've seen many fantastic productions, and I'm thrilled that my grandchildren can see quality theatre in their hometown. I'm even more pleased to see TB's recent rededication to producing quality children's theatre, and to partnering with a local agency to present original plays with special education teens and young adults. I highly recommend Theatre Bristol. Go! You'll be glad you did.
Theatre Bristol has given me a chance to grow so much as a person, and given me so many friends along the way.
Love theatre Bristol! It has given my daughter confidence and she has made some lasting friendships!

We love Theatre Bristol! My daughter attended the summer camp and fell in love with the people and the environment. Since then she has been cast in a few shows and has made some lasting friendships and memories. We also love watching the productions. They are all high quality and the talent is amazing to be all volunteer. I would put Theatre Bristol shows against any community or paid theatre around and the quality and talent would surpass any.
As a shy kid, Theatre Bristol helped me blossom and become who I am now! This theatre taught me self discipline, and the importance of working as a team. I have made some of the best friends I will ever meet and I have enjoyed every year I have spent volunteering for it.
Theatre Bristol has been an amazing outlet for our son. He loved doing a show at this theatre and we as his parents also enjoyed the expirence. We were welcomed into the theatre “family” and were able to make his hobby a true family affair. Everyone at the theatre was so helpful and allowed us to feel at home when we were there. This theatre is such an asset to our community!
I love going to see productions by Theatre Bristol. The children and adults put in such hard work to share their passion for acting with the community! Alexander and Pinocchio were two of the last productions we saw. I would highly recommend going to see a Theatre Bristol production.
I saw Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang at Theater Bristol. I was so impressed with every aspect of the show. The acting, music and props were top notch. It was thrilling seeing the storm roll in and the waves rising. It was spectacular to see Chitty actually fly!!! I came from Dinwiddie , VA to see the show and it was well worth it. I am looking foward to coming back in November to see Fiddler on the Roof!!!
The recent production of Pinocchio was more than just a delightful show or fun way to spend a little time on the weekend. The young actors (who, incidentally, did double time helping to put the show together, including constructing sets) were very, very good. Their lines were delivered like a pro and stage presence was flawless. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to see the next show. Theater Bristol should be put on everybody's list of things to do.
I had a wonderful experience with Theatre Bristol, wheather it be working behind the scenes to create thrilling ser pieces, to picking up items which the theatre needs, to even preforming & working with such fantastic people and directors! I have truly grown as a person through Theatre Bristol!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THEATRE BRISTOL! They are a wonderful group. They have a family friendly feel! The cast and volunteer staff are friendly and do a fantastic job! Cannot wait to watch another show, or even audition for myself!!!!
Theatre Bristol has encouraged and given experience to hundreds of actors and "wanna-be actors" for many years. And in the process, TB has given our community many wonderful hours of live entertainment.
This is a wonderful theatre. Very family friendly. And the people are just amazing to be around and preform with.
Great place to visit. They put on amazing shows. The shows are far beyond what you would expect from a local community theatre! I would say that everyone should make this a destination to go to
I just saw a broadway worthy production of Beauty And The Beast presented by Theatre Bristol this past weekend. I would like to personally thank them for sharing the amazing local talent with audiences and opening our children's eyes, hearts and imaginations to the wonderful, enriching world the arts, in particular, live theatre can provide! Keep up the good work!!!
Theatre Bristol is a wonderful place for all of the community to get involved. My granddaughter has been in several shows. The directors are so talented. They teach our kids commitment as well as public speaking. They have a great time and learn so many skills it's hard to list them all. The confidence they build is amazing. Theatre helps in all aspects of there life. Please come and audition no matter what age you are. If that's not what you are interested in you can volunteer to paint sets, build sets or many other things. Please consider making a donation to help support the work they do for these kids and adults. Thank you.
Theatre Bristol is not only a great theatre who puts on phenomenal plays, they are also a theatre who has a passion for involving the community. They are constantly looking for more people, with experience or not, to add to their teams. Throughout my 4 years volunteering for Theatre Bristol, I have learned skills that I will use for the rest of my life. I was not turned away because I didn't know how to do a job, but I was taught step by step. At Theatre Bristol, relationships are the focus and that can be seen through the productions. The chemistry of the actors onstage and the quality of the visual aspects show teamwork and an overall love of theatre. Whether you are seeing a show or volunteering, Theatre Bristol will give you an amazing experience that you will remember forever.
I have been living in the TriCities for almost ten years, and as a Virginia Intermont Alumni feel a deep connection with the community. My first show with the organization, which will also (unfortunately) be my last due to moving, has been a wonderful experience! I met talented, hard working people who truly love not only theatre but giving back to the local community by providing them with class A entertainment for all ages. This theatre will quickly become your family once you become involved with the beautiful work they do.
Theatre Bristol is amazing. I love every show I've seen there. I've also had the opportunity to be in two shows with Theatre Bristol (played Gavroche in Les Miserables and Peter Cratchit in Scrooge the Musical). Theatre Bristol is an important part of Bristol's history and we're lucky to have it. Go see a show there and support Theatre Bristol. You'll be glad you did.
My daughter has been involved with Theatre Bristol for more than 4 years. She absolutely loves being on stage, bringing characters to life! She also loves the lasting friendships that she's made being part of Theatre Bristol. Theatre helps to build self-confidence and reinforces pro-social behavior especially amongst young children. Thank you, Theatre Bristol, for all that you do to enrich the lives of child actors and audiences.
I grew up with Theatre Bristol. As a child in elementary school we would take field trips to see their shows. I was always awed and inspired. I wanted to join them. When I was in sixth grade I had my chance. Terrified, I auditioned for Beauty and the Beast (before Disney adapted the film for stage), I was cast as part of the rose bush (or as my father said "the thorn"). Being on stage was like nothing else. It would be 5 years before I did a show again, but it was Theatre Bristol's Grease. Over the next 3 years I would perform or work backstage on over 25 shows. Working backstage caused me to see my interest in painting and love of color, I was taught scenic design and lighting design. Fast forward 10 years, I have changed and grown, but so has Theatre Bristol. I hold a college degree in theatre design and a minor in advertising. Theatre Bristol taught me leadership, organization, and harnessed my creativity. Some of the friends I made during my youth at Theatre Bristol have gone on to Broadway, the West End, major Hollywood films, and regional professional theatres across the county. I still keep in contact with them today. I have a energy for working with children and an ability to react in situations because of the lessons I learned from the people at TB. They are my family. The organization has gone through its shares of troubles but this has grown it and made it stronger. I am proud to say Theatre Bristol shaped my life.
What makes TB a great theatre is that all groups are welcomed. Kids and adults, newbies and veterans, actors and setbuilders and viewers. All get along great and there is a lot to learn about the roles of others.
There is a lot of talent in the Tri-Cities area and it's amazing to see it surface in an all-volunteer theater.
Theatre Bristol is my home away from home, this place means the world to me. It is so important to have this community with a passion for entertainment and love for kids.
Wonderful theater with talent and shows that exceed expectations and often surpass the quality of shows at for profit theaters. Will find a roll for anybody, giving all a chance to shine.
I've been to see many plays at Theater Bristol and even volunteered before, and every experience was amazing!
Theatre Bristol is a fantastic family theatre that not only gets families together to see shows, but also gets them together to be in them. During my time volunteering at Theatre Bristol, I've seen kids in shows while their parents work on set or help costume, I've seen parents in shows with their children, and I've seen families from past shows come back to the theatre to help with a show, even if they're not in it. But one thing more, members of a show become a family, forming friendships that last for years beyond the last bow. That's what being a family theatre is.
Theatre Bristol has been changing lives for more than 50 years, all because Cathy DeCaterina believed in helping children gain confidence. I have not only enjoyed Theatre Bristol's shows for nearly 15 of those years, but I have watched my own children benefit from Cathy's vision--whether helping backstage or performing on stage. Theatre Bristol is an integral part of our downtown Bristol community as well as our region because of the work of many dedicated volunteers. I'm honored to serve on the board at this time and help keep the legacy going for more children and adults to have a chance to gain skills and confidence, and to shine on the ARTspace and Paramount stages.
