Mission: The treasure valley family ymca strengthens the foundation of our community by developing successful youth, engaging people in healthy living, and instilling a commitment to social responsibility. We provide support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow, and thrive. With caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility at the core of our values, no one is turned away from a ymca program or service due to an inability to pay. In 2017, we provided over $5 million in direct financial assistance, scholarships, and program subsidies. We have over 56,000 members across the treasure valley, and we touch the lives of over 100,000 children every year through our services and programs.

As a child, I was a program participant in the Y's before and after school and summer programs. Thanks to the gifts of their wonderful donors, I attended tuition-free - and was taught values and healthy coping skills that I would've never had the chance to learn in my home situation. Now I do my best to routinely support the company whenever I can! The culture of staff also seems very tight-knit and supportive, and every time I go into one of their facilities it really feels like all of the staff understand and connect to the values of the non-profit.

The Downtown YMCA by far offers the greatest services to children, the elderly, families and individuals.
There has to be guidelines in order for each program to operate effectively. You can't please everyone so how about just enjoying the programs and not complaining about what
YOU think is better. I get so tired of......."but what about what I want"..........really......

I was a volunteer who made safety-based suggestions to the group exercise program and had my membership terminated unilaterally as punishment contrary to state nonprofit corporation laws. Not a an operation that operates according to its professed corre principles nor is well-managed by any definition.
