I felt like the Women’s Law Center really cared about me as a person, and not just as a client. I has been scared not knowing that I even had right after being abused for many years. They went out of their way to help me to get a protective order to keep me and my son safe. Allison Kurland and her assistance Patricia are very nice. Very helpful in explaining how the whole process works and quick responses as well. I was dealing with a lot of stress in my life, and this has truly helped put my mind at ease knowing I have someone backing me up. Thanks!

I have had such limited experience with the legal system in my life. When I first walked in to the courthouse to file a protective order against my husband I felt so helpless and confused about what would happen next. But right when I was introduced to Allison Kurland she became such a great source of comfort, knowledge, and advice! Her assistant, Patricia, is also amazing! They explained everything to me in a way that I could understand, and I never felt like any question was too dumb to ask. Even though I was anxious walking in for the final protective order hearing, I felt as if they had given me all of the tools I needed to be prepared. I pray that I never need this service again, however I feel so comforted knowing they are there to help.

I don't know that my story is rare however, I certainly hope so. I sought out legal assistance from the womens law center of Maryland in 2014 during a protective order hearing against my husband. Our seperation became aggressive,verbally,physically, financially, and legally. I was advised by the House of Ruth that I would be contacted by an attorney from the women's Law Center. Within a short time of me reaching out I was contacted. I was extremely nervous as my first protective order had been denied. With the assistance from the attorney however for time it was granted and I was so relieved. I was finally able to have peace in my home. Or so I thought. Shortly after being granted the PO he filed an appeal against it. I had to seek the help of the attorneys from the womens law center again and again thanks to them his appeal was denied. I could not have done this by myself. The services that the Law clinic provide is priceless.

I am an abused woman and like many others like me, I have found myself looking for rescue and legal guidance only to be further abused by uncaring and sometimes even condescending attitudes of clerical and legal staff (women) who hold first point of contact positions for courts systems offering assistance to victims. I was pleasantly surprised when I met ms Allison Kurland and her assistant Allison did not make me feel dumb stupid for loving a man who abused she gave me courage she was fearless and professional when I saw my ex for the first time in over a year those old fears of him evaporated because Allison was standing beside me and I could tell she cared and her being great at her job did not disappoint 5 stars

The Women's Law Center of Maryland went above and beyond to assist me in a very long and extensive court case throughout June-July 2015, assisting me to obtain the help I needed to protect and defend myself from a man I had been in an abusive and destructive relationship for years. My representative gave me the support and strength I never thought I had. She fought for my well being and justice. She provided me with additional resources to continue my growth as an individual overcoming an unbearable situation. I cannot say enough for this organization. I am so grateful for what they have done for me.

I truly appreciate everything the Women’s Law Center of Maryland did for me in helping me in November 2014. Yes I WAS a victim of Domestic Violence. My boyfriend of almost eight years physically attacked me November 10, 2014 leaving bruises up and down my arms and me in a mental state of SHOCK. I truly did not know what to do. I needed to protect myself but did not know enough about the judicial system to know what to do or where to start. My neighbors led me to your office in Westminster Maryland. Your personnel took charge. The representing counsel Most definitely helped me through every step.

I achieved FINAL PROTECTION ORDER.
I achieved 2nd Degree Assault Conviction / PBJ against my abuser.
I achieved!!!

I used the Women’s Law Center over 1 year ago. I went in there completely scared not knowing that I even had rights after being abused for many years. I was petrified as to what can possibly happen to my kids and I. The women there are amazing. I was able to get a protective order to keep my family safe for a year. When I had questions regarding the protective order, they were prompt in answering all questions and concerns I had. I actually used the Center again last month to get an extension of my protective order over using my private attorney because the women at the group have a huge heart. They cared about us. I truly wish these women had their own private practice because not are just completely educated and experience with my situation but they treated me as if my family was important to them. Totally Priceless!

I never thought I would need or use an organization like The Women's Law Center of Maryland. But after almost 20 years of marriage I was backed into a corner when my then husband got physical with me in front of our 12 year of daughter and some of my friends. He had moved out of our house but was continuing to pop in and out at his convenience to check up on me. This particular day he was very irate that my daughter and I had some friends over to swim in the pool. He demanded they leave and when I intervened and told him he should leave he got very mad and started pushing me around then grabbed me by the neck and put me up against the wall. Our daughter and friends witnesses this, they then called 911. After I went to the commissioners office to get the restraining order I was at a loss and confused on what to do next. I was directed to go seek help from The Women's Law Center. I then met and spoke to Mrs. Ellen Hair and her associate Crystal. I was treated with kindness, concern and respect from everyone in the office. Mrs. Hair represented me in court against my now X-husband and without her help and guidance I would have been lost. I can not say enough great things about this office or the employees there. Woman like me never want to have to use this kind of organization but I am so glad it is there. They have my utmost respect and loyalty and to this day I visit when I am in the area. I am very appreciative and grateful for everything they have done for me. The restraining order and divorce process has been a very difficult time but with their support and help I have moved on with my life. Every women needs to know that there is an outstanding organization like The Women's Law Center to help them when they are in need. I am forever in their debit...l

This is a corrupt non-profit. They don't help nobody. They're a bunch of dikes operating a fake non-profit. Michelle Siri at The Womens Law Center of Maryland Inc. is the RUDEST person you will ever meet. She treats people very bad.
