Causes: Arts & Culture
Mission: The wisconsin alliance of artists and craftspeople promotes the visual arts by providing opportunities and support for wisconsin artists and craftspeople, offers full cooperation among our members in an effort to cope with and help resolve problems and to address situations unique to artists and craftspeople, and encourages and promotes young artists and craftspeople.
Programs: In november 2014, the waac sponsored the 25th annual winter art fair off the square in madison's frank lloyd wright designed monona terrace convention center. This two-day indoor event promoted the visual arts of wisconsin and featured the exhibition and sale of works of about 150 artists and craftspeople. As an educational benefit for the public, each exhibitor displayed an artist's statement in his or her booth describing the art work and the techniques used to create it. Live classical music was performed by young students of the madison area piano teachers association as well as by other area musicians. A young collector's corner for children under age twelve allowed children to purchase higher valued artwork from exhibiting artists for a nominal price. In the kids' craft corner, children created a "work of art" for a nominal fee. Approximately 5,000 people attended the winter art fair off the square. Waac publishes a quarterly newsletter that is sends to approximately 450 members/associates and to individuals and businesses having an interest in the arts in wisconsin.

This two-day outdoor event promoted the visual arts of wisconsin and featured the exhibition and sale of works of about 140 wisconsin artists and craftspeople. As an educational benefit for the public, each exhibitor displayed an artist's statement in his or her booth describing the art work and the techniques used to create it. The fair included refreshments provided by area vendors. A kids' craft corner allowed children to create a "work of art" for a nominal fee. Approximately 50,000 people attended the art fair off the square.
