I've worked in the sector for 17 years as everything from well driller to operations director to communications director. I got to personally see The Water Project's work in Kenya and it was the most transformative work I've ever seen. It was everything everyone in the water sector says they are in terms of improving economy, agriculture, hygiene, environment, livestock, etc. few water projects really do impact all these areas but this TWP work was.
Hello Peter how are you happy to see the sand dam and the people over there if possible please mention my mom's name called as [MAHMOODHA] hope the rest will be helpful
When I saw the way clean water gave breath, to new life, for the people I was blessed enough to visit, I was changed forever! I have never in my life witnessed a charitable organization, deliver more per dollar than the water project does on a regular basis. You see what they solve, is the access to clean water problem but what they deliver is a solution to all sorts of disease, malnutrition, hygiene issues, violence and depravity brought upon the women and children, who are in harms way as the seek out clean water for their families. I will stay involved because to bring clean water to a community is to bring life, and life to the full! The water project has done so much, but there is much left to be done! Come help us stay vigilant until every person has access to the clean water they need!
As my father aged he no longer wanted his family to buy him gifts. Instead he came up with a great idea. He asked that family members donate money to The Water Project. He was thrilled when he was notified of the donations in his name. The Water Project sent him information on the project(s) he was supporting with great details and pictures. I felt good about donating to such an important non-profit organization, and he felt good knowing he was helping those with such a great need. The Water Project is a very well run non-profit organization with goals that are making a difference.
I have partnered with The Water Project for many years and can assure you they are an incredible organization. As a donor you don’t just give money to The Water Project. They partner with you and allow you to make a significant life changing impact on the most vulnerable people on our planet. You can see project updates, pictures, and stats on the projects you donate to and more importantly the communities you have helped impact. You know that you are making a difference. Their dedication to including their donors in the work they do is remarkable and the work they do is such a crucial first step in alleviating poverty. A few clicks on their website is all it takes to change the world for one community!
I’ve been involved with the Water Project for nearly two years as a donor. First, as a one time donation for a project and now as a regular repeating monthly donor. I am always amazed at the breadth of information I receive regarding how the money I donate is being used on specific projects and how I am always updated in a timely fashion with this information. Very few organizations I work with provide this level of timely and transparent information and I truly value it as a donor.
I love that The Water Project backs up its claims of being transparent by sending me reports on the project I donated to. I got to learn about the community and see the immediate impact of the project. They go the extra mile to produce reports that are human and factual, something I have not experienced in giving to other organizations.
We have collaborated with The Water Project (TWP) for several years. TWP has been a great source of inspiration for us and we have supported 12-15 projects. I have visited their headquarters and met some of the leaders of the organization. Very serious, goal-oriented people with a sincere heart to help people in need. We always get good feedback from TWP. The Water Promise shows that TWP does not just do a water project and then leaves a village to its own when problems arise. TWP undertakes to maintain a water point for at least five years. We will continue to support TWP. I really can recommend TWP. Lennart Pedersen, Chairman, and Co-founder of Scandinavians for life.
We have worked with The Water Project for the past 8 years. Tess Crick and Peter Chasse are passionate about what they do. We believe in them so much, we have had the pleasure of doubling the amount of water projects we support every year. Because we feel so strongly that children and education are of the utmost importance, we have been able to specifically choose projects that provide clean water to schools. Knowing that we can trust The Water Project to help hundreds of children in less fortunate places like Africa brings us the ultimate joy. TWP has projects lined up with a team of people that know exactly what they are doing and get it done in a timely fashion. In less than 12 months, we begin receiving pictures of what has been completed and most importantly we get to see the beautiful smiles of the people they serve. Thanks to TWP for all you do and allowing us to be part of this wonderful mission that you have chosen. We are eternally grateful. Gabe, Tony & The Aqua Party team.
I've been working with The Water Project for several years now and have donated (along with my family) to fund 3 projects. As a rule, I'm very particular about the organizations I donate to and have very strict financial accountability and transparency requirements. Not only does TWP meet these, they go above and beyond to share updates on the projects I've funded, including new app that I keep on my phone to stay in the loop on current and past projects. My coordinator, Tess, has been so good to work with in hearing my heart for education and children's safety and has helped to select the perfect projects that meet me where my passions lie. She also took some very personal attention in communicating with my nephew who chose to raise money for clean water in lieu of gifts for his 7th birthday. Tess and the rest of TWP's staff sent him a shirt which he wears and happily raises further awareness for this need and for this great organization.
I would recommend this org to anyone who will listen, but I especially recommend for someone looking for a long term partner in bringing clean water and life to the world in need.
Having served in the grantor capacity and having managed contracts with many non-profits to deliver anti poverty and wealth creation programs, I'm very selective in what organizations I personally support. The Water Project is by far one of the best I've ever seen. Their outcomes and data tracking is stellar, the team is accessible when I have questions, and they are humble in their approach.
My family traveled to Kenya to visit a sand dam project funded by our local church. We were able to meet Peter, founder, and our regional contact Stan; who toured 4 sand dam projects. The Water Project wisely trains regional teams who help raise awareness of hygiene, sanitation, and overall well/sand dam project scope and expertise.
After 3 days with them, I felt so blessed and assured that our offerings were being used to strengthen the communities of hard working Kenyans; their pride and craft were excellent and will endure for generations with careful monitoring from The Water Project
These folks truly “teach a person to fish”... then stay in the community to do the hard and unglamorous work of maintenance.
Water is precious and such a vital part of one's life.
Most of us take it for granted. Not The Water Project!
Helping communities in Africa secure clean water along with important education...will save countless lives.
This charity is in my top 3 each year!
My wife and I have been donating to The Water Project from its inception. We have received feed back on the many water projects our contributions have completed. Unlike most other non profits, we have received information, pictures and information about the people we have served through The Water Project. What we particularly like is the abiliy of the Water Project to monitor each project so as to maintain the well, or other water sources they have created to insure safe, clean water while also aiding the community acheive higher sanitation and prevention of water borne diseases. We feel like we are actively participating in the lives of the people the Water Project touches. The Water Project is not a 'one and done' operation like so many other similar and maybe glitzier charities. The Water Project is a community of people like my wife and I, the kids in schools from kindergarten through college, and yes even corporations who do fund raisers so that the The Water Project can stay in a life enhancing relationship with the communities that receive The Water Project's assistance to live life with clean water. The Water Project is the real deal!
The Water Project is an exceptional organization focused on truly helping communities in Africa obtain clean drinking water. The way they work, manage projects, engage the community and college students is just exceptional. They partner so well with so many other organizations to make things happen and while they run very lean, they achieve amazing results with a very dedicated and passionate staff.
I have been a part of this ministry for many years and look forward to many more. I love to see the physical results of my giving through pictures of the projects I have supported and I'm so excited to hear testimonies of the people who are benefiting from clean water.
Our Brownie Troop chose the Water Project as their fundraising activity last year, and we are blown away by this group. We used their fundraising ideas and products - the girls appreciated being able to save their own money to donate (choosing water instead of juice/soda, and donating the money saved). It is a unique and interesting way to collect funds, and the updates from the beneficiaires has created a link, causing the Brownies to want to do more.
Thank you, The Water Project. We are enjoying our experience with you!
We found The Water Project online and realized that they are right in "our backyard" here in New Hampshire. So, we drove north and met them all in person! Passionate about clean water for Africa, focused on sustainable projects that include sanitation and hygiene training, committed to investing in the lives of those in their partner organizations in Africa, this org is a model of transparency, accountability and integrity. As donors and volunteer, we wholeheartedly support them because of WHAT they do and HOW they do it. We get to see results in the villages and schools to which we donated and are confident that The Water Project isn't in it for the numbers. They're all about hope and life transformation - for men, women and children in Africa and those of us who join them in their work!
I've always wondered what I can do to help people in a third world country who don't have basic everyday needs that I take for granted here in the States. It's nice to know I can play a part in bringing clean water to those who have no running water. Thanks to The Water Project, I was able to help a village in Africa build a well with fresh, clean water. I also like the fact The Water Project teaches them basic hygiene like washing hands with soap and water so they can stay healthy and have a better way of life. Money well spent!
Making my way back home from Western Kenya. Every school and community I visited said the same thing about TWP: "They did what they said they would do." That alone is worth five stars. Add to that, the people aren't just waiting for help. They are working with the org, investing in each project, going through training and maintaining relationships with the leaders on the ground. This is what a non-profit should be.
Over the last few days, I have been observing the work this organization does. I love their focus on the relationships they build and that the water projects last.
