I am inspired by the founder and the work that they have been doing to improve the health of the those who do not have access to quality health services.
The work and effort of this organization and its volunteers have impacted the lives of many girls and women. I wish we have more efforts like the Village girls Initiative in all the villages and towns in Gambia with no or limited access to health care service
This is an excellent non-profit that was started in order to help females in The Gambia who have undergone Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The founder, Aisha Saidy, underwent the procedure herself, so she has a personal connection to ending this harmful and unnecessary tradition. Aisha and the team work hard to make sure females in under-served areas in The Gambia have access to healthcare and get their medical needs met. Aisha is very passionate about making this initiative a success and ensures that all of her team members feel the same. I am happy to say I have been a member of the board for more than three years now!
It has helped thousands of people in less than 2 years with very selfless volunteers.
The imapact have been felt with just a year or so and more lives to be touched in few years to come.
With a good motivation, the lives of many women and girls will be changed for better especially Heath wise. Healthy women means a healthy nation.
I love the vision and mission of the organization. It is providing vital service to poor communities and impact many families and lives. Women and girls in Africa do not have the education, resources and support for their health and general well-beings. Organizations like the VGI is the life support in rural villages with limited access to health care. I am so proud of the founder and all the volunteers of this amazing group doing very significant services.
If anyone is looking to support a nonprofit group making the most impact, please look no further. Support the Village Girl Initiative.
This is a one in a million non-nonprofit organization that could not have been at a better time and place. Village Girl Initiative is giving hope to the hopeless, caring for those who cannot afford basic health screenings that costs next to nothing. Bringing such facilities to the doorsteps of the poorest in Gambia is a dignified feat that goes a long way to enhance the health and wellbeing of the poor. Making the greatest impact in the simplest of ways is VGI.
This is a very worthy cause. Furthermore, one thing that stands out with this nonprofit is the fact it is very transparent and effectively applies donated funds where and as they are intended. Donors are completely abreasted on the entire process and delivery to the beneficiaries, which is very rare nowadays. Kudos to the VGI team.
