Mission: Village theater company d/b/a the tull family theater carries its nonprofit mission of strengthening cultural, educational, and entertainment experiences in the region. This mission combines with an initiative to bring art house movies, typically available only in metro areas, to underserved and disadvantaged suburban communities. Village theater company primarily will serve communities in allegheny county but expects to draw from neighboring communities in beaver, butler, and washington counties, bridging communities with reputations for strong support of the arts with areas where options for cultural activities can be more limited.

Further, the theater's fully accessible building, free assistive technology and subsidized, low sensory screenings provide cultural accessibility for people with disabilities. The theater's varied programming includes: classics, foreign films, documentaries, independent and locally produced films, stem film and speaker series, student and emerging filmmaker festivals, and newly released films. In addition, the theater provides free performances, such as classical and latin ballet, live music, as well as other community-building activities. The tull family theater offers programs that strengthen film-driven education, cultural and entertainment experiences to communities of western pennsylvania. It's wide variety of film genres provide a cultural mix that is otherwise not available outside of pittsburgh's urban core.
