The Transition Network provides a unique opportunity for women 50+, who are looking to move forward in their lives after productive careers in the workplace. Together, we embark on this journey to “Connect, Discover and Impact” – through peer groups and programs that inspire us to explore new options. I am proud to be a part of this group’s vibrant and forward-thinking Board, and I encourage any woman who is embarking on this journey of “what’s next” to join TTN – you, too, will be inspired!

TTN is a nationwide organization of women 50+ dedicated to helping women in transition through community. Since joining a few years back this flexible organization has encouraged me to create various small groups and events of particular interest to me. Social interaction, professional networking, volunteer sharing, and educational experiences have kept me active, alert and connected to my community at large and these wonderful women. Can't say enough good things about this organization.

How did I know about TTN? Three month before my retirement from the World Health Organization, the Regional Office for the Americas at Washington DC, my thoughtful husband wanted to give me ideas for my new coming life as retiree, after serving for 30 years as international civil servant in Public Health. He decided to buy me the book "Smart Women Don't Retire -- They Break Free: From Working Full-Time to Living Full-Time" by The Transition Network. This book made a big impact on me knowing about the experiences of wonderful and talented professional women in transition. I decided to join TTN- DC Metropolitan Area in January 2014 and I don't regret it. It has been a wonderful experience and there will be more ahead! Since then I have been participating in different small groups, activities, workshops, etc; meeting wonderful women that have helped me to navigate in my own transition. I decided to get more and more involved and give also my time and effort to make a difference on women in transition like me!

Great organization, I joined because I wanted ti speak Yiddish once again..TTN helped us to organize the group and we have been meeting for almost two years. we are me eting and learning and talking in meaningful ways.many good conversations and many laughs. I am gaining new friends , doing new activities, all this, happily, excitedly and enthusiastically in this latter part of my life..I am so grateful..I feel so,welcome and am impressed by the inteigence and inclusivity shown by individual leaders and the org as a whole. Now I am meeting members rough the organization of groups by zip codes that means I get to meet my neighbors. TTN not only serves personal development but builds community among the membership.. Kudos!,,

The Transition Network offers a community of like-minded women, 50 +, the opportunity to "connect, impact, and discover" - addressing the various facets of what we are facing in this period of our lives. Our members are making transitions from work to retirement; from work to another position; to volunteering, community involvement, facing health issues, empty nests, ailing parents, healthcare and housing and financial challenges and issues.

This national organization has chapters throughout the United States (with new chapters being created). Each chapter hosts its own combination of "peer groups," special interest groups and events.

As often is the case, I have found that those who jump right in and get involved - get the most out of an organization. As event programming leader, I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many women and making wonderful friends. It is often the case that at every event or meeting, I leave having been inspired and delighted by someone new. Having such a dynamic group of women in my life is tremendously enriching.
