Mission: The t squash academy teaches life and leadership skills to cincinnati youth through the sport of squash. We believe there are health benefits to physical exercise and life learning benefits in learning grit through participation in a challenging sport.
Programs: The t squash academy has distinguished itself as a regional leader in squash instruction, a trainer of national and regional competitors and a host site of local, regional, and national events. We are the first publicly accessible site of instruction and competition for the sport in cincinnati. We were the first cincinnati venue to host the midwest regional junior squash championships. We have also hosted city tournaments, beginner regional tournaments and national tournaments. In september 2017, we were chosen to host a national level junior championship tour event, which brought 288 of the countrys best junior squash players to cincinnati. This was the first time an event of this size was held in cincinnati.
one our our strengths is our coaching staff. In late 2016 we recruited our head squash pro, jon geekie. Expenses for the talent search were paid in 2017. Mr. Geekie is a former professional squash player from england. Jons coaching team includes andew kreetie, former number 1 player on amhersts collegiate team. These coaches provide a great balance of exposure to the professional game as well as to collegiate squash. Our program has produced 24 junior players who have achieved a national ranking in their age division. One of our players is a two time national champion. These are remarkable achievements for a young organization in a sport that is dominated by east and west coast programs.
in terms of service to the community through squash, we partner with the cincinnati squash academy and the racquet up squash organization in detroit. These two programs provide squash instruction and mentoring to inner city children. We provide discounted tournament access to their players, discounted holiday and summer camp fees, and we host friendly match exchanges with them twice a year.
