What it is:
Established in 2013 as the charitable arm of the Syracuse Silver Knights professional indoor soccer team, the Syracuse Silver Knight Foundation serves the Central New York community by creating athletic and creative educational youth programs, that strive to enrich the lives of children and provide opportunities which motivate them to live up to their potential, and help to guide them towards a positive, well-rounded future.
Why its important:
The Silver Knight Foundation helps underprivileged children get involved with sports and other physically and mentally healthy activities. This serves a real need in our (or any) community. Taking high risk children and encouraging them to better themselves and lead a healthy lifestyle rather than the alternative.

Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The Syracuse Silver Knight Foundation will foster an environment wherein children and young adults can enjoy the educational, physical and spiritual benefits in organized sports on a variety of levels including leadership, management, coaching, the science of sports, and direct athletic competition.
Target demographics: believe in the many benefits of sports for people of all ages, especially young children, and is dedicated to increasing youth athletic participation under any circumstance.
Programs: need-based scholarships for individuals to join sports training and skills camps run by members of the MILS team, the Syracuse Silver Knights, in order to gain membership on teams already organized for competition.
