It's amazing to me that once the difficult conversation gets started, how many people have been affected by someone they know, near or far through suicide or similar mental struggles. The case is no different for me when a close high school friend passed away and there were no real resources in the State of Idaho at that time to turn to.
The Speedy Foundation has helped create that avenue towards awareness, education and conversation with a passionate director and founder to lead the charge.

Suicide affects everyone. It is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States, and is an especially high cause of death in young people and the elderly. The Speedy Foundation plays an important role in Idaho and Utah in helping people in crisis and training those who can intervene and counsel them. By educating and empowering community members about suicide prevention, The Speedy Foundation is helping to remove the stigma and silence that surrounds this terrible scourge.
