In an era where society is increasingly polarized and sensemaking is increasingly difficult, the Society Library is an essential service!
Jamie Joyce and Sharon Hammond remind me that anything is possible when drive and brilliance meets genuine goodness. Both are leaders of the Society Library and I have watched them come up from the ground floor of vision, up up up into the clouds of what they are doing now. Both are amazing in their own right - but combined, there is something magical there - genuine and good. Why donate to them? Because our futures depend on it. The Society Library does battle as a neutral good grappling in a world where common sense is uncommon and opinions are thought to be facts of one's own reality. The work of the Society Library is incredibly important and as we progress further into the 21st Century, I know that they will be one of the most important nonprofits of this Century. Their online debates on Climate Change, their work looking at how people base their decisions, and their level of command of their areas of expertise is unrivaled. I believe in them and so should you... in fact I urge you to support them. It may be the best decision us affluents will ever make concerning our personal philanthropy.
The Society Library is exactly what this world needs in order to remedy the polarization that is dividing the people of the US and populations within nations around the world.
The availability of an exhaustive source of information on important issues which anyone can access, enabling them to make properly informed decisions, will lead to citizens participating in governance in a more meaningful and cooperative way that will result in a solution to the political stalemate that is preventing serious problems from being effectively addressed.
The Society Library was the first non-profit I found that dealt with the issues that have appeared during the age of information. They are genuine about their mission and I am proud to say I contributed my time to it.
Now more than ever, as a human and humane society we must have a way of keeping track of the public discourse, identifying and mitigating the disinformation that arises through different perceptions of reality. This is a daunting task, and yet The Society Library has stepped up to make this happen. They are providing an invaluable resource to the world!
I am so grateful for the amazing work that The Society Library is doing to create a future for all of us that is accessible for all of us. The integrity of their work and how they pursue their work is refreshing and powerful.
I've worked with Jamie here and there over the years and it's always a treat to jump into whatever the Society Library is diving into. The team is wonderful to work with and fosters a of strong sense of community. The work itself is always informative and interesting, every-time I volunteer I learn so much and feel it positively is enriching my life as well as giving back to what I believe is important to our history as humans.
Where to even begin? The society library is more than just a collection of information. Its a collection of human experience. I couldn't be more honored to be apart of their ever-growing achievements!
Amazing organization devoted to unbiased and accurate information accessibility, and I admire the passion behind the team!
