I worked for Shodor many years ago and was able to mentor many great students during my time there. Robert Panoff has been a huge part of my life and professional career. He is the best teacher I have ever had. I cannot say enough about how great this organization is. It empowers kids for a lifetime of critical thinking and equips them with a broad understanding of technology and science.
Shodor was my introduction to technology-- I've been working in the field ever since my first middle school workshop, subsequent apprenticeships and internship at Shodor. I learned how to build mathematical models and develop software for educational applications. Thanks to Shodor and all the people that continue to help it reach more students like me.
I began interning at Shodor when I was in 8th grade, and I attribute all of my success in the technology industry to this one organization. My computational and scientific background from Shodor allowed me to graduate from college with a liberal arts degree in Philosophy and minor in Music; in my professional life, I've been able to combine both my professional and academic background into something I love doing -- writing instructional documentation for software users.
From teaching to curriculum development, programming, mentoring, web design and so much more, the skills I received from interning at Shodor account for my professional success. They do amazing work, giving students like me opportunities to be professionals at a young age, while educating other students in a growing field. My thanks to Shodor!
