The Sea Turtle Preservation Society has been around for over 30 years. Their mission is Helping Sea Turtles Survive. I am so impressed with the work the volunteers of this organization do. They are constantly educating by going to schools and organizations to talk about sea turtles, providing outreach programs at the public libraries, maintaining an education center at their Turtle House in Indialantic, and educating on the beach while doing turtle walks, strandings, and nest surveys. These volunteers rescue sea turtles and transport them to the designated sea turtle rehabilitation center, which is sometimes on the other side of the state. What this organization and their volunteers do is nothing short of awesome and I am proud to be a volunteer with them. They truly are passionate about helping sea turtles survive so they will be around forever.

I have been with the Society for over 10 years and have enjoyed working with a great group of volunteers help sea turtle survive. I was elected to the Board almost 8 years ago and have served as the media chair, liaison to the Brevard Zoo and hold an FWC permit for transporting sea turtle throughout the state. All the volunteers I have worked with support each other. This is a great opportunity for families to become involved.

I have been with Sea turtle Preservation for 10 years. In the begining I was trained as a guide and motivated to read more about sea turtles. Volunteering to help an endangered species is fun, educational and yet sometimes grueling. The organization stands on the volunteer idea, has no paid staff and relies on memberships and donations.
