Programs: It is the organization's mission to reduce the number of animals entering shelters by doing hands-on rescue work. The organization rescue dogs and cats from euthanasia at city and county shelters and seeks to find them loving permanent homes. Prior to adoption all animals are seen by veterinarians and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The organization often rescues injured or sick animals and rehabilitates them prior to adoption. The organization obedience trains homeless dogs to help them become more adoptable and succeed as good canine citizens.
the organization runs two shelter intervention programs at los angeles animal services east & west valley animal shelters. These programs goals are to prevent animals from entering the east & west valley shelter by empowering pet owners with other options than surrendering their family pet. By providing free spay/neuter, vaccines, free or low cost veterinary referrals, dog or cat food, paying a pet deposit or paying license or redemption fees the organization is significantly decreasing the number of animals entering the shelter and reducing the suffering caused by pet overpopulation. Through education, awareness and support guardians will have resources to keep their pets.
the organization runs a pet pantry to supply dog and cat food to low income pet owners including senior citizens on a fixed income, the homeless and military veterans.
