Our grand Grammy Award winning Phoenix Chorale is regarded as one of the finest choral ensembles in North America, and indeed the world. To quote what their Facebook page has expressed so eloquently, "The Phoenix Chorale aims to be the preeminent model for American choral music by redefining standards of excellence and its mission is to enrich life through excellence and distinction in choral artistry. In our 60 year history, our conductors have included Millicent Wesley (the Chorale’s first conductor in 1958), Wallace Hornibrook, Dan Durand, Vance George, Anders Öhrwall, Jon Washburn, and Charles Bruffy." Now, the latest and wonderful addition, to kick off the 2019-2020 season, for the 60th Anniversary, is the appointment of the renowned Christopher Gabbitas as Artistic Director/conductor. The Board and the CEO of Phoenix Chorale have ensured that audiences will continue to have the experience of a lifetime at each performance. Personally I cannot wait, as my CD's are getting worn out (mostly 'Northern Lights: Choral Works by Ola Gjeilo'), with Ola Gjeilo on piano, Ted Belledin on saxophone, the Harrington String Quartet, and the winsome Phoenix Chorale.
