Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals, Veterinary Services

Mission: Thousands of companion animals are sent to shelters and euthanized each year, many because of treatable medical conditions. Companion animal owners must often make the difficult decision to euthanize an animal or surrender them to a local shelter because of the costs of needed medical treatment. The purpose of the Pet Fund is to work towards a future where decisions about companion animal medical care need never be made on the basis of cost.

My emotional support dog Jax had a large Cancerous Tumor Removed and was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer.

The Pet Fund recognized that I needed financial assistance and immediately stepped up. Their assistance was lifesaving and took a huge burden of stress off my shoulders.

Jax and I are forever grateful for the help The Pet Fund has provided.

At present, Jax is doing very well, and The Pet Fund made this extra time with Jax possible.

My baby is a male tabby cat about a week ago he got outside by mistake I was very scared nervous and worried he had gotten out once before and came home with a bladder infection and a chunk of his ear missing I didn’t have any money to even have him walk into the door of a hospital and several hospitals told me to surrender him he wouldn’t make it through the night but I said no way I had too much faith in god and in Winslow he is a fighter he is brave and smart and if I lose him I would lose my heart . So fast forward to last week I was starting to lose a little hope he was gone for so many days and then @3am yesterday morning I was laying down just got off work and I heard his faint cry and I was so happy that my baby came home but as soon as I picked him up I realized both eyes were closed shut he wouldn’t or couldn’t open them so I tried to gently open them and noticed his eyes were bloodshot red and sort of rolling back. I became hysterical. In a panic. I had a lot of people I didn’t even know looking for him and when I told him he was hurt and I can’t afford to take him to a hospital one of them shared this link to me. So I’m not sure if you can do anything to help but please if you can I would truly appreciate it. I can’t lose my baby. Thank you for listening ♥️♥️

We are a family of six and finances are really difficult right now. Our family dog was diagnosed with cancer and The Pet Fund helped us with their program to be able to continue chemo. Our dog is our family member and is so important to our children (and to us). Thank you so much!

This was such a wonderful Christmas gift. Our family dog needed an extension on chemo treatments and we were wondering how we were going to get through the year end with extra treatment as the bills were really piling up. The Pet Fund came through for us with a grant at just the right time, and we appreciate the help so much! Thank you for being there for us and for keeping our family together.

My sweet cat Perrididdle was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy about 6 years ago. HCM is a condition that causes the muscular walls of a cat’s heart to thicken, decreasing the heart’s efficiency and sometimes creating symptoms in other parts of the body. Perry is on three different medications and requires Cardiac Ultrasounds every six months to check on the condition and to determine if medication changes are necessary. This on top of his yearly exam and bloodwork can get very expensive.

I am a single cat mom of two cats on a very limited income. I could not be more grateful to the Pet Fund for helping with these veterinary costs with a grant. I am very blessed to still have Perry in my life and the medical tests and procedures help keep him at his healthiest. This is a fabulous organization and I am so happy that I got the referral to contact them.

Thank you for helping pets and their families navigate the high cost of care for chronic conditions. This cat mom and her fur baby are eternally grateful.

My 11 year old Belgian Malinois was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after I felt a mass in her neck. Surgery was the best option, followed by chemotherapy treatment. As anyone with a sick pet knows, treatment can be expensive. The Pet Fund's assistance with offering us a grant helped so much in Mocha's ongoing medical expenses. I could not be more grateful! Mocha is now on the road to recovery and back to her spunky, silly self.

Our adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Annabell was diagnosed with heart disease in April 2019. As her illness progressed over the year, the costs of treatment to meet her specific and individualized needs escalated. The unexpected costs of the medications alone began to overwhelm our already limited financial resources. The Pet Fund generated a grant that was paid directly to our Veterinarian's office to help reduce the on-going out of pocket costs for her medicine. Not having to concern ourselves with a significant medication expense has freed our minds to focus first and foremost on Annabell's care and medical appointments. For now she is enjoying wagon rides, sitting on the beach as the sun goes down, short boat rides, and tons of love. Thank you so much to The Pet Fund for founding this charitable organization, your assistance is not only a blessing, it is also allowing us additional precious memories with our sweet girl.

Pilot was diagnosed with Evans syndrome, an autoimmune disease, over four months ago. The ongoing treatment, including a severe crisis that required 40 straight hours of veterinary care, drained me dry. She bounced back and is doing well. She's not at 100% where she was before this slammed into her, but she's eating, going for walks, cuddling, asking for belly rubs, and enjoying life again. Her prognosis is good so long as she remains on the treatment regimen (which one of the medications is *very* expensive), but I had simply run out of funds, including maxing out my credit. The Pet Fund came though for us and helped us to continue her treatment and her good health. Pilot and I can't thank them enough.

Just over 2 years ago The Pet Fund was so helpful when my dog was diagnosed with Melanoma cancer and needed surgery plus on going treatments. I'm happy to say that was just over 2 years ago and she is still with me. She has enjoyed years of life she would certainly not have had if i wasn't able to get help with the expense of it all. Thank you so much to the people who run this nonprofit organization. I know you have helped so many. I'm thankful to have been one of the many recipients who were able to keep their pet alive because of the funds you granted to her Vet.

I am incredibly fortunate to be a volunteer for The Pet Fund. For the last 12 years I have been working with worried and concerned pet parents, helping them with the long term
health needs of their pets that are beyond their ability to pay. While I absolutely love helping pet owners get the care their pets need, I am so glad that I also have the opportunity to talk with them and help set their minds at
ease. When people call, it’s at a very stressful time in their life, and I understand that. And when the worst happens, we are able to direct grieving pet parents to grief
counselors. And to be honest, I cry with them. I wish we could help every animal, but more resources are needed to cover the many pets who need help around the country.
Working for The Pet Fund has made such a difference in my life. Volunteering for The Pet Fund has been the perfect opportunity for me to teach my kids about giving back to
society, and about the importance of caring for pets responsibly.

Don't even bother contacting "The Pet Fund" ..... this is a group of hoaxters and huxters who run a tax shelter and are more interested in sheltering their income than in helping sick cats and dogs. They would not even consider helping with my cat's asthma, instead telling me it was an "emergency" and they don't help with emergencies. What a waste of time and effort . Look at their description that excludes any normal routine care and any emergency care. What else is there?
