I've worked in the medical field for 26 years as an office manager for Dr. Irving A. Ratner, Pediatric Surgeon. What a privilege that was to work for such a respected, great physician. Since his passing, The Patient Institute was founded in his memory. He was the first Pediatric Surgeon to practice in South Texas and I will always admire the love and dedication he had for his hard work and always putting the patient first. Over the years, I have learned so much about the difficulties patients and their families face with the healthcare system.
