Mission: Provide support and sanctuary for all lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender individuals, their families and friends. Advocate for full inclusion of all people in church and society and promote christ's affirming message of love and justice for all.
Programs: National ministries - outreach and education to churches and individuals through newsletters, publications, conferences and direct contact. In 2013 100 additional churches signed a covenant to live out the values of the ucc coalition. The executive director made twelve trips around the country to churches and conferences where he spoke to a total of six hundred individuals through presentations and workshops.
national gathering - annual conference to provide education, advocacy and support for adults in ucc churches dealing with sexuality issues. Ninety attendees came from all over the country.
strategic planning - consultation: a program to interview in a group setting members of ucc churches to determine their attitudes toward lgbtq issues and their relationship to the church
in 2013 the ucc coalition participated in the general synod of the united church of christ, providing an information table and a workshop. Helped facilitate the creation and distribution of 12,000 rainbow scarves and information on bullying of youth, especially lgbt youth. Revamped website includes information on advocacy of lgbt seniors, bullying, suicide, transgender inclusion, marriage equality and care and advocacy of asylum seekers.
