Causes: Ethnic & Immigrant Centers, Human Services, Immigration
Mission: The neighborhood good samaritan center (ngsc) advocates to resolve issues facing new legal arrivals to the us. Pro-bono immigration lawyers donate their time and talent twice a month to assist the new arrivals with legal advice.
Programs: The center receives 300 to 500 new clients, most of whom are referred by the refugee resettle agencies we partner with. Approximately 93% of our clients are refugees, 4% are diversity visa immigrants, and 3% are legal asylees or asylum applicants. Through our program, immigrant women and men have achieved independence once they learn how to navigate the resources that are in place.
